ALL RIGHT. THE LITTLE ELM ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS NOW BACK IN SESSION.

MAY WE HAVE A, LET'S ALL RISE FOR THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

[3. Pledge of Allegiance]

I T IS 7:30, I AM SORRY.

DO WE HAVE AN INVOCATION? MAY WE HAVE THE INTRODUCTION AND ROLL CALL, PLEASE?

[6. Superintendent Spotlight ]

OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS THE SUPERINTENDENT SPOTLIGHT.

MR. BUCKNER, YOU ARE UP.

LET'S GO AHEAD AND START WITH THE VIDEO BEFORE I GET STARTED.

ALL RIGHT, SO THAT'S JUST A SHOWING OF THE LOGO.

A HYPE VIDEO FOR IT. THAT VIDEO AND THE MUSIC IS OURS.

WE CAN USE IT AS WELL, BUT I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE LITTLE HIGH SCHOOL BRANDING, HOW I GOT STARTED AND WHAT THE PROCESS WAS ABOUT CREATING THAT NEW LOGO.

SO RIGHT HERE I, I LOOKED AT THIS LOGO AS A GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND SAW THAT THERE ARE SOME ISSUES WHEN IT COMES TO SPORTS AND ATHLETICS BEING THE FACT THAT IT'S MORE ROUNDED, NOT ANGULAR. WHEN YOU LOOK AT OTHER SCHOOLS, YOU START TO SEE STUFF LIKE, WELL, I'M GETTING AHEAD OF MYSELF. YOU START TO SEE THINGS THAT ARE MORE ANGULAR, OKAY? SO I BROUGHT THIS TO STUDENTS AND I BROUGHT IT TO A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITHIN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THE FIRST PEOPLE I BROUGHT IT TO WAS THE BRANDING COMMITTEE THAT CONSISTED OF PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE DISTRICT THAT WORKED ON STAFF.

ADMIN ALSO PEOPLE WITHIN CABINET, AND THEN ALSO AFTER THAT, ONCE THAT WAS APPROVED, TO MAYBE LOOK AND SEE IF THERE'S A POSSIBILITY OF PEOPLE WANTING A NEW LOGO FOR ATHLETICS. WE WENT TO STUDENT LEADERSHIP, SO WE WENT TO THE PRINCIPAL AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEY GOT THEIR STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD TOGETHER.

IT CONSISTED OF 20 STUDENTS. I WENT AND SHOWED THEM WHAT OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS LOGOS ARE AND WHAT OTHER HIGH SCHOOLS ARE LOOKING AT, AND THEY GAVE ME A LOT OF OPINIONS, AND SO I'LL KIND OF GO THROUGH THAT PROCESS WITH YOU GUYS A LITTLE BIT.

WHENEVER I WALK THROUGH, THEN I SHOWED IT TO THE HEAD COACHES AND WENT AND THEY ALSO LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING A NEW LOGO AND THEN I STARTED DESIGNING AND THEN BROUGHT IT BACK TO A LOGO COMMITTEE THAT CONSISTED OF PEOPLE FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL.

[00:05:04]

STUDENTS FROM EACH DEPARTMENT DIDN'T MATTER IF THEY WERE FROM FINE ARTS, IF THEY WERE IN CTE, IF THEY WERE AN ACADEMIC AP CLASSES, EVERYONE WAS REPRESENTED ALONG WITH A FACULTY MEMBER AS WELL, AND SO THEY APPROVED IT AS WELL, AND THEN AFTERWARDS, I WENT BACK TO THE BRANDING COMMITTEE AND SAID, OKAY, THIS IS WHAT EVERYONE THOUGHT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? AND THEN BROUGHT TO THE CABINET AND NOW I'M BRINGING IT TO YOU. SO WHEN WE LOOK AT THESE LOGOS, WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF AN IDENTITY CRISIS ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

WHEN IT COMES TO ATHLETICS. WE HAVE A FEW PEOPLE SHOWING DIFFERENT KIND OF LOGOS BEING USED, AND THE QUESTION IS, WHAT PROBLEM DO WE HAVE? OUR PROBLEM IS NO ONE'S REALLY TOO EXCITED ABOUT THE CURRENT LOGO FOR OUR ATHLETICS, AND SO PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MAKE THEIR OWN PROBLEM GO AWAY BY MAKING THEIR OWN, AND SO OUR GOAL HERE IS TO BRING EVERYONE ON THE SAME PAGE AND EVERYONE IS THE SAME LOGO.

SO THIS ONE, WHEN YOU ZOOM IN ON IT, YOU CAN'T REALLY DO MUCH WITH IT BECAUSE THAT'S A LOT OF DIFFERENT COLORS.

SO THEN WHEN WE GO AND WE MAKE JERSEYS, ENDED UP COSTING OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT A LOT MORE MONEY TO PRINT THESE SHIRTS BECAUSE IT'S NOT EASY FOR SCREEN PRINTERS TO CREATE THEM. NOW, WHEN WE LOOK AT OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER COMPETITIVE SPORTS TEAMS ACROSS THE DFW METROPLEX, THAT'S WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. NOW, I ASKED THE STUDENTS, I SAID, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS LOGO COMPARED TO THE OTHER LOGOS? AND THEY SAID IT WAS LESS COMPETITIVE. IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE WE WERE IN THE TOP TIER DIVISION, AND IT ALSO DIDN'T LOOK LIKE WE WERE ANGRY OR WE WERE COMPETITIVE.

IT JUST LOOKS LIKE, HEY, WE'RE HERE OR WE'RE JUST CONTENT AND WE'RE JUST STARING AT YOU, AND SO WHEN THEY LOOKED AND I SAID, DOES THIS LOGO FIT WITH THE SCHOOLS THAT YOU'RE COMPETING AGAINST? AND IT WAS A RESOUNDING NO FROM 20 OUT OF 20 STUDENTS.

SO HERE'S THE NEW LOGO. ALSO CREATED A LETTER MARK WITH IT.

IT HAS SCRATCHES, AS IF A WOLF HAD GONE THROUGH AND SCRATCHED UP THE LOGO.

