WILL GO. MOVE ON TO THE SUPERINTENDENT SPOTLIGHT AND OUR LEADERS OF THE PACK, MRS. BROWN. GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT WATKINS. SUPERINTENDENT LAMB, BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

AS OUR HAS BECOME OUR NORMAL MONTHLY, CUSTOM MONTHLY TRADITION, WE ARE REALLY HONORED AND EXCITED AND PRIVILEGED TO RECOGNIZE THIS MONTH'S LEADERS OF THE PACK.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T BEEN TO A MEETING BEFORE, OUR LEADERS OF THE PACK ARE STAFF MEMBERS, BE IT TEACHERS, BE IT SECRETARIES IN OUR BUILDINGS, COUNSELORS, CUSTODIANS, CAFETERIA WORKERS WHO ARE REALLY EXCELLING AND GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.

THEY'RE MAKING AN IMPACT ON THEIR CAMPUSES AND IN OUR COMMUNITY.

WE ASKED OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS FOR NOMINATIONS FOR LEADERS OF THE PACK, AND WE GET OVERWHELMING AND OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF NOMINATIONS EVERY SINGLE MONTH.

AND SO THEN WE HAVE THE VERY DIFFICULT TASK OF NARROWING IT DOWN TO THE TWO LEADERS OF THE PACK THAT WE RECOGNIZE HERE AT OUR BOARD MEETINGS EVERY SINGLE MONTH.

SO WE ARE GOING TO START WITH OUR VERY FIRST LEADER OF THE PACK THAT WE'RE RECOGNIZING FOR THIS MONTH OF OCTOBER, WHICH IS MISS BLAIR CARLINO.

IF YOU'LL WATCH THE VIDEO.

I NOMINATED MISS CARLINO FOR THE LEADER OF THE PACK AWARD.

MISS CARLINO IS AN AMAZING TEACHER.

SHE ENGAGES SO MANY STUDENTS IN HER CLASSROOM.

SHE CREATES SUCH A SAFE AND LOVING SPACE FOR HER STUDENTS.

SHE ALWAYS HAS AMAZING CLASS MANAGEMENT.

SHE'S SILLY. SHE'S FUN.

ALL THE KIDS FLOCK TO HER.

SHE JUST REALLY EMBODIES WHAT A PRE-K TEACHER SHOULD BE.

SHE HELPED ME A LOT LAST YEAR.

I'M GONNA START CRYING.

SHE HELPED ME WHEN I NEEDED HELP IN A CLASSROOM SITUATION.

SO I REALLY APPRECIATE HER AND HER LOVE FOR HER KIDS AND HER LOVE FOR HER COWORKERS.

SO CONGRATULATIONS, MISS CARLINO.

HELLO, LOBOS.

I'M MR. HIGGINBOTHAM, I'M THE PRINCIPAL AT SELLARS, AND I'M HERE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT OUR LEADER OF THE PACK, MISS CARLINO.

MISS CARLINO IS AN ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES.

SHE HAS GREAT RAPPORT WITH HER STUDENTS AND WITH THE STAFF AND WITH PARENTS.

THIS IS EVIDENT FROM AN ARD THAT WE HAD RECENTLY, WHEN SHE BEGAN TO SPEAK ABOUT ONE OF HER STUDENTS AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT THEY ARE MAKING.

YOU CAN SEE THE JOY AND EXCITEMENT IN HER FACE.

THIS ONLY STRENGTHENED THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SHE AND THE PARENT THAT SHE HAD ALREADY BUILT, AND WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE HER ON OUR CAMPUS AND OUR STUDENTS AND OUR STAFF AND OUR SCHOOL ARE IN GOOD HANDS WITH MISS CARLINO.

SO ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU, MISS CARLINO, FOR BEING THE LEADER OF THE PACK FOR [INAUDIBLE].

[00:05:06]

IF YOU'LL JOIN ME IN GIVING A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO MISS BLAIR CARLINO.

COME ON DOWN, MISS CARLINO.

PRESIDENT WATKINS, MR. LAMB. IS PERFECTLY FINE, THANK YOU.

SO, WHILE WE'RE GETTING A PICTURE WITH MISS CARLINO AND OUR BOARD PRESIDENT, OUR SUPERINTENDENT, SUPERINTENDENT, A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT HER.

SHE HAS BEEN IN THE DISTRICT FOR SIX YEARS.

AND THEN WE'LL ASK MR. HIGGINBOTHAM IF HE CAN COME DOWN AND JOIN US FOR A PICTURE AS WELL AS MISS CARLINO BROUGHT A FRIEND OF HERS NAMED PATRICK.

IF YOU'LL BOTH COME DOWN AND JOIN US FOR A PICTURE AS WELL.

MISS CARLINO HAS BEEN IN LITTLE ELM ISD FOR SIX YEARS, AND HER FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING IS WHEN STUDENTS EXPERIENCE THAT MOMENT, WHEN SOMETHING CONNECTS AND WHEN SHE'S SEEING KNOWLEDGE APPLIED IN DIFFERENT AREAS, WHEN STUDENTS ARE CONSTANTLY LEARNING AND WHEN SHE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH AWESOME EDUCATORS.

AND BEFORE MISS CARLINO HAS A SEAT, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE RECOGNIZE RBCFU.

RBCFU IS OUR CORPORATE SPONSOR FOR LEADERS OF THE PACK, AND THEY ARE PROVIDING SPONSORSHIP GIFTS TO OUR LEADERS OF THE PACK.

SO IF YOU'LL COME UP AND JOIN US, WE HAVE OUR RBFCU REPRESENTATIVE HERE WITH US THIS EVENING.

AND MR. BUCKNER, IF WE COULD GET ONE MORE PICTURE WITH HIM, THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC.

WE'RE REALLY APPRECIATIVE OF RBCFU AND THEIR CONSTANT SUPPORT OF ALL OF OUR DISTRICT INITIATIVES.

ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

CONGRATULATIONS, MISS CARLINO.

AND NOW WE'LL RECOGNIZE OUR SECOND LEADER OF THE PACK FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, MISS SARAH JUAREZ.

CALIXTO, IF YOU'LL WATCH THE VIDEO.

HEY, SARAH. I'M SO PROUD TO BE HERE MAKING THIS VIDEO AND ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE DISTRICT.

YOUR PERSISTENCE, DRIVE, AND DEDICATION TO YOUR JOB IS SERVING YOU WELL AND MAKING THE DISTRICT A MUCH BETTER PLACE TO WORK.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS AWARD.

AS LEADER OF THE PACK AND KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE.

AS LONG AS I HAVE BEEN AT WALKER, SARAH HAS ALWAYS SHOWN SUCH GREAT INITIATIVE.

SHE'S VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT SHE DOES, AND SHE HAS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST STANDARDS.

AND SHE MAKES OUR CAMPUS BETTER.

SHE MAKES OUR TEACHERS, OUR STUDENTS, OUR PARENTS, ALL OF US BETTER.

BY HOLDING US ACCOUNTABLE TO KEEPING OUR BUILDING BEAUTIFUL AND IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AND COMFORTABLE.

