MRS. BROWN, WILL YOU PLEASE INTRODUCE OUR LEADERS OF THE PACK? THANK YOU SO MUCH, PRESIDENT WATKINS. YES, I WILL, I'M HAPPY TO INTRODUCE THE APRIL LEADERS OF THE PACK FOR LITTLE ELM ISD.

FOR THOSE THAT ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE LEADERS OF THE PACK PROGRAM, WE PUT OUT THE CALL TO OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, ALL OF YOU GUYS AND ALL OF OUR PARENTS AND STAFF AND STUDENTS ACROSS THE DISTRICT, TO SEND US AN EMAIL, SEND US A NOMINATION FORM FOR OUR STAFF MEMBERS THAT ARE GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY, THOSE THAT ARE MAKING A SIGNIFICANTLY HUGE IMPACT IN THE LIVES OF OUR STUDENTS, AND WE GET LOTS AND LOTS OF RECOMMENDATIONS, LOTS OF NOMINATIONS, AND EACH MONTH WE'RE TASKED WITH THE VERY DIFFICULT TASK OF BRINGING TWO ONLY TWO, NARROWING IT DOWN TO TWO AND BRINGING THOSE TO THE BOARD MEETING FOR SPECIAL RECOGNITION.

SO I'D LIKE TO DIRECT YOUR ATTENTION TO OUR SCREEN AS WE RECOGNIZE OUR VERY FIRST LEADER OF THE PACK FOR THE EVENING, MISS PERSICK.

YES. I NOMINATED MISS PERSICK FOR LEADERS OF THE PACK BECAUSE OF HOW AMAZING SHE'S DOING WITH MY DAUGHTER, ANDREA. SHE, THIS IS HER FIRST YEAR IN EDUCATION AND SHE HAS BEEN AMAZING WITH HER.

SHE HAS REALLY GROWN AND IT SHOWS EVERY DAY. SHE LOVES GOING TO SCHOOL AND MOST PART OF IT IS BECAUSE OF MISS PERSICK.

SHE'S VERY WELCOMING. SHE CARES, SHE TRULY GENERALLY CARES FOR THE KIDS.

SHE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. AND THIS IS THESE ARE THE TEACHERS THAT AS PARENTS, WE REALLY WOULD LIKE OUR KIDS TO ENCOUNTER THROUGHOUT THEIR WHOLE YEARS OF EDUCATION.

SO WE WERE REALLY LUCKY TO GET HER OUR FIRST YEAR SO SHE CAN SET THE TONE FOR THE REST OF HER SCHOOL YEARS.

I'M SO PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT JULIA PERSICK, OUR KINDERGARTEN DUAL LANGUAGE TEACHER, IS OUR LEADER OF THE PACK FOR OAK POINT ELEMENTARY. MISS PERSIC IS AN AMAZING DUAL LANGUAGE TEACHER.

SHE REALLY IS DEDICATED TO HER STUDENTS AND THEIR ACADEMICS.

SHE IS ALWAYS COMMUNICATING WITH HER PARENTS AND ENSURING THAT HER STUDENTS ARE GROWING BOTH IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.

IT'S REALLY HARD TO TEACH KINDERGARTEN. IF YOU'VE EVER DONE IT, YOU'LL KNOW THAT IT IS NOT EASY TO GET KINDERGARTNERS ALL IN LINE, OR FOR THEM TO CONTINUE DOING THEIR WORK WITHOUT GETTING DISTRACTED, BUT MISS PERSICK DOES AN AMAZING JOB.

HER DEDICATION IS VERY MUCH NEEDED AND WE TRULY APPRECIATE HAVING HER AT OAK POINT ELEMENTARY.

SHE ALWAYS WORKS WITH THE STUDENTS IN A WAY THAT THEY UNDERSTAND, AND SHE GETS US READY FOR EVERYTHING THAT WE NEED TO DO.

WHENEVER STUDENTS ARE FEELING DOWN. SHE'LL PULL THEM INTO THE OFFICE AND SHE DOES EVERYTHING FABULOUSLY LIKE SHE JUST DOES IT.

AND THEN THE SECOND REASON IS SHE PREPPED US FOR COMPETITION LIKE NO OTHER TEACHER EVER HAS.

LIKE, I'VE HAD CHOIR TEACHERS WHO PREP US FOR PRE UIL SHE PREPS US FOR UIL AND FOR ANY OTHER COMPETITION THAT WE MAY HAVE.