ALSO CREATED ONE FOR WHITE. THERE'S THE GOLD AND THEN THE ONES THAT THE COACHES ARE EXCITED ABOUT IS BLACK ALTERNATIVE, AND SO IF THE SPORTS TEAMS WOULD LIKE TO USE BLACK, THEY CAN USE THAT AS WELL, AND SO I ALSO THOUGHT ABOUT AND THE COACH HAS BROUGHT THIS UP IS WE HAVE A LOT OF DIFFERENT TEAMS IN THE DISTRICT, AND THEY ALL HAVE THEIR OWN CULTURES.

SO BASEBALL HAD THEIR OWN CULTURE. SOCCER HAS THEIR OWN CULTURE.

BASKETBALL HAS THEIR OWN CULTURE. SO THEY'RE LIKE, HEY, CAN WE GET OUR OWN LOGO WITHIN THE LOGO? AND SO I SAID, OF COURSE. AND SO THE LOGO ON THE LEFT IS THE CURRENT BOYS SOCCER LOGO AND WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE IF I WERE TO REVAMP IT FOR THE CURRENT LOGO, AND THEN THEY GET THEIR OWN WORDMARK AS WELL.

VOLLEYBALL AND HOW THAT WOULD LOOK AS WELL. SO WHEN I GO FROM THIS TO THIS.

DOES THIS LOGO LOOK LIKE IT BELONGS WITH OUR COMPETITION? AND SO GOING BACK TO THIS SLIDE BACK HERE. SORRY.

I WENT AND ASKED AND WENT BACK TO THE COMMITTEE AND I TOLD THEM, HEY.

THE LOGO COMMITTEE WITH THE TEACHERS AND THE STUDENTS, AND I SAID, HEY, DO YOU GUYS WANT TO GO FORWARD WITH THIS? AND 100% SAID, YES, AND WHAT BECAME EVEN MORE OF A THING WAS, IS THEY SAID, NOT ONLY DO WE WANT AN ATHLETICS, BUT CAN THIS BE OUR BAND LOGO? CAN THIS ALSO BE OUR HIGH SCHOOL LOGO? CAN THIS BE EVERYONE IS KIND OF GRAVITATING TOWARDS IT BEING THE LOGO, AND SO THAT'S BASICALLY THE STORY OF HOW THE LOGO WAS MADE, AND I'M BRINGING IT TO YOU ALL TODAY TO SHOW YOU.

THANK YOU.

SO BECAUSE I HAD TWO FACULTY MEMBERS THAT WERE COACHES FOR THE SPORTS WITHIN THE COMMITTEE, IT WAS THE SOCCER COACH AND THE VOLLEYBALL COACH. I KIND OF SHOWED THEM WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE. OKAY.

SO I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE, YOU KNOW, OUR TRADITIONAL LOGO THERE.

IT'S NOT GOING AWAY. THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL LOGO AND ADDITIONAL MORE SPECIFICALLY FOR SPORTING ACTIVITIES.

I STILL LIKE THE IDEA DISTRICT LOGO, PARTICULARLY FOR ELEMENTARIES FOR US AT BOARD CONFERENCE STILL COULD POSSIBLY BE THE MORE TRADITIONAL, BUT ABSOLUTELY. WE'RE ALL AT THE GAMES ON FRIDAY NIGHT, ON TUESDAY NIGHTS, ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

SO WE'LL CERTAINLY HAVE ENOUGH THIS AS WELL. SO IT'S NOT IT'S NOT A REPLACEMENT.

[00:10:01]

IT'S NOT ONE'S OUT ONE'S IN. IT'S JUST AN ADDITIONAL LOGO FOR THE REASONS THAT BRANDON SHARES WITH US.

THANK YOU. ONE THING I WILL SAY THE STUDENTS ARE PRETTY SURE ABOUT IS THEY STILL LIKE THE LE ON ITS OWN.

THEY DO NOT WANT THAT TO GO AWAY AND SO I JUST WANT TO MAKE THAT CLEAR AS WELL.

I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS WE MIGHT WANT TO THINK ABOUT WHEN WE LOOK AT THESE LOGOS IS, IS THAT BECAUSE WE'RE ALREADY LOOKING AT THE LE? IT'S MORE OF LIKE A TRADITIONAL LA AND IT'S MORE BOXY.

WHEN WE LOOK AT PUTTING SOMETHING THAT'S MORE ANGULAR LIKE THIS, THE DESIGN DOESN'T NECESSARILY MATCH UP AS WELL.

ABSOLUTELY. YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. BETWEEN THE STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD WAS 20 THAT WAS JANUARY. STUDENTS THAT WERE PICKED THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL, AND THEN I HAD ANOTHER TEN STUDENTS AS WELL.

ABSOLUTELY. THANK YOU. DO WE HAVE ANY REPORTS OF THE

[7. Reports of the Superintendent ]

SUPERINTENDENT? I HAVE ONE. I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE IDALIA AMAYA IS HERE. SHE HAS RECENTLY BEEN ELECTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL, AND I THINK WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH.

MICHELLE HAS BEEN OUR CITY COUNCIL LIAISON, BUT NOW IT'S A IDALIA, SO CONGRATULATIONS ON THAT.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU. CONGRATULATIONS ON CITY COUNCIL.

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT. I THINK SHE'S INTRODUCED HERSELF TO EVERYBODY INDIVIDUALLY, SO WE'RE VERY APPRECIATIVE YOU'RE HERE AND THE WORK WE'LL GET TO DO WITH YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ON YOUR PLACEMENT AND A LITTLE INSIGHT.

SHE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL WHEN THE HIGH SCHOOL WAS HERE.

DID Y'ALL? DID Y'ALL HAVE. DID YOU HAVE THAT BORING OLD LOGO BACK THEN?

[8. Citizen Input ]

DO WE HAVE ANY CITIZEN INPUT, MISS FLORES? MR. BROWN.

ALRIGHTY, YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES AND I'LL GIVE YOU A ONE MINUTE WARNING. COULD WE HAVE A CLOCK, PLEASE? OKAY.

2025. I'M ALSO A PARENT OF A RISING FRESHMAN.

I'M NOT HERE TO COMPLAIN. SO HOPEFULLY THAT JUST PUTS YOU AT REST.