AND AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, SHE TOOK INITIATIVE TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR OUR STAFF.

THAT WAS VERY IMPACTFUL.

I LOVE THAT SHE IS CONFIDENT AND PASSIONATE AND BOLD AND SPEAKS UP.

SHE ALSO AFTER SCHOOL, SHE HELPS OUR RECEPTIONIST BY PICKING UP HER DAUGHTER OFF THE BUS.

SHE IS SUCH A TEAM PLAYER.

ONE THING I BROUGHT WITH ME ARE THESE TWO LITTLE DUCKIES.

EVERY CHRISTMAS, SARAH GIVES THESE OUT TO ALL THE STAFF WITH A LITTLE INSPIRATIONAL NOTE OR A FUNNY MESSAGE, AND IT JUST MAKES US ALL FEEL CARED FOR AND MAKES US FEEL LIKE A FAMILY.

AND THAT'S JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY SARAH IS A LEADER OF THE PACK.

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR SECOND LEADER OF THE PACK, SARAH JUAREZ.

CALIXTO. MISS CALIXTO, IF YOU'LL COME ON DOWN.

WE'LL ASK PRESIDENT WATKINS AND SUPERINTENDENT LAMB TO JOIN US IN THE FRONT TO RECOGNIZE YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS. THANK YOU.

HERE WE GO.

WHILE WE TAKE A FEW PICTURES.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT SARAH.

SHE IS A CUSTODIAN AT WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL.

SHE'S BEEN WITH OUR DISTRICT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE, AND WE'LL ASK MR. COGDILL TO JOIN US.

WHO'S OUR DIRECTOR FOR MAINTENANCE AND GROUNDS? AND ALSO HER FAMILY.

SHE HAS HER FAMILY HERE. IF YOU GUYS WILL COME DOWN AS WELL.

ONE OF HER FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT HER JOB IS BEING IN THE COMMUNITY, THE LITTLE ELM COMMUNITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT AT WALKER THAT SHE GETS TO WORK WITH.

THE SENSE OF BELONGING TO A FAMILY IS ONE OF HER FAVORITE THINGS.

SARAH SAYS IT'S NOT JUST A JOB.

BEING AT WALKER AND BEING IN LITTLE ELM ISD IS A SECOND HOME.

[00:10:05]

AND LET'S ADD RBCFU AGAIN, OUR CORPORATE SPONSORS.

IF YOU'LL MISS CALIXTO, IF YOU'LL PAUSE ONE SECOND AND WE'LL GET EVERYBODY TO GET A PICTURE WITH OUR RBCFU COMMUNITY PARTNER.

CONGRATULATIONS, SARAH.

WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU.

SUPERINTENDENT LAMB, PRESIDENT WATKINS.

THAT CONCLUDES OUR LEADERS OF THE PACK RECOGNITION.

THANK YOU. MR. BARTLETT. YOU'RE UP NEXT.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR US THIS MONTH.

WHY HAVE SOME STUDENTS THAT WE'RE GOING TO HONOR THIS EVENING? SO IF WE COULD START OFF, WE ARE GOING TO START OFF WITH BRANT ELEMENTARY, AND MISS CUSTER IS HERE.

SO MISS CUSTER IS GOING TO PRESENT HER AWARD.

OKAY. IF I COULD HAVE JULIE COME ON UP AND BRING HER FAMILY.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT JULIE VELASQUEZ.

JULIE IS A FOURTH GRADER AT BRANT ELEMENTARY.

AND THESE WERE THE NOMINATIONS FROM THE TEACHERS FROM MISS MARTINEZ, HER HOMEROOM TEACHER.

SHE SAYS JULIE IS AN EXTREMELY POSITIVE STUDENT.

EVEN WHEN JULIE IS FACED WITH WHAT SEEMS LIKE AN IMPOSSIBLE TASK, SHE NEVER GIVES UP.

SHE HAS SHOWN SO MUCH GROWTH THIS FIRST NINE WEEKS.

SHE HAS NOT ONLY A HARD WORKER, BUT A GOOD FRIEND TO EVERYONE.

SHE SHOWS SO MUCH COMPASSION AND EMPATHY TO OTHER STUDENTS AND WE ARE SO INCREDIBLY LUCKY TO HAVE HER IN OUR CLASS, MISS RECKER, THE MUSIC TEACHER, SAYS JULIE GIVES HER BEST IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES. IN MUSIC, SHE'S KIND AND WILLING TO HELP OTHERS.

AND MISS MORGAN, THE ART TEACHER, SAYS SHE IS THE BIGGEST SWEETHEART WITH THE BIGGEST SMILE.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER.

SHE'S A BIG HELPING HAND IN THE CLASSROOM IN SUCH A HARD WORKER.

SHE'S ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP THOSE AROUND HER AND IS AN OVERALL GREAT STUDENT.

SO CONGRATULATIONS JULIE.

WE'RE VERY PROUD AND LUCKY TO HAVE YOU AS OUR STUDENT.

AND I THANK MISS CURTIS.

JENNA CURTIS IS PRESENTING.

YEAH. THANK YOU.

JENNA. THANK YOU. HI, I'M MISS CURTIS.

I'M AUGUST TERRELL'S FIRST GRADE TEACHER.

I NOMINATED AUGUST BECAUSE HE'S AN ALL AROUND AMAZING FIRST GRADE STUDENT.

HE FOLLOWS DIRECTIONS.

HE'S RESPECTFUL. HE CARES ABOUT EVERY SINGLE KID IN OUR CLASSROOM.

HE ENRICHES OUR CONVERSATIONS, AND HE'S NEVER AFRAID TO STRIVE FOR MORE.

HE EXTENDS HIS OWN EDUCATION ALL THE TIME.

HE ALWAYS WANTS TO DO MORE AND PRESENTS IDEAS TO OUR CLASSROOM.

SO I'M PROUD OF THE STUDENT HE IS, AND I'M PROUD OF THE LITTLE HUMAN BEING THAT HE IS.

SO CONGRATULATIONS. AUGUST .

WILL THE FAMILY OF AUGUST COME DOWN, PLEASE? YEAH. Y'ALL COME ON DOWN.

THERE YOU ARE. OH, THANK YOU.

[00:15:11]

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

AUGUST. I KNOW I'VE SEEN MR. MENEZES AND MISS GLITSOS IN THE CROWD.

IF YOU ALL WANT TO COME UP AND HONOR YOUR STUDENT FROM HACKBERRY.

YES. ALL RIGHT.

GOOD EVENING. IF I COULD HAVE HARLAN HAYNES AND HIS FAMILY COME ON UP HERE AND JOIN US.

SO WHEN I ASK FOR NOMINATIONS FROM MY TEACHERS, THEY WRITE A LITTLE PARAGRAPH TELLING ME WHY A STUDENT SHOULD BE CHOSEN.

I'M GOING TO LET MISS GLITSOS SHARE THAT WITH US TODAY BECAUSE IT WAS AN EASY CHOICE THIS TIME.