LIKE WE'RE GOING TO PERFORM AT THE MURCHISON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AT UNT, AND THAT'S GOING TO BE A BIG ONE.

AND SHE'S PREPPING US FOR THAT. AND ALL THE MUSIC THAT WE HAVE TO DO.

THAT'S VERY COOL BECAUSE IF ONE STUDENT ISN'T GETTING IT, SHE WILL FIX WHAT'S WHAT THE STUDENT IS DOING.

AND SHE WORKS INDIVIDUALLY AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE IN A BIG GROUP.

USUALLY IT IS. AND SHE FINDS ENTERTAINING WAYS TO COOPERATE AND INTEGRATE THE STUDENTS IN DIFFERENT WAYS.

THAT'S WHY I NOMINATED HER FOR LEADER OF THE PACK.

I AM SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT SARAH ROLFE IS WALKER'S LEADER OF THE PACK.

SHE DOES AMAZING THINGS FOR KIDS. THEY REALLY RESPECT HER.

SHE COMMUNICATES REALLY WELL WITH PARENTS, DOES A GREAT JOB WITH THAT.

THEY NEVER HAD TO WORRY ABOUT HAVING THEIR DESK CLEANED BECAUSE SHE JUST DID IT, AND SHE DID IT SO QUIETLY AND SO KINDLY, AND THAT'S JUST WHO SHE IS. AS A STUDENT IN MY CLASS, EVEN SOMETIMES IT'S REMINDED MS. COOCH, WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING OR WHERE HER PENCIL IS OR WHAT IT IS THAT I'VE LOST IN THE ROOM AT WHATEVER TIME.

AND SHE'S ALWAYS LIKE THAT SO QUIET, SO KIND, AND JUST DOES IT WITHOUT EVER BEING ASKED, WITHOUT EVER BEING TOLD.

AND HER CLASSMATES ALWAYS HAVE NICE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HER.

BUT IT SHOWED THE THOUGHTFUL AND CONSIDERATE NATURE THAT MAKES HIM SUCH A VALUED MEMBER OF OUR SCHOOL.

IN ADDITION TO BEING A ROLE MODEL FOR OTHERS, GRADY IS INCREDIBLY DEPENDABLE.

HE TAKES HIS SCHOOLWORK SERIOUSLY AND ALWAYS COMPLETES ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME.

APPROVED STATE DEVELOPED OER INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS KNOWN AS BLUEBONNET LEARNING.

SO OER MATERIALS ARE MATERIALS THAT THE STATE HAS PURCHASED.

THEY DO OWN THEM. AND THEY ARE HIGHLY ALIGNED TO THE RIGOR OF THE TEAKS AND VERY INTENTIONAL.

THEY ARE WHAT WE CALL RBISS ALIGNED. AND YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THAT TERMINOLOGY WITH SOME PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, BUT RBISS STANDS FOR RESEARCH BASED INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES.

AND SO THEY ARE VERY ALIGNED TO CURRENT RESEARCH.

THE STATE HAS REBRANDED EVERYTHING AND MADE SOME UPDATES TO THE ASSESSMENTS TO STRENGTHEN THEM AND BE MORE ALIGNED TO THE WAY THE STUDENTS ARE ASSESSED BY THE STATE ON THE STAR. AND THEN THEY HAVE ACQUIRED CARNEGIE MATH, AND THEY ARE CALLING THAT BLUEBONNET LEARNING FOR THE SECONDARY LEVEL. THE PLANS INCLUDE PLANNING AND EXECUTION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION, AND ACCESS TO FUNDING ENTITLEMENT.

THE TRANSITION PLAN APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WILL MAKE BLUEBONNET LEARNING THE PRIMARY RESOURCE FOR LEARNING AND ENSURE QUALITY IMPLEMENTATION.

WE'RE GETTING $20 PER STUDENT, BUT WE DON'T BANK THE DIFFERENCE.

I WILL ALSO SAY THAT ADOPTING AN OER RESOURCE FREES THE TEACHER FROM WRITING LESSON PLANS AND ALLOWS THEM TO SPEND THEIR TIME ON WHAT THE STATE IS CALLING INTERNALIZATION AND OPTIMIZATION.

AND WE'LL TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THAT. THE HERE IS HERE ARE THE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE TWO PLANS.