REAL QUICK. I KNOW THE HIGH SCHOOL IS GETTING READY TO EXPAND, AND SO I WANTED TO OFFER SOMETHING UP FOR CONSIDERATION.

I'M A MILITARY GUY, RETIRED AFTER 29 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN IN EDUCATION FOR SEVEN YEARS MYSELF.

[00:15:03]

SO I KNOW THE CHAIN OF COMMAND. I HAVE FIRST MET WITH MISS GENTRY.

BACK IN DECEMBER, AND ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT I'M GOING TO SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT, I SPOKE TO HER ABOUT AS WELL.

THIS IS ABOUT MARINE CORPS JROTC. THE MISSION OF LITTLE ELM ISD IS TO ENGAGE, EQUIP, AND EMPOWER.

I DON'T KNOW OF A BETTER PROGRAM OFFERED TO STUDENTS THAT WILL DELIBERATELY BUILD LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER IN A YOUNG TEENAGER THEN MARINE CORPS JROTC. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, GET TWO MILITARY GUYS WHO HAVE COLLECTIVELY, 40 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE TO ENGAGE, EQUIP AND EMPOWER THOSE STUDENTS.

I COME FROM A SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH 25,000 STUDENTS, EIGHT HIGH SCHOOLS.

SEVEN OF THEM HAVE JROTC. WE HAD 218 GRADUATES, $36 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIP, AND OUT OF THOSE 218 GRADUATES. WE HAD FIVE VALEDICTORIANS AND TWO SALUTATORIAN, ALL CADETS.

SO THE PROGRAM WORKS, AND I THINK IF YOU GET THE RIGHT PEOPLE, YOU'LL SEE THAT MARINE CORPS JROTC IS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.

SO IT'S NOT JUST A CURRICULUM. IT'S A PROGRAM, AND YOUR INSTRUCTORS, IF THEY DO IT RIGHT, ARE GOING TO GIVE YOUR STUDENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT LEADERSHIP, TO BUILD THEIR CHARACTER, TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, AND I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO BE AT THE FIRST FOOTBALL GAME, AND HOW COOL WOULD IT BE TO SEE YOUR COLOR GUARD MARCH OUT WITH THE COLORS INSTEAD OF LOOKING DOWN AT THE END ZONE AT THE FLAG? I SEE THAT FIRSTHAND.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS. SO BOTTOM LINE, IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

IT'S ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. I'VE BEEN A PRESIDENT AND CEO OF A PRIVATE BOARDING SCHOOL IN VIRGINIA AND HAVE BEEN IN BOARD MEETINGS, AND I UNDERSTAND IT'S ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. WHAT CAN WE AFFORD? BECAUSE YOU HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS. I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT AS A PARENT AND AS A PROFESSIONAL, BUT YOU CAN GET TO MARINE CORPS JROTC INSTRUCTORS FOR LESS THAN YOU WOULD PAY FOR TWO BRAND NEW, FRESH OUT OF COLLEGE TEACHERS. YOU GET WHATEVER YOU OFFER THEM IN SALARY.

YOU GET HALF OF THAT BACK FROM THE MILITARY. THEY PAY HALF OF THEIR SALARY.

SO FOR AN INITIAL INVESTMENT OF ABOUT $85,000 IN SALARY AND ANOTHER 10,000 TO GET THE SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT THEY NEED TO GET STARTED.

YOU'RE OFF AND RUNNING WITH THE JROTC PROGRAM.

AT OUR SCHOOLS, WE'RE SHOWING A 28.8% ENROLLMENT RATE OF STUDENTS INVOLVED IN JROTC.

NOW WE DON'T HAVE THE SAME EXTRACURRICULAR, OR EXCUSE ME, THE CTE TYPE OFFERINGS YOU HAVE SO THAT WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT MORE LIMITED OFFERINGS SO THAT BOLSTERS JROTC, BUT I BELIEVE THAT AT LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL IF YOU LOOK IN THE GREATER NORTH TEXAS AREA, THERE AREN'T TOO MANY SCHOOLS WITH JROTC PROGRAMS, BUT THE MARINE CORPS IS PRIME AND READY RIGHT NOW.

THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SCHOOLS. ROWLETT HIGH SCHOOL GOT ONE TWO YEARS AGO, AND THEY'RE FLOURISHING DOWN THERE.

I THINK IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY, AS YOU'RE LOOKING TO BUILD ONTO THE CURRENT SCHOOL, YOU KNOW, WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN THERE? WHEN I TALKED TO MISS GENTRY, SHE SAID WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT, THEY HAD PLANNED FOR JROTC , AND IT DIDN'T COME TO FRUITION. SO I'M HERE TO PITCH THE MARINE CORPS JROTC PROGRAM.

I'VE SEEN IT FIRSTHAND WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOUNG KIDS.

ANOTHER ASPECT OF IT THAT I THINK IS IMPORTANT, NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE KNOW WHEN YOU'RE A JROTC PROGRAM MARINE CORPS JROTC, YOU CAN NOMINATE THREE STUDENTS, THREE CADETS TO THE UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS ALLOWS YOUR APPLICATION TO BE SEEN.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A NOMINATION, THEY WON'T SEE YOUR YOUR APPLICATION.

IF YOU REACH NAVAL HONOR SCHOOL, WHICH IS A TOP 20% JROTC PROGRAMS IN THE COUNTRY YEARLY GET DESIGNATED.

YOU GET SIX NOMINATIONS TO THE NAVAL ACADEMY, THREE TO THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY, AND THREE TO WEST POINT.

THAT'S 12 STUDENTS WHO MIGHT NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE LOOKED AT BY THE SERVICE ACADEMIES.

MORE COMPETITIVE FOR ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS. MY SON AGAIN, NO COMPLAINTS AS A PARENT.

HE GOT AN ROTC SCHOLARSHIP AND IS GOING TO OKLAHOMA, AND HE WANTED TO GO TO TEXAS A&M, BUT THEY WERE A LITTLE FULL, AND SO ALSO, IT'S NOT A RECRUITING PROGRAM. MARINE CORPS JROTC IS DELIBERATE.

I SEE MY TIME, MA'AM, AND I DID MY OWN. SO SO AGAIN, I THINK THE STUDENTS WILL HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY IN JROTC .