THANK YOU.

I AM HONORED TO NOMINATE HARLAND HAYNES FOR EXEMPLIFYING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRUE GLOBAL LEADER IN OUR KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

HARLAND HAS CONSISTENTLY DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP QUALITIES THAT SET A POSITIVE EXAMPLE FOR HIS PEERS.

HE IS HARDWORKING, SHOWN DEDICATION TO HIS LEARNING, AND A WILLINGNESS TO TACKLE CHALLENGES WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

HIS KINDNESS SHINES THROUGH IN HIS INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS, ALWAYS EXTENDING A HELPING HAND AND OFFERING WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO HIS CLASSMATES.

HE IS NOT ONLY A GREAT FRIEND, BUT ALSO A ROLE MODEL, SHOWING OTHERS HOW TO WORK TOGETHER AND TREAT ONE ANOTHER WITH RESPECT.

WHAT TRULY STANDS OUT ABOUT HARLAND IS HIS NATURAL ABILITY TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

HE CONSISTENTLY DOES WHAT IS EXPECTED OF HIM AND GOES BEYOND THAT, HELPING OTHERS UNDERSTAND HOW TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND RESPECTFUL IN THE CLASSROOM.

HIS ACTIONS INSPIRE THOSE AROUND HIM TO FOLLOW IN HIS FOOTSTEPS, EMBODYING WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A LEADER IN EVERY SENSE.

FOR THESE REASONS, I PROUDLY NOMINATE HARLAN FOR THE LOUISVILLE SPOTLIGHT AND CELEBRATE THE IMPACT HE MAKES IN OUR CLASSROOM EACH DAY.

THANKS TO HARLAN.

321. CONGRATULATIONS.

THANK YOU. HARLAND.

NOW WE HAVE LAKEVIEW AND MR. RAZZA. I THINK HE IS HERE.

I SAW CHRIS.

ALL RIGHT. LAKEVIEW WOULD LIKE TO HONOR ONE OF OUR SENIORS AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL.

ONE OF OUR FIFTH GRADERS, PIETRO CASAGRANDE.

COME ON DOWN, SIR.

AND AS HE MAKES HIS WAY DOWN HIS TEACHERS TALK VERY HIGHLY OF HIM.

PIETRO IS A VERY KIND TO EVERYONE AROUND HIM.

HE IS ALWAYS FOCUSED ON DOING HIS ABSOLUTE BEST IN CLASS.

HE'S GOT THE MOST AMAZING GRADES EVER.

VERY DEDICATED TO BECOMING THE BEST VERSION OF HIMSELF.

PETER WAS A MODEL STUDENT, WILLING TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND IN EVERYTHING THAT HE DOES.

HE TRULY DESERVES TO BE RECOGNIZED AS A SUPERINTENDENT STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR HIS HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.

CONGRATULATIONS. PARENTS, WHY DON'T YOU COME DOWN? FAMILY.

OKAY. OUR SUPERINTENDENT SPOTLIGHT STUDENT FOR OAK POINT ELEMENTARY IS MELANIE AND MELANIE.

HERE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT YOUR TEACHERS MENTIONED ABOUT YOU AND WHY THEY NOMINATED YOU.

[00:20:04]

SO IT SAYS MELANIE DEMONSTRATES CHARACTERISTICS THAT EVERY TEACHER WANTS TO SEE IN THEIR STUDENTS WHILE SHE IS QUIET.

SHE IS ALSO A LEADER.

MELANIE CONSISTENTLY DOES HER WORK TO THE VERY BEST OF HER ABILITY, AND HELPS OTHERS RIGHT AWAY IN A VERY KIND, PATIENT, AND TRULY HELPFUL WAY RIGHT NOW.

MELANIE EXEMPLIFIES LEADERSHIP BY HELPING TUTOR A THIRD GRADE STUDENT WHO IS NEW TO THE COUNTRY.

SHE HELPS HIM WITH SPANISH PHONICS AND IS SUCH AN AMAZING TEACHER FOR HIM.

YOU SHOULD CONSIDER TEACHING.

IT SAYS. I HAVE LOVED GETTING TO KNOW MELANIE THESE PAST TWO YEARS AND WATCH HER GROW INTO THIS INCREDIBLY MATURE AND PASSIONATE LEARNER.

SHE IS THE EPITOME FOR OUR DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM AT OAK POINT ELEMENTARY.

COME DOWN FROM PRESTWICK.

HI, EVERYBODY.

THIS IS BRIAN VELASCO AND HE IS A THIRD GRADER AT PRESTWICK ELEMENTARY.

AND HIS TEACHERS HAD A LOT OF REALLY GREAT THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HIM.

THE WHOLE THIRD GRADE TEAM CAME TOGETHER TO NOMINATE BRIAN FOR THIS AWARD.

HE IS HARD WORKING, KIND AND HELPFUL TO EVERYONE AND WE ACTUALLY CALL HIM THE KING OF COMPOSURE.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND HIM, HE IS ALWAYS A CALMING PRESENCE IN EVERY CLASSROOM.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF HIS HARD WORK, DEDICATION, AND WE ARE GRATEFUL WE GET TO BE A SMALL PART OF HELPING HIM GROW INTO A WONDERFUL YOUNG MAN.

CONGRATULATIONS, BRIAN.

CONGRATULATIONS. WE'RE VERY PROUD OF YOU.

THAT'S AWESOME. CONGRATULATIONS.

THANK YOU. SO.

ALL RIGHT. NOW WE HAVE ZELLERS.

WE'RE GOING TO HONOR AND MISS PERALEZ AND MR. H ARE GOING TO DO THE HONOR.

FOR SURE.

HELLO, EVERYONE.

MISS PERALEZ, I'M IVAN FLORES TEACHER, AND I HAVE THE PLEASURE TO HAVE THIS LITTLE GUY IN MY CLASSROOM.

IVAN IS VERY RELIABLE STUDENT.

HIS TEACHERS AND PEERS CAN ALWAYS TRUST HIM.

HIS FRIENDS ENJOY BEING AROUND IVAN BECAUSE HE'S FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS TELLS THE TRUTH, EVEN IF THEY DON'T LIKE IT HERE.

YES, HE'S VERY HONEST.

HE'S ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OTHERS AND LIKES TO COMMUNICATE HIS THOUGHTS.

AND EVERYONE LOVES HIM.

HE'S A VERY GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR HIS PEERS.

HE HAS COME TO SCHOOL EVERY SINGLE DAY SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

[00:25:03]

HE HASN'T MISSED ANY DAY.

WE ARE VERY PROUD TO HAVE HIM AS A SELLER'S LITTLE LOVER.

THOMAS PERALEZ.

SO THAT'S ALL OF OUR ELEMENTARY CAMPUSES.

WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO OUR SECONDARY CAMPUSES.

SO, MISS DE GARCIA MARINA, YOU WANT TO COME DOWN AND REPRESENT STRIKE.

GOOD EVENING. WELCOME.

HELLO, EVERYONE.

THIS IS LILY BENTLEY.

SHE IS OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR STRIKE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

AND THIS IS THE AWARD THAT SHE WILL BE GETTING FOR STUDENT OF THE MONTH.

LILY, I WANT TO READ A COUPLE OF THINGS ABOUT YOU THAT YOUR TEACHER SAID.

MISS MINNIE. HER ENGLISH SEVENTH GRADE HONORS TEACHER SAID LILY IS HARDWORKING, HELPS OTHERS, AND GOES OVER AND BEYOND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.

MR. JARRETT, HER INTERMEDIATE ART TEACHER, SAID WOOHOO! WELL DESERVING INDEED.

LILY IS AN AMBITIOUS AND TALENTED YOUNG LADY WHO PROVES ON A REGULAR BASIS WITH HER ACTIONS THAT SHE ASPIRES TO DO HUGE THINGS AND IS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT MAKING THE MOST OF HER EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE.

WHILE HERE AT STRIKE, SHE'S EAGER TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND WITH EVERYTHING SHE DOES AND IS ALREADY A FANTASTIC COMMUNICATOR.

HER MEMORY COMPILATION DRAWING IS A SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF HER EXEMPLARY WORK ETHIC AND EVIDENCE TO EVERYONE OF WHAT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED. WHEN ONE DREAMS BIG AND CONSISTENTLY WORKS HARD TOWARDS ACCOMPLISHING THEIR GOALS.

I'M SO PROUD TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP GROW HER TALENT AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING OR HEARING HOW SHE HELPS THE WORLD, BECAUSE SHE'S DEFINITELY ON HER WAY UP.

LILY IS CURRENTLY IN BEL CANTO CHOIR.

SHE IS AN HONORS ENGLISH, INTERMEDIATE ART, AND ACCELERATED MATH.

LILY IS ON OUR A HONOR ROLL FOR QUARTER ONE, AND AS A SIXTH GRADER, SHE WAS THE ONE THAT FOUNDED OUR SPEECH AND DEBATE CLUB AT STRIKE MIDDLE SCHOOL WHEN SHE WAS IN SIXTH GRADE.

SO LILY IS A FORCE AND WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE HER AT STRIKE.

WE'RE GOING TO INVITE THE FAMILY ALSO.

THANK YOU. GOOD JOB.

MR. PORTER, YOU COME ON DOWN AND REPRESENT WALKER.

THANK YOU, SIR. GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE.

ANDERSON, COME ON DOWN.

I TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO SAY SOME GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM.

SO HE'S READY. OUT OF HENDERSON'S, HENDERSON'S, HENDERSON'S INSTRUCTORS ARE SEVEN OF THEM NOMINATED HIM, COACH JAMIESON SAID.

HENDERSON IS AN EXTREMELY HARD WORKING STUDENT WHO GIVES 100% EFFORT IN EVERY ACTIVITY.

HE IS ALWAYS DOING WHAT HE'S SUPPOSED TO DO WITHOUT BEING ASKED AND ALWAYS HAS A GOOD ATTITUDE.

COACH ENGLISH SAYS HENDERSON IS ALWAYS WELL BEHAVED IN CLASS.

HE COMPLETES ALL OF HIS WORK AND IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP HIS PEERS.

[00:30:01]

MISS JENZER SAYS HENDERSON IS ALWAYS RESPECTFUL AND DOING HIS WORK.

COACH FONDREN HENDERSON IS ALWAYS ON TOP OF HIS WORKING CLASS.

HE NOT ONLY TURNS IN QUALITY WORK ON TIME, BUT HE ALSO HELPS OTHER SPANISH SPEAKERS WITH THEIRS.

HE'S ALWAYS POLITE AND RESPECTFUL TO ME AND EVERY CLASSMATE.

EVERY MORNING WHEN HE COMES TO GET HIS CHROMEBOOK, HE SMILES AND SAYS, GOOD MORNING TO ME.

IT SEEMS LIKE A LITTLE THING, BUT IT MEANS A LOT.

I AM LUCKY TO HAVE HIM IN MY CLASS THIS SEMESTER.

MISS LAMBERT, I WANTED TO TAKE A MOMENT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE INCREDIBLE EFFORT AND DEDICATION JENISON HAS SHOWN IN CLASS.

JENISON'S PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF OUTSTANDING, AND IT'S CLEAR THAT HE PUTS A GREAT DEAL OF PASSION AND HARD WORK INTO EVERYTHING HE DOES.

JENISON'S ACHIEVEMENTS ARE A REFLECTION OF NOT ONLY HIS INTELLIGENCE, BUT ALSO HIS DETERMINATION AND RESILIENCE.

THESE QUALITIES WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE HIM WELL BOTH IN ACADEMICS AND IN LIFE.

JENISON ALSO SHOWS INCREDIBLE COMPASSION FOR OTHER STUDENTS AND IS ALWAYS THE FIRST ONE TO ASSIST OTHERS WHEN INTERPRETATION IS NEEDED IN CLASS.

THEN SHE HAS A LITTLE CHEER SHE HAS FOR YOU.

GENDERSON. KEEP CHALLENGING YOURSELF.

STAY CURIOUS AND REMEMBER THAT YOUR POTENTIAL IS LIMITLESS.

YOU HAVE AN INCREDIBLY BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD, AND I HAVE NO DOUBT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO ACCOMPLISH AMAZING THINGS.

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU.

MISS KARR, JENNISON IS ALWAYS WELL BEHAVED, SOFT SPOKEN AND RESPECTFUL.

HE COMES PREPARED TO THE SCHOOL AND FOR HIM, LEARNING COMES FIRST.

HE ALWAYS TURNS IN HIS ASSIGNMENT ON TIME.

IT IS MY PLEASURE TO HAVE HIM AS ONE OF MY STUDENTS.

I HOPE HE CONTINUES AND SHINES THROUGHOUT HIS ACADEMICS.

AND LASTLY, COACH SUMMERS, IF YOU SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN A LANGUAGE THEY UNDERSTAND, YOU SPEAK TO THEIR HEAD.

BUT IF YOU SPEAK TO THEM IN THEIR MOTHER TONGUE, YOU SPEAK TO THEIR HEART.

JENNISON HAS GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, BRIDGING THE GAP TO ENSURE HIS FELLOW EB STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE DAILY LESSONS IN HISTORY.

THE PICTURE OF A PERFECT CITIZEN, COLLABORATIVE AND TEAM CENTRIC.

HE IS A GREAT FRIEND WHO HELPS THOSE AROUND HIM LEARN.

HE'S QUIET AND THOUGHTFUL AND IS A PLEASURE TO TEACH AND HAVE IN CLASS.

HE'S A GOOD HUMAN.

I JUST WANTED TO PRESENT TO YOU WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER.

[INAUDIBLE].

SO BEFORE OUR LAST PRESENTER, JUST MISS GENTRY FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL.

PARENTS, WE WILL GET A GROUP PICTURE ALL TOGETHER AT THE VERY END.

SO IF YOU DON'T MIND, THAT'D BE GREAT.

SO YOU CAN JUST COME ON UP AFTER THAT.