IT'LL ADD A LOT TO THE COMMUNITY, NOT ONLY OUTSIDE OF THE HIGH SCHOOL, BUT INSIDE THE HIGH SCHOOL.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. I KNOW WE CAN'T DELIBERATE, BUT AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU, SIR, BECAUSE I KNOW WE SPECIFICALLY SPENT $1 MILLION.

[00:20:05]

WE DID NOT. MISS AMAYA, YOU ARE UP NEXT.

GOOD EVENING, SUPERINTENDENT LAMB AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL THE STAFF.

AS SUPERINTENDENT LAMB SAID, MY NAME IS MARIA AMAYA.

I AM RECENTLY ELECTED TO BE DISTRICT FOUR CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, AND I'VE ALSO BEEN APPOINTED TO BE THE LITTLE ELM ISD LIAISON. IT'S AN HONOR. I'M AN ALUM FROM LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL BACK IN 2000, SO IT'S A COMPLETE FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR ME.

I JUST WANTED TO INTRODUCE MYSELF, LET YOU KNOW THAT I'M EXCITED TO BE WORKING WITH YOU ALL TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY, SERVE OUR EDUCATORS, AND OF COURSE, OUR KIDDOS HERE IN LITTLE ELM ISD, AND THIS IS A COMPLETE HONOR, AND I'M ALWAYS A LOBO, ALWAYS WILL BE A LOBO, AND I'M EXCITED TO BE OF SERVICE WITH ALL OF Y'ALL.

SO THANK YOU. YEAH. TO OUR FAMILY. YEAH. THANK YOU.

[9. Action Items ]

AS WE'VE DISCUSSED PREVIOUSLY, WE DO TWO YEAR TERMS. IN CLOSED SESSION, WE WILL NOT BE ELECTING OFFICERS AS WE SERVE TWO YEAR TERMS. WE NEED TO MAKE A MOTION TO DO THIS. SO MOVE.

MR. BEBER MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. MR. ENGLISH MADE A SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

MOTION CARRIES WERE REELECTED FOR ANOTHER YEAR, GUYS.

THE NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS THE APPROVAL OF A 2025-2026 NEW COURSE.

DOCTOR TRAMEL, YOU GET TO COME VISIT WITH US TODAY.

GREAT. GOOD EVENING, BOARD PRESIDENT WATKINS.

MR. LAMB. WE ARE COMING TONIGHT TO REQUEST THE APPROVAL OF A SIXTH GRADE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS DUAL LANGUAGE COURSE. JUST TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT FOR THIS REQUEST AS PART OF JUST A CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.

THE THREE DUAL LANGUAGE PRINCIPALS, MYSELF AND MISS JACKSON, WHO IS OVER OUR DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM, MET WITH MR. LAMB IN THE FALL AND LOOKING AT JUST YOU KNOW, STRENGTHENING AND TAKING OUR DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM UP ANOTHER NOTCH AND POTENTIALLY LOOKING AT A K-12 DUAL LANGUAGE OPTION.

AS A RESULT OF THIS, A TEAM OF US ATTENDED THE LA COSECHA CONFERENCE, AND THIS IS A CONFERENCE THAT IS KNOWN FOR THE LATEST RESEARCH, AND SO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT VENDORS WHO ARE TOUTING A PRODUCT OR WHATEVER, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE THERE. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SOLID PEER REVIEW RESEARCH ON, HOW KIDS ARE ACQUIRING SECOND LANGUAGES, AND IT REALLY HELPED US IN LOOKING AT THAT RESEARCH TO SAY, OKAY, WE'VE GOT A GOOD PROGRAM, HOW CAN WE MAKE IT BETTER? BASED ON THE LATEST RESEARCH.

SO WE CAME BACK. WE CALIBRATED THE THREE DUAL LANGUAGE PRINCIPALS, MR. JACKSON AND I, AND BASED ON WHAT WE HAD LEARNED AT THIS CONFERENCE WE IN THE SPRING MET WITH TEACHERS TO PRESENT THAT TO THEM, AND THEN WE ALSO MET WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL TO SAY PRINCIPALS, TO SAY, HERE'S OUR RESEARCH.

HOW CAN WE BRING THIS PROGRAM UP INTO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR OUR STUDENTS? MR. LAMB MET WITH THAT GROUP AS WELL. AS A RESULT, YOU ALL APPROVED TWO FTES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL.

DUAL LANGUAGE. SO TONIGHT WE ARE COMING TO YOU FOR APPROVAL OF THIS DUAL LANGUAGE COURSE AT SIXTH GRADE.

WE DIDN'T NEED APPROVAL AT SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE BECAUSE THE CODING IS THE SAME.

WE CAN STILL MAKE IT DUAL LANGUAGE, BUT THE CODING IS THE SAME AT SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE.

SO, BUT WE DIDN'T HAVE THIS CODE FOR DUAL LANGUAGE SIXTH GRADE, AND JUST TO GIVE YOU A PEEK AT OUR LONG TERM HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR WE ARE HOPING TO AWARD SEALS OF BILITERACY TO SOME OF THE STUDENTS WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OUR DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM.

[00:25:03]

THEY WOULD JUST HAVE TO HAVE AN 80 AVERAGE IN THEIR ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, THEIR ENGLISH CLASSES, AND THEN ON A SCALE OF 100, AND THEN THEY WOULD COULD COMPLETE THAT REQUIREMENT BY MEETING ANY OF THE OTHER INDICATORS LISTED, LIKE YOU KNOW, WE OFFER SPANISH, THREE AP SPANISH, YOU KNOW, FOUR, FIVE THEY WOULD HAVE TO MAINTAIN LIKE A 3 OR 4 ON THEIR AP EXAM. IN ADDITION TO THE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY OF 80% YOU CAN SEE SCORE OF THREE OR HIGHER ON OR A FOUR OR HIGHER ON AN IB.

WE DON'T HAVE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE, SO THAT WOULDN'T APPLY, BUT ON A NATIONAL ASSESSMENT SCORE A PROFICIENT SCORE ON SPANISH. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT THAT. IF OUR STUDENTS WERE PREVIOUSLY IN AN ESL PROGRAM, THEY WOULD HAVE TO ACHIEVE ADVANCED HIGH ON TELPAS ALSO AND HAVE EXITED AN ESL PROGRAM. SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT POTENTIALLY EXPANDING DUAL LANGUAGE INTO OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL.