MISS GENTRY HAS TWO THAT SHE'S GOING TO RECOGNIZE.

FIRST OF ALL, I DON'T THINK IT'S VERY FAIR THAT I HAVE TO FOLLOW MR. PORTER ON THE MICROPHONE, BUT WE'LL GO WITH IT.

I'D LIKE TO INVITE COACH DALY UP HERE TO JOIN ME THIS EVENING TO RECOGNIZE OUR FIRST STUDENT OF THE MONTH.

ALL RIGHT. OUR FIRST LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT OF THE MONTH IS MELANIE ALVAREZ.

THANK YOU.

COACH DALY IS HERE TONIGHT TO HELP CELEBRATE HER.

AND HE SAYS OF MELANIE, SHE HAS WORKED VERY HARD THIS YEAR IN OUR DAY ACADEMY PROGRAM.

SHE'S COMPLETED 23 COURSES.

23 COURSES, Y'ALL, AND IS ON TRACK TO GRADUATE IN MAY.

MELANIE HAS TAKEN OWNERSHIP IN HER CLASS, WORK AND DECISION MAKING.

SHE COMES TO DAY ACADEMY EVERY DAY READY TO WORK, AND SHE HAS WORKED HARD TO GET TO THIS POINT WHERE SHE CAN SEE THE END OF THE TUNNEL.

SHE'S ALSO BECOME A LEADER IN OUR DAY ACADEMY BECAUSE OF HER SUCCESS.

MELANIE ALSO EXHIBITS CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR PORTRAIT OF A LOBO, INCLUDING BEING RESPONSIBLE, CONFIDENT, AND ADAPTABLE.

WE ARE VERY PROUD OF HER GRIT AND DETERMINATION AND CAN'T WAIT TO CHEER HER ON WHEN SHE WALKS ACROSS THAT STAGE IN MAY.

[00:35:01]

CONGRATULATIONS, MELANIE.

THANK YOU.

MOM. THANK YOU.

AND OUR LAST STUDENT OF THE MONTH THIS MONTH IS LUKE MATEER.

LUKE, COME ON DOWN.

ARE YOU HERE? THERE HE IS.

COME ON DOWN.

LET ME GIVE YOU THAT SO I DON'T HAVE TO DROP ALL MY STUFF.

ALL RIGHT. SO MISS PHILLIPS SAYS OF LUKE THAT HE IS OUR STUDENT AIDE FOR THE FRONT OFFICE AREA, AND SOME DAYS THAT'S A PRETTY BIG TASK TO TAKE CARE OF ALL WE NEED.

HE HAS A CAN DO ATTITUDE AND IS ALWAYS SO WILLING TO HELP, EVEN WHEN HE ISN'T ASKED.

SOMETIMES WE LOOK UP AND WHAT WE NEED TO HAVE DONE IS ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF.

LUKE IS ALWAYS SO POLITE AND REALLY LOOKS OUT FOR US.

LUKE DEMONSTRATES CHARACTERISTICS FROM THE PORTRAIT OF A LOBO AS A COLLABORATOR, A COMMUNICATOR, AND HE IS EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT.

HIS POST-SECONDARY GOAL IS TO ATTEND A UNITED STATES SERVICE ACADEMY, AND WE KNOW HE'D BE AN INCREDIBLE ASSET TO ANY BRANCH OF THE MILITARY.

THANK YOU, LUKE, FOR ALL YOU DO.

LUKE'S FAMILY.

YEAH. COME ON DOWN.

WELL, ALL THE AWARD WINNERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

COULD Y'ALL COME DOWN REAL QUICK AND WE'RE GOING TO GET ONE BIG GROUP PHOTO WITH ALL THE LOBOS TOGETHER, PLEASE.

LUKE, COME ON BACK.

CONGRATULATIONS.

OH. YEAH.

OH, [INAUDIBLE].

THAT'S A BIG PICTURE.

BACK IT UP JUST A LITTLE BIT.

SHOULDER TO SHOULDER.

THREE. TWO.

ONE. SAY CHEESE.

YES. THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING THIS QUESTION.

WOULD YOU MIND? YEAH.

OH, YEAH.

SHOULD WE JUMP IN HERE FOR A SECOND? YEAH. MR. LAMB. ONE MORE.

MR. LAMB. I'M SORRY.

ONE MORE TIME. THANK YOU.

SORRY. YEAH.

THANK YOU.

WELL,

[00:40:17]

OUR NEXT ITEM IN THE ORDER IS REPORTS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.

[7. Reports of the Superintendent ]

MR. BARNETT, YOU ARE UP.

MISS WATKINS BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

MR. LAMB WE JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE ON SAFETY ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

WE KNOW WE'VE PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT AND MONEY INTO SAFETY, AND SO WE JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE THIS EVENING.

OKAY. SO AGAIN, WE KNOW WE DO SAFETY FOR THIS REASON.

AND THE SAFETY OF THIS REASON JUST WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM.

IT'S THE KIDS IN THIS BUILDING.

IT'S THE KIDS IN THIS DISTRICT.

IT'S OUR STAFF MEMBERS.

BUT IT'S ALL THE LOBOS THAT WE THAT ATTEND OUR SCHOOLS, THAT GO TO OUR SCHOOLS.

AND THAT'S WHY WE DO THIS JOB.

SO, ANYWAY, I JUST WANT TO KEEP THAT IN MIND.

I JUST WANTED TO PUT THIS SLIDE UP HERE SO YOU GUYS COULD KIND OF SEE THE THINGS THAT WE GO THROUGH TO KIND OF MEET THE REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE PASSED DOWN TO US, THAT ARE GIVEN TO US, AND THEN SOME OF THE PROGRAMS THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY USING AS WELL TO PROTECT OUR PROTECT OUR BUILDINGS, TO PROTECT OUR, OUR RESOURCES AND OUR BUILDING.

COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY AND SECURITY PLAN.

SO I JUST KIND OF WANTED TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON THE PHYSICAL SECURITY OF THE CAMPUSES.

SO THE SECURITY CAMERAS ARE AT ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS, AND THEY PROVIDE A LOT OF ACCESS.

SO, AGAIN, THERE'S PEOPLE IN THIS DISTRICT THAT HAVE THOSE ABILITIES.

OUR SROS HAVE THEM UP IN THEIR OFFICE ALL DAY LONG.

I CAN PULL THEM UP ANYTIME I NEED THEM.

AND THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE SCHOOL CAMPUS PRINCIPALS, CAMPUS APS.

THEY HAVE THAT ACCESS AS WELL.

WE HAVE A PLETHORA OF CAMERAS IN OUR BUILDING.

WE ASK THAT THEY PUT IN WORK ORDERS WHEN THEY GO OUT, OF COURSE, SO WE CAN GET THOSE LIVE AGAIN.

BUT JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT THEY'RE UP IN ALL BUILDINGS AND THEY ALWAYS ARE LIVE ACCESS.

IT JUST TAKES SOMEONE WALKING IN FRONT OF THE AREA WHERE THE CAMERA IS SHOWING OR DISPLAYED AT, AND IT COMES ON.

ZERO AS WE JUST WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU REAL QUICK, WE HAVE 750 CAMERAS WITH THAT TECHNOLOGY.

THAT TECHNOLOGY IS A WEAPONS DETECTION TECHNOLOGY.

OUR GOAL FOR THAT WAS TO HAVE THOSE ON THE EXTERIOR DOORS OF OUR BUILDINGS, BECAUSE WE WANT TO KEEP THE THREAT OUTSIDE IF WE CAN, AND THIS PRODUCT ALLOWS US TO DO SO.

SO WE'RE VERY HAPPY.

AND IT DOES A WONDERFUL JOB ON THE WEEKENDS, I USUALLY GET A CALL FROM THEM AND A AND A REMINDER THROUGH EMAIL, AND THEY SEND ME THE PICTURE BECAUSE WE HAVE HITS ALL THE TIME, BUT THEY'RE NERF GUNS ON A CAMPUS WITH KIDS PLAYING IN OUR SCHOOL GROUNDS.

BUT THEY ARE GOOD AND THEY SEND THEM TO ME.

THEY'RE VERY CLEAR.

THEY ALWAYS ZERO OUT OR ZERO IN ON THE WEAPONS SO THAT WE CAN SEE WHAT IT IS.

AND THEY ALWAYS CALL.

IF THEY DON'T GET AHOLD OF ME, THEY LEAVE A MESSAGE.

BUT THEY'RE VERY GOOD AT FOLLOWING UP WITH THAT.

I HAVEN'T HAD ANY KIND OF LIVE STUFF YET, SO WE'RE GOOD.

THEY EVEN DO CATCH OUR SROS WHEN THEY'RE ON CAMPUS, SOMETIMES AT WEIRD HOURS.

THEY WILL ALSO CALL AND LET US KNOW IF THEY DON'T EXPECT THEM OR THEY DIDN'T EXPECT THEM THERE.

SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS THERE ON ALL CAMPUSES.

WE HAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE'RE REQUIRED TO DO.

SO WE'RE LUCKY TO HAVE THAT ACCESS CONTROL.

JUST SO YOU GUYS KNOW, THAT'S THE FOBBING SYSTEM THAT WE HAVE, AND WE'VE HAD IT.

I MEAN, I THINK LITTLE ELM HAS HAD IT FOR QUITE A WHILE AT THE VESTIBULES AT THE FRONT OF THE OFFICE.

BUT THEY'RE NOW AT ALL CAMPUSES.

THEY'RE AT THE DOORS IN THE CLASSROOMS AS WELL.

SO ANY DOOR SHOULD HAVE A ACCESS CONTROL PANEL ON IT.

WE ARE STILL WAITING ON SOME HARDWARE AT PRESTWICK, BUT I GOT AN UPDATE TODAY FROM MIKE AND HIS GROUP AND IT'S HERE NOW, SO THEY WILL INSTALL THAT HOPEFULLY BEFORE THE END OF THE WEEK. BUT IT'S GOING TO BE UP AND RUNNING AT PRESTWICK AS WELL.

SO THEY JUST RAN OUT OF THE HARDWARE.

SO WE APOLOGIZE FOR THAT.

VISITOR AWARE SYSTEM.

IT'S AT ALL THE CAMPUSES, TOO.

IF YOU WALK IN THE VESTIBULE, YOU SHOULD SEE A SIGN IN SYSTEM THAT SETS UP.

AND I'LL SHOW YOU A PICTURE OF THAT IN A LITTLE BIT.

BUT AGAIN, IT'S TO CHECK IN AND YOU HAVE TO GET A BADGE PRINTED.

IT HELPS US WITH ONCE YOU'VE BEEN IDENTIFIED, THOUGH.

AND IF YOU, IF YOU COME INTO THE BUILDING AS WELL, AND YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT THAT CAUSES YOU NOT TO BE IN THE BUILDING, IT NOTIFIES THE PROPER PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN COME TO THE FRONT, AND THEN THEY CAN HAVE THAT CONVERSATION THAT'S NEEDED, WHETHER WHATEVER THAT SITUATION MAY BE.

BUT IT ALSO FLAGS THAT PERSON THROUGH FOCUS AND LETS US KNOW AND LETS THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED KNOW IMPACT FILM.

THAT'S ANOTHER REQUIREMENT.

AND THAT'S AGAIN SOMETHING THAT LITTLE ELM WAS ABOVE AND FAR BEYOND.

TIME AND REQUIREMENT, BUT THAT'S BEEN INSTALLED.

IT'S BEEN INSTALLED ALMOST THIS ENTIRE YEAR.

THERE WERE SOME AREAS THAT WE HAD SOME PILLING.

AND SO CARLA HAS WORKED WITH THAT COMPANY AND THEY'VE COME BACK OUT AND MIKE AND HIS GROUP AS WELL.

AND THEY HAVE FIXED THOSE AREAS THAT, THAT WERE YOU KNOW, NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED.

[00:45:04]

AND AGAIN, IT'S SHATTERPROOF.

IT'S NOT BULLETPROOF.

I JUST WANT TO BE CLEAR ON THAT.

SO IT STOPS IT FROM THE GLASS GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND.

BUT ANYWAY, IT'S A IT'S A GOOD LINE OF DEFENSE.

SO JUST EVERYBODY KNOWS EXTERIOR DOOR CHECKS.

WE DO THOSE DAILY, JUST SO YOU KNOW.

AND THE IDEA IS THAT IN PARENTHESES INTRUDER DOOR AUDIT.

SO TO REQUIRES US TO DO THOSE DAILY OUR CAMPUS PRINCIPALS OR SROS ON THE CAMPUS DO THOSE.

SO AS SOON AS KIDS ARE IN THE BUILDING THEY GO AROUND AND CHECK ALL THE EXTERIOR DOORS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE LOCKED.

IF THEY'RE NOT LOCKED, THEN THEY TURN THAT IN AND WE PUT A WORK ORDER IN IMMEDIATELY AND WE GET THOSE FIXED.

AND MIKE'S GROUP DOES A GOOD JOB OF THOSE ARE KIND OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS THERE.

WE DON'T LEAVE THOSE UNATTENDED.

WEAPONS DETECTION TOWERS.

THE HOSPITALS USE THEM EVERY DAY.

IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL IN THE MORNING, YOU'LL SEE THEM.

THE KIDS HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THEM, AND THEY'RE JUST LIKE THE AIRPORT.

I MEAN, THERE'S GOOD AS YOU CAN GET WITH WEAPONS DETECTION.

THEY'RE BETTER THAN REALLY A WHAT AM I TRYING TO SAY? THE WHAT? WELL, THE. YEAH, THE METAL DETECTORS AND THE WANDS, BUT THEY'RE BETTER THAN JUST THOSE STANDARDS.

WALK THROUGH THE SYSTEM. THESE ARE THEY'RE DETECTING AND THEY'RE LOOKING FOR CERTAIN WEIGHTS OF A PRODUCT OR SOMETHING THAT YOU COULD BE CARRYING.