WE HAVE A GREAT PLAN IN PLACE. WE FEEL FOR OUR STUDENTS THE WAY? DUAL LANGUAGE PARENTS. BECAUSE WE ARE PROVING THIS IN JUNE WOULD BE NOTIFIED.

THEY WOULD RECEIVE THE EMAIL FOR AND IT WOULD BE AN OPT IN.

POTENTIAL FOR THEIR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN DUAL LANGUAGE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND WHAT THAT MIGHT LOOK LIKE WOULD BE OUR 90 MINUTE READING BLOCK.

45 MINUTES WOULD BE DUAL LANGUAGE, 45 MINUTES WOULD BE IN OR SPANISH, 45 MINUTES IN ENGLISH, AND THOSE TEACHERS WOULD WORK AS A TEAM TO MAKE SURE THAT THE KIDS ARE STILL PROGRESSING IN THEIR READING, WRITING, SPEAKING, AND LISTENING SKILLS. SO JUST BUILDING STRONGER SPANISH PROFICIENCY AND THEN GRADUATING WITH A SEAL OF BILITERACY, HOPEFULLY AS SENIORS. SO THAT IS A LITTLE BIT OF THE BACKSTORY TO WHY WE'RE COMING TO YOU FOR APPROVAL OF A SIXTH GRADE DUAL LANGUAGE COURSE AT THIS TIME. SO ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS, GUYS? WHEN WOULD THE SEAL OF BILITERACY.

WHEN WOULD THAT GO IN? OH. I'M SORRY. WE NEED A MOTION.

SO MOVED. MR. ENGLISH MADE A MOTION. MR. BURTON MADE A SECOND.

OH. NOW WE'RE GOING TO OPEN FOR DISCUSSION. WHEN WOULD THE BILITERACY SEAL GO INTO EFFECT? WHAT? GRADUATING CLASS. WE ARE HOPING TO EXAMINE YOU KNOW, DATA ON OUR SENIORS FOR THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR AND START AS EARLY AS NEXT YEAR, AWARDING THOSE BILITERACY SEAL BILITERACY STATUS.

OKAY. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND. MOTION CARRIES.

THANK YOU, MISS DOCTOR TRAMEL. YOU'RE WELCOME.

OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS ACTUALLY YOU GET TO STAY AND TALK AGAIN.

THE 2025-2026 DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES.

OKAY. SO WE ARE ALSO COMING TONIGHT FOR APPROVAL OF OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES TO OUR DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN.

JUST A REMINDER THAT WE HAVE SIX GOAL AREAS IN OUR DESTINATION 2030 PLAN THAT MISTER LAMB LED A COMMITTEE TO UPDATE THIS PAST YEAR. WE ARE STAYING IN TIGHT ALIGNMENT WITH THAT.

SO OUR SIX GOAL AREAS REMAIN THE SAME. THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THOSE.

WE DO HAVE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES IN THE SIX AREAS IN RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK ON ENGAGING EACH STUDENT, STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBER WITH EXPERIENCES TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS. AGAIN, OUR EMPHASIS IS GOING TO BE ON IMPROVING BEHAVIOR AND DECREASING DISCIPLINE REFERRALS AND PROVIDING OUR EDUCATORS AND KIDS WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL.

AS THE BOARD KNOWS, WE STARTED OUR CONSCIOUS DISCIPLINE EFFORTS LAST YEAR AND WE WILL CONTINUE THOSE WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT PROGRESSING ON THAT IN THAT PROGRAM. SAFETY AND SECURITY. NO CHANGES HERE.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN SAFE, SECURE AND HEALTHY LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS, AND OUR OBJECTIVE WOULD REMAIN THE SAME AS WELL WITH HAVING OUR CAMPUSES AND STAFF AND STUDENTS FEEL SAFE AND SECURE, AND WE'LL MEASURE THAT ON OUR SURVEYS AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

IN THE AREA OF TEACHING AND LEARNING, WE HAVE FOUR GOALS AND A FEW OBJECTIVES.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THE WRITTEN, TAUGHT AND ASSESSED LINE CURRICULUM.

[00:30:03]

I WILL SAY THIS OBJECTIVE HAS CHANGED SLIGHTLY, BECAUSE OUR CURRICULUM IS IN A PLACE WHERE WE NEED TO MOVE TO THE NEXT STEP IN ITS IMPLEMENTATION. SO OUR OBJECTIVE THIS YEAR WILL BE TO SUPPORT CAMPUSES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CURRICULUM TO PROMOTE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT SUCCESS.

GOAL TWO OR REMAINS THE SAME AS IT DID THIS PREVIOUS YEAR, AS DOES THE OBJECTIVE.

SO JUST PROVIDING THAT RIGOR AND THAT ATTENTION TO THOSE SPECIALIZED GROUPS OF STUDENTS IN ADDITION TO ALL LEARNERS, AND THEN OUR THIRD GOAL IS IN THE AREA OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AND PROVIDING OUR STAFF SUPPORT AND GROWING THEIR CAPACITY.

HOPEFULLY THIS WOULD ALSO HELP. MISS BROWN'S GOAL WITH EMPLOYEE RETENTION, BUT TRAINING, MAKING SURE OUR MENTORS ARE TRAINED, MAKING SURE THAT 100% OF OUR TEACHERS ARE TRAINED IN RESEARCH BASED INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES WILL DEMONSTRATE INCREASED EFFICACY IN IMPLEMENTING THOSE PRACTICES AS MEASURED BY OUR STUDENTS SUCCESS AND THEN MAINTAINING SYSTEMS AND STRUCTURES TO SUPPORT PLC AT WORK AND THIS IS IS KIND OF AN ADDITION BECAUSE IT'S TIME FOR US TO SHORE UP THAT TRAINING WE HAD A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO TO MAKE OUR PLCS, OUR PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES, REALLY STRONG.

SO TIGHTENING THAT UP A LITTLE BIT. THEN OUR LAST ONE IN THE AREA OF TEACHING AND LEARNING DEALS IN THE AREA OF CTE AND POST-SECONDARY READINESS.

WE WILL MAINTAIN A COLLABORATION WITH OUR COMMUNITY IN BUSINESSES AND STUDENT WORK BASED LEARNING AS MEASURED BY THE AMOUNT OF INTERNSHIPS AND THE CONNECTIONS WE HAVE WITH THE COMMUNITY FOR OUR STUDENTS.

IN ADDITION TO THAT WE HAD THIS GOAL LAST YEAR.

IT WASN'T A 100% EXPECTATION SINCE IT WAS OUR FIRST YEAR, BUT SCHOOLLINKS IS A PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE ACQUIRED TO HELP OUR PARENTS ACTUALLY CO-CREATE SCHEDULES WITH STUDENTS AND MONITOR THEIR POST-SECONDARY READINESS.

SO PARENTS AT ANY TIME CAN GO IN AND LOOK AT THAT.

WE GET SOME GREAT DATA ON OUR STUDENTS, AND IT HELPS US MONITOR OUR CMR STATUS AS WELL.

THEN IN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CECILIA HAS TWO GOAL AREAS.

ONE IS TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMMUNITY TO BUILD TRUST, SUPPORT AND INVOLVEMENT, AND SHE HAS THREE OBJECTIVES IN THIS GOAL, WHICH IS TO CONDUCT AT LEAST TWO COMMUNITY SURVEYS A YEAR WITH A RESPONSE RATE OF AT LEAST 25%.

PARTICIPATION. ACHIEVE AT LEAST 80% SATISFACTION ON SURVEY QUESTIONS RELATED TO DISTRICT CULTURE AND CLIMATE, AND THEN TO ACHIEVE A 5% NET INCREASE IN STUDENT ENROLLMENT BY TARGETING COMMUNICATION TO NEW FAMILIES THROUGH THE I CHOOSE CAMPAIGN, SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE A SIGN IN YOUR YARD THAT I BELIEVE IS PART OF THAT INITIATIVE AND SO IF SHE MET THE 5% GOAL, THAT WOULD BE AROUND 400 STUDENTS. SO HER SECOND GOAL IS TO FOSTER RELATIONS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO ENHANCE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.

THERE ARE TWO OBJECTIVES IN THIS AREA. ONE IS TO INCREASE DISTRICT ENGAGEMENT OF OUR RETIRED COMMUNITIES BY HOSTING TWO EVENTS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AND CONNECTING THREE SCHOOLS INTENTIONALLY TO A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT TEACHES COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND THEN THE SECOND ONE IS WE JUST HAD THIS MEETING LAST WEEK WOULD BE TO COLLABORATE WITH C&I AND DEVELOP THE SPARK PROGRAM, WHICH IS A PROGRAM WHERE WE ARE HOPING TO BRING COMMUNITY MEMBERS INTO WORK WITH US ON STRENGTHENING OUR STEM INITIATIVE, AND SO THAT MEETING WAS GREAT LAST WEEK, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO GOOD THINGS HAPPENING WITH THAT.

MISS BROWN HAS THE SAME GOAL AND SHE IS STILL TARGETING, RECRUITING, RECOGNIZING AND RETAINING STAFF.

WE HAVE IMPROVED SINCE SHE PUT THESE GOALS, THIS GOAL AND THESE OBJECTIVES IN PLACE, AND SO WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO BUILD ON THAT.

SO NO CHANGES THERE, AND THEN LAST IS WITH OUR BUSINESS OFFICE WE KEPT THIS GOAL.

THE SAME WITH ENSURING FUNDING FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING OPERATIONS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO SUPPORT STUDENT SUCCESS AT ALL LEVELS, AND THEN JUST NAVIGATING THE TRANSITION. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST FULL YEAR OF THAT TRANSITION, AND MAINTAINING HIGH LEVELS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STRONG FINANCIAL POSITION, AS EVIDENCED BY A BALANCED BUDGET, CLEAN AUDIT AND EXTERNAL RECOGNITIONS, AND SO I KNOW THAT MR. WYSE HAS PRESENTED TO THE BOARD WITH LEGISLATION LIKE IT IS WE ARE WORKING TOWARD A BALANCED BUDGET.

SO THAT IS OUR ULTIMATE GOAL. SO WITH THAT ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS? WE ARE COMING. I WILL SAY THE DEIC APPROVED THESE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES TO BE RECOMMENDED TO THE BOARD AT THE MAY 7TH DISTRICT EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL

[00:35:07]

MEETING. IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? MR. ENGLISH MADE THE SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? OKAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THERE BEING NONE. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

MOTION CARRIES. THANK YOU. OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER.

MR. WYSE, YOU ARE UP WITH THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY.

GOOD EVENING AGAIN. BOARD. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE REELECTION.

WE PRESENTED EARLIER TODAY THE AMENDED BUDGET FOR THE 25-26 SCHOOL YEAR, AND I DON'T BELIEVE I STATED EXPRESSLY WHEN WE DID THE PRESENTATION THAT BUDGET ACCOUNTS FOR THE RAISE FOR FIVE AND UP.

FIVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. TEACHERS AND UP A $5,000 IN A $2,500 RAISE FOR TEACHERS WITH 0 TO 4 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND A 3% RAISE TO THE REST OF THE DISTRICT. I APOLOGIZE, I DON'T THINK I EXPRESSLY SAID THAT.

SO THAT COVERS WHAT'S IN THE COMPENSATION PLAN, IN THE CONSENT AGENDA BUT THE BOARD OR THE BOARD? THE ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSED AMENDED BUDGET AS PRESENTED IN THE PUBLIC HEARING.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? OH. I'M SORRY. WE'LL CONSIDER A MOTION.

SO MOVED. MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND? MR. ENGLISH MADE THE SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR? RAISE YOUR HAND. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? I BELIEVE YOU DID A REALLY GOOD JOB DURING THE PUBLIC HEARING. SO THANK YOU FOR THAT, AND YOU'RE ON NEXT TO DISCUSS THE YOUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER.

YES. SO THE NEXT ITEM IS TO CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A LITTLE ELM INVESTMENT OFFICER.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER, BUT BACK IN THE SPRING, WE DID THIS FOR ME SPRING AND FALL.