SO AGAIN THAT'S AT ALL CAMPUSES AS WELL.

ALSO ON THE PHYSICAL SECURITY, OUR EXTERIOR DOORS ARE NUMBERED.

RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE NOT NUMBERED.

EXACTLY. THERE ARE SOME THAT THAT WE ARE MISSING THAT WE'VE GOT TO GET FIXED.

MIKE AND I HAVE LOOKED AT THAT AND I SAY, MIKE, I KEEP TALKING ABOUT [INAUDIBLE].

SO NOT MR. LAMB. BUT HE KNOWS ABOUT IT, TOO.

BUT ALL THE EXTERIOR DOORS NEED TO BE NUMBERED.

THERE'S A CERTAIN CRITERIA IN THERE.

FOUR-INCH LETTERS. THEY HAVE TO BE ON THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR? AGAIN, JUST IF WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY ON THE CAMPUS, WE CAN COMMUNICATE FAST AND QUICK TO OUR WHOEVER WE NEED TO TALK TO ON THE OTHER END ABOUT WHERE, YOU KNOW, THE EMERGENCY IS PANIC BUTTONS.

I FOUND THIS OUT TODAY AS WELL.

ALL CAMPUSES HAVE OUR PANIC BUTTONS, SO IT'S AS COOL AS IT GETS.

SO ON ON THE PHONES IN THE CLASSROOM, THE TEACHERS HAVE A BUTTON THAT SAYS EMERGENCY ON IT.

THEY PUSH THE BUTTON AND THEN IT GIVES AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM.

THEY HIT ZERO, AND THEN IT AGAIN ALERTS THE PEOPLE IN THAT BUILDING THAT NEED TO KNOW TO COME DOWN TO THE CLASSROOM, BECAUSE THERE'S A SITUATION IN THE CLASSROOM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, AND IT TRULY IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

IT COULD BE HEALTH RELATED YOU KNOW, IT COULD BE SAFETY RELATED, SO FORTH AND SO ON.

BUT THOSE ARE INSTALLED AND THEY ARE WORKING AND THEY'RE AMAZING.

WE TRIED THEM OUT HERE TODAY IN THE, IN THIS BUILDING.

SO ANYWAY, I WAS THE INTRUDER ON THAT AN EXTERIOR DOOR CHECKS.

SO AGAIN, I JUST TALKED TO YOU ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT BECAUSE THE INTERIOR INTRUDER DOOR TO DO THAT, WE'VE HAD ONE.

AND I WANT TO SHARE THAT WITH YOU, BUT I DON'T THINK I'M GOING TO GET THAT OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE THE CORD.

BUT ANYWAY, WE'LL LOOK AT IT IN A SECOND.

I DON'T THINK I CAN PULL UP. I WAS GOING TO SHOW YOU THE WEBSITE AND KIND OF.

WE'VE HAD ONE CAMPUS CHAVEZ WAS [INAUDIBLE].

THEY PASSED ALL OUR PROTOCOL.

THERE'RE 11 THINGS THEY LOOK FOR.

AND THEY NO PROBLEMS. SO NOTHING THERE.

AND LAST YEAR WE DID ALL CAMPUSES AND ALL CAMPUSES PASSED LAST YEAR WITH NO PROBLEMS, NO INFRACTIONS.

THE DETECTION CANINES WERE HERE TODAY ON CAMPUS.

THEY DO THEY DO HAVE A MULTI-PURPOSE.

AND YOU PROBABLY KNOW WHAT THOSE PURPOSES ARE, BUT THEY WERE ON CAMPUS TODAY, AND THEY ALWAYS TRAVEL TO ALL OF OUR SECONDARY CAMPUSES.

A COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY AND SECURITY PLAN.

SO JUST SO YOU GUYS KNOW, THE DISTRICT WIDE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN.

SO IT'S CALLED AN EOP.

THE TEXAS STATE SCHOOL SAFETY CENTER.

ASK US TO TURN THAT IN.

AND BASICALLY, THAT'S A DISTRICT WIDE OPERATIONS PLAN, WHICH IS MODELED FOR THE CAMPUSES TO USE AS WELL.

SO EACH CAMPUS HAS AN OPERATIONS PLAN.

AND AGAIN, IT'S IF WE'RE IN A SITUATION OF A LOCKDOWN OR A HOLD OR SECURE ONE OF OUR STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL, THEN THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO.

AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT THEY SHARE WITH THEIR PEOPLE ON THEIR CAMPUS.

AND IT'S ALSO STORED.

AND SO THAT'S PART OF WHAT TO WANTS US TO HAVE AS WELL.

SO OURS WAS OURS WAS TO BE SUBMITTED TODAY.

SO IT WAS SUBMITTED.

IT'S EARLY. BUT IT WAS SUBMITTED TODAY ALONG WITH OUR CYBER SECURITY PLAN.

ANYWAY. LINE WYSE AND SOCIAL MEDIA CRAWLER.

THAT'S THAT TOP WHATEVER.

MY TOP RIGHT. IT SAYS LINE WISE UP THERE.

WHAT THAT THING DOES, IT TRULY IS.

IT REMINDS ME OF A WORM SAYING CRAWLER.

BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT DOES.

IF ANYBODY GETS IN OUR SYSTEM AND THEY'RE LOGGED INTO OUR NETWORK IN ANY WAY IF THEY SAY ANYTHING THAT'S OF CONCERN, THE CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION AND WHOEVER CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION IS DEEMED NECESSARY, USUALLY IT'S THE COUNSELORS AND THE ADMINISTRATORS.

THEY GET NOTIFICATION OF IT AND THEY CAN LOOK INTO IT AND PROBABLY OUR SROS AS WELL.

AND THEN THEY GET NOTIFICATION AND THEY LOOK INTO THAT MATTER IMMEDIATELY.

[INAUDIBLE] FIRST RESPONDER SYSTEM AGAIN.

THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IS TWO CS TOGETHER.

THAT IS WHERE OUR SRP LIES.

SO IF WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, WE HAVE TO GO INTO A LOCKDOWN THAT IS SENTINEL, WHICH IS THE BIG COMPANY.

INFORMACAST IS THE PRODUCT INSIDE SENTINEL THAT WE USE FOR THAT.

[00:50:03]

AND IT IS OUR FIRST RESPONDER SYSTEM.

SO IF WE HAVE THAT SITUATION THAT COMES UP AND IT TELLS OUR PEOPLE WHAT IT IS, AND AGAIN, THEY GET THAT ALERT THROUGH THEIR CELL PHONE, THEY CAN GET IT THROUGH AN IPAD AND THEY CAN ALSO GET IT THROUGH THEIR DESKTOP.

AND IT'S AS GOOD AS IT COMES.

I'VE NOT SEEN A PRODUCT LIKE THAT BEFORE, SO I FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT THAT.

SO THE COMMUNICATION IT COMES INTO AS A LINK TO THEM, THEY FIRST GET THE NOTIFICATION, WHATEVER THE EMERGENCY IS, THEN THEY GET A LINK TO DO ROLL CALL ON THEIR CHILDREN TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE ALL ACCOUNTED FOR.