WE DID THAT FOR ME. WE ALSO RECOMMEND, AND GOOD GENERAL RULE IS TO HAVE A BEST PRACTICE TO HAVE A BACKUP AS WELL.

SO WILL POLK HAS COMPLETED ALL THE NECESSARY TRAINING.

SO IF THERE'S EVER A SITUATION THAT COMES UP WHERE WE NEED TAKE ACTION AND I'M OUT OF THE OFFICE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, WILL CAN STEP UP AND HANDLE THAT. SO HE HAS COMPLETED ALL OF HIS TRAINING, AND WE RECOMMEND THAT THE BOARD APPROVE.

WILL POGUE AS AN INVESTMENT OFFICER FOR LITTLE ELM ISD.

IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. MR. BURTON MADE THE MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND? MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? THERE BEING NONE. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

MOTION CARRIES. THANK YOU ALL. THANK YOU. IT'S RIVETING.

IT'S RIVETING, AND NOW YOU ARE UP WITH THE TASK B RISK MANAGEMENT FUND.

YES. IT IS TIME TO RENEW OUR INSURANCE, AND JUST SOME QUICK HIGHLIGHTS.

THE PROPERTY, FIRE AND EQUIPMENT COVERAGE WENT UP ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILLION.

WE'VE HAD SOME AUTO LIABILITY INCREASE. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS ARE AWARE.

AUTO INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE TOTALING A LOT MORE CARS THAN THEY WERE BEFORE.

SO ALL THOSE CLAIMS ARE COSTING A LOT MORE THAN THEY USED TO.

ANOTHER BIG HIGHLIGHT BASICALLY COMES OUT TO AN INCREASE YEAR OVER YEAR OF ABOUT $300,000, AND THERE'S NOT A LOT OF WIGGLE ROOM ON THAT ONE.

WE RECOMMEND THE APPROVAL OF THE INSURANCE POLICIES AS SUBMITTED.

IS THERE A MOTION? MR. BEBER MADE THE MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND? MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? YES, SIR. 1.6 MILLION.

TOTAL. YES, SIR. I'LL VERIFY IT. YES, THAT SOUNDS ALL RIGHT.

THAT'S THE INCREASE. YEAH. IT WAS THE 300. YEAH.

IT'S GETTING PRICEY OUT THERE. THE MARKET IS STILL HARD.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

MOTION CARRIES. OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS THE FINAL BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE 24- 25 SCHOOL YEAR.

[00:40:04]

YES. SO, AS YOU KNOW, PART OF THE ONE THING WE DO EVERY BOARD MEETING AT THE END OF THE YEAR IS WE AMEND OUR BUDGET.

ONE OF THE THINGS WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE TRYING TO ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING ACCOUNTED FOR AND THAT WE'RE NOT GOING TO BE GOING OVER A FUNCTION IN ANY AREA OVER BUDGET, IN A FUNCTIONAL AREA.

WE HAVE SUBMITTED A SEPARATE COVER THERE FOR YOU GUYS.

THE PROPOSED FINAL AMENDMENT. WE RECOMMEND APPROVING IT AS SUBMITTED.

WE'LL CONSIDER A MOTION. SO MOVED. MR. BIEBER MADE THE MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND? MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? THERE BEING NONE. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED? WE DON'T KNOW WHERE MR. ENGLISH WENT.

YEAH. WERE YOU A PRO, OPPOSED OR IN? APPROVED? MOTION CARRIES. THANK YOU. OKAY. I THINK THAT'S IT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE WILL NOW CONSIDER THE ELSE YOU WANT TO PRESENT.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO PRESENT? YOU KNOW, LET'S TAKE IT A FULL THREE HOURS.

WE WILL CONSIDER A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA.

[10. Consent Agenda ]

DOES ANYBODY WANT TO PULL ANYTHING OUT? IS THERE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA? MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND? MR. BIEBER? MAY THE 2ND. ALL IN FAVOR? RAISE YOUR HAND. MOTION CARRIES, AND SO NOW WE ARE AT BOARD MEMBER

[12. Board Comments ]

COMMENTS. I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR STAYING LATE, ESPECIALLY AS WE ARE IN SUMMER VACATION MODE.

I KNOW WE'RE DOING A LOT OF WORK TO GET EVERYTHING READY FOR THE START OF THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR.

SINCE WE LAST MET, THE BOARD GOT A CHANCE TO TOUR THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND IT IS AMAZING.

WELCOME, MISS AMAYA, TO OUR FAMILY AND THAT'S WHAT I'VE GOT, AND WE'RE GOING TO GO AND WE'RE GOING TO START WITH MISTER MONTEMAYOR.

YOU GET YOUR NEXT. SO ON MY WAY HERE TODAY, THE BOYS ARE LIKE THEY ALWAYS KNOW WHEN I DRESS UP NICE.

I HAVE A BOARD MEETING OR SEMI NICE, AND LIKE IT'S THE SUMMER.

WHAT DO YOU DO? LIKE, WHY DO YOU EVEN MEET? SO I WANT TO THANK OUR CABINET AND EVERYONE HERE TONIGHT.

THERE'S STILL A LOT OF WORK BEING DONE OVER THE SUMMER.

IN FACT, THERE'S SO MUCH WORK BEING DONE SO THAT THE SCHOOL YEAR CAN GO AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE.

SO I THANK YOU FOR YOUR FOR YOUR COMMITMENT OVER THE SUMMER, FOR THE LONG HOURS BEING PUT IN ALL THE WORK THAT'S, THAT'S COMING UP TO DO THIS SUMMER SO THAT WE CAN BE STARTED ON THE BEST FOOT POSSIBLE ONCE THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR STARTS.

START. SO JUST THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, AND THAT'S ALL I WANT TO SAY.

MR. ENGLISH I ECHO MR. MONTEMAYOR THANK YOU FOR COMING UP, TALKING ABOUT THE RTC.

FOR ANYBODY WHO KNOWS, MOST PEOPLE KNOW IN THE SPORT.

I HAVE BEEN PUSHING JROTC FOR YEARS. YEARS, IN FACT, WE WENT OUT AND SPENT QUITE A BIT OF MONEY TO GET JROTC AVAILABLE WITHIN THE DISTRICT AND SET IT UP ACTUALLY IN THE SCHOOLS. SO WE HAVE THE FACILITIES, INFRASTRUCTURE, INFRASTRUCTURE IS IN PLACE FOR IT. UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE TOLD SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT WE ARE NOW FINDING OUT.

SO I REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO HOPEFULLY WORKING ON THIS JROTC THING TO COME FRUITION .

OVER THE SUMMERTIME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. WE REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE HARD WORK THAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING. IT'S KIND OF UNSEEN, BUT IT'S A LOT TO BE DONE. SO THANK YOU FOR MOVING FORWARD.

ALL THE STUFF WE HAVE. MR. BEBER, YOU ARE NEXT.

I'LL BE BRIEF. THANKS FOR EVERYBODY STICKING AROUND THIS EVENING.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR. NEW SCHOOL OPENING.

SO A LOT OF EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING IN LOBO NATION.

THANK YOU. I'LL BE SHORT. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO ATTEND SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE LAST WEEK FOR ME, AND BEING STILL KIND OF THE ROOKIE ON THE ON THE CREW HERE AT EVERY TIME I COME BACK FROM ONE OF THOSE, I'M MORE MOTIVATED TO BE MORE ACTIVE, TO MOVE US FORWARD, AND WITH ALL THE CHANGES COMING THROUGH FROM THE LEGISLATURE, THERE'S A LOT OF HURDLES. WE'RE GOING TO BE JUMPING AND HOOPS WE'RE GOING TO BE JUMPING THROUGH, BUT I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE EXCITING AND AN EXCITING SCHOOL YEAR COMING UP AND LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AGAIN WITH THE NEW ELEMENTARY OPENING UP AND, AND SOME BRIGHT FUTURES WE HOPE FOR SOME OF OUR ATHLETIC TEAMS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SCHOOL YEAR, AND THANK YOU, CABINET, FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND WORK HERE DURING THE OFF SEASON.

MR. LAMB, IT IS YOUR TURN. THANK YOU. A LOT OF WORK WENT INTO TONIGHT.

[13. Superintendent Comments ]

JESSE, THANK YOU TO YOU AND YOUR TEAM TO GET US TO THIS PLACE.

IT'S BEEN IT'S BEEN A LONG, HARD ROAD, AND IT'S NOT OVER.

STILL, FIGURING OUT THESE CHANGES IS NOT NECESSARILY EASY, SO I APPRECIATE THE WORK YOU'VE DONE.

BOARD, I MEANT TO TELL YOU EARLIER, AND I'LL SAY IT HERE.

ALSO, IN THIS BUDGET, WE'VE ADDED A FIFTH DAY--TELL ME IF I'M WRONG, ASHELEY--TO OUR LEAVE, AND SO WE'RE GOING FROM FOUR DAYS OF, HELP ME, FOUR DAYS TO FIVE DAYS OF LOCAL LEAVE, WHICH IS A BIG THING FOR US.

WE WERE ONE OF THE ONLY IN THE AREA THAT WAS AT FOUR.

SO GOING TO FIVE IS A BIG DEAL. SO IT'S ANOTHER THING THAT WE GET TO TOUT ALONG WITH THESE RAISES AND ALONG WITH OUR STARTING SALARY GOES UP ABOVE 60,000, AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. SO A LOT OF GOOD THINGS THERE.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF. THANK YOU, BRANDON, FOR YOUR WORK ON THE ON THE LOBO.

I DON'T KNOW IF WE'RE SUPPOSED TO SAY THESE KIND OF THINGS OR NOT. THIS IS PROBABLY BRANDON'S SWAN SONG FOR US BECAUSE HE HAS TAKEN A POSITION IN ANOTHER DISTRICT, A LITTLE HIGHER RANKING, AND SO WE'RE SAD FOR OURSELVES, BUT EXCITED FOR HIM.

I THINK THAT'S WHY HE WORE A SUIT. HE'S GOING TO DRESS A LITTLE BETTER OVER THERE THAN HERE, I GUESS, BUT , MAN, HE DID AMAZING WORK FOR US RIGHT HERE AS HE'S ON HIS WAY OUT.

I'M GLAD HE GOT THAT DONE FOR US BEFORE HE SLIPPED ON, AND BRANDON, WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU'VE DONE, AND WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK IN YOUR YOUR NEW ENDEAVOR, BUT IT IS.

IT'S A GREAT TIME TO BE A LOBO. A LOT OF EXCITING THINGS.

WE'VE ACKNOWLEDGED OUR THEME GOING INTO CONVOCATION IS MOMENTUM, AND EVERY DAY WE CONTINUE TO SEE JUST MOMENTUM CARRYING US FORWARD.

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING AND THINGS WE CAN BUILD ON AND JUST GET THAT BALL ROLLING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

SO BE LOOKING FOR MOMENTUM. BE ABLE TO POINT OUT THE MOMENTUM.

WE'VE GOT A LOT OF GOOD MOMENTUM GOING. I THINK THIS THIS LOGO, THIS SONG, THESE R AISES ARE GOING TO GO A LONG WAY TO HELP US CONTINUE WITH THE MOMENTUM WE'VE GOT GOING. SO THANK YOU.

SCHOOL BOARD. YOU'RE THE ONES THAT MAKE IT HAPPEN.

YOU'RE THE ONES THAT ALLOW THAT BALL TO ROLL FORWARD.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK AND YOUR DEDICATION. WE APPRECIATE YOU.

GLAD TO HAVE CITY COUNCIL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRESENTATION TONIGHT.

GLAD YOU ALL WERE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THOSE THINGS.

SO IT'S I JUST WANT TO KEEP TALKING. WE'RE GOING TO GET OUT A LITTLE TOO EARLY, SO LET'S JUST.

WHAT ELSE CAN WE TALK ABOUT? I'M KIDDING. GREAT DAY TO BE A LOBO.

WE WILL CONSIDER A MOTION TO ADJOURN. SO MOVED.

MR. BEBER MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? MR. BURTON MADE THE SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

WE ARE ADJOURNED AT 8:17.