AND VISITOR AWARE. WE TALKED ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT.

YOU SHOULD SEE THOSE LITTLE VEST IN THE VESTIBULES.

YOU SHOULD SEE THOSE KIOSK MACHINES THERE FOR YOU TO SIGN IN, AND EVERYBODY HAS TO USE THAT PRODUCT TO SIGN IN.

THIS IS JUST SENTINEL IS THE NEW.

I'M NOT GOING TO GO INTO THIS, BUT I'M ALWAYS HAPPY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT IT.

BUT SENTINEL IS THE PLATFORM IN WHICH WE KEEP ALL OF OUR DOCUMENTS.

SO BASICALLY IT'S A SCHOOL SAFETY REPOSITORY.

AND EVERYTHING THAT I JUST TALKED ABOUT, THERE'S FOLDERS WITHIN SENTINEL THAT BASICALLY WE HAVE TO SHOW AND GIVE THOSE DOCUMENTS OR PROVIDE THOSE DOCUMENTS TO THEM.

SO WHAT TO WANTS FROM THAT IS THAT IF THEY WANT TO COME DO AUDITS ON US AND THEY WILL.

AND I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT IN JUST THE THIRD BULLET.

BUT EVERY FOUR YEARS THE DISTRICT VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT WILL BE DONE AND YOU'LL BE CHOSEN RANDOMLY.

YOU DON'T KNOW, THEY'LL JUST LET YOU KNOW.

BUT THEY'VE GIVEN A RUBRIC.

SO WE'VE GOT TO MEET THAT CRITERIA.

AND I WILL JUST LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT, AGAIN, THE THINGS THAT WE'VE PUT IN PLACE, WE ALREADY WELL ON OUR WAY TO MEETING THOSE RUBRICS.

THERE'S A BUNCH OF TABS ACROSS THE TOP THAT THE DISTRICT HAS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE FOLLOWING FOR EACH CAMPUS.

THEN THE CAMPUS ALSO HAS A RUBRIC AS WELL THAT THEY FOLLOW.

BUT AGAIN, AS YOU LOOK THROUGH THAT DOCUMENT AND IT'S OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, IT'S ON PTA'S WEBSITE.

BUT SENTINEL IS THAT THAT HOUSING PIECE.

AND THE PURPOSE AGAIN IS FOR US TO STORE EVERYTHING THERE.

SO IF THEY DO AUDITS OR THEY DO ANY DOOR CHECKS ON US OR DO ANY SECURITY ISSUES WHATSOEVER, THEY JUST GO THERE AND GET THE INFORMATION THEY NEED WITHOUT BOTHERING THE CAMPUSES. THEY FELT THAT WAS GOOD AND I THINK THAT IS A GOOD THING.

AND THE OTHER PIECE I WAS JUST GOING TO SHOW Y'ALL, CAN YOU CLICK ON THE INTRUDER DOOR? OKAY, GREAT. OH, WELL, IT DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO LOG IN, DOES IT? DEE BARTLETT [INAUDIBLE] WHAT IT DOES.

NOPE. OKAY. VERY GOOD.

WELL, IF I WAS TO PULL THAT UP RIGHT THERE AND I'LL SHOW YOU THAT.

YEAH. YOU'RE GOOD.

NO, I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE THE PASSWORD.

JUST THE EMAIL. SEE IF IT PULLED UP.

OKAY. WELL, ANYWAY, THOSE ARE THE THREE THINGS THAT REALLY ARE EMBEDDED IN SENTINEL.

AND SENTINEL, LIKE I SAID, IS A GREAT PRODUCT TO PUT IT OUT.

AND SO IT'S A GOOD THING FOR US TO BE ABLE TO USE.

JUST SUPPORTING US WITH SAFETY.

AGAIN, THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT WE TALKED ABOUT WITH OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF LITTLE ELM.

WE HAD OUR MEETING NOT SO LONG AGO.

THESE ARE JUST ALL THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE, AND A LOT OF IT COMES THROUGH COMMUNICATIONS.

CECILIA'S GROUP HAS PUT OUT A LOT OF THESE THINGS THAT PEOPLE CAN HAVE EASY ACCESS TO, TO REPORT THINGS THAT ARE UNSAFE.

AND HER GROUP HAS ALSO PUT OUT SOME THINGS TO VIDEO VIDEOS FOR US.

AND AGAIN, THAT'S THE ONE. I HEAR SOMETHING.

SAY SOMETHING. AGAIN, SO WE TRY TO PUSH THOSE THINGS OUT AS WELL.

BUT AGAIN, ALL THESE FACTORS HERE ARE PARENT AND AGAIN, OUR PARENT LIAISONS, OUR SOCIAL WORKERS, OUR HEALTH SERVICES.

BUT ALL THOSE DIFFERENT BULLETS, THEY'RE JUST THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING TO KEEP OUR PEOPLE SAFE.

WAYS THAT YOU CAN GO ABOUT HELPING US STAY SAFE OR PEOPLE THAT ARE ACTUALLY DOING THE JOB TO KEEP US SAFE.

QUESTIONS? THANK YOU, MR. BARTLETT. YOU'RE WELCOME, MISS WATKINS.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MISS AMANDA BALL, YOU ARE UP NEXT WITH OUR CURRICULUM AND LEARNING UPDATE.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES MR. LAMB I APPRECIATE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

ON THE FLY.

OH, HERE WE GO. OKAY, SO HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT BRIEFLY.

WE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING IN JULY AND WE'VE MADE A LOT OF PROGRESS.

AND SO I'M EXCITED TO SHARE SOME OF THAT WITH YOU.

I DON'T THINK I'M ACTUALLY FORWARDING THAT.

I THINK IT'S HIM. SO TO DESIGN ADULT LEARNING, THE OVERARCHING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PLAN, WE START WITH THE END IN MIND, AND WE REALLY ASK THREE QUESTIONS THAT SEEM KIND OF SIMPLE, BUT IT KIND OF ENCAPSULATES AND GETS TO THE HEART OF ADULT LEARNING.

WE ASK, WHAT DO STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO TO BE SUCCESSFUL? WHAT DO TEACHERS NEED TO KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO TO GET STUDENTS TO THAT SUCCESS? AND WHAT DO ADMINISTRATORS NEED TO KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO TO SUPPORT TEACHERS THROUGH THAT JOURNEY? SO WE WE ASK THOSE QUESTIONS, AND THE ANSWERS HELP US CREATE LEARNING AROUND THAT.

[00:55:04]

WE ALSO USE THE STRATEGIC GOALS AS GUIDEPOSTS AND KEEPING CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN OUR LENS.

WE ARE FORTUNATE TO RECEIVE FEDERAL FUNDING IN THE FORM OF TITLE TWO A WE DON'T GET A LOT OF MONEY, BUT WE USE EVERY PENNY OF IT TO REALLY SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS AND OUR PRINCIPALS.

SO ULTIMATELY, TEACHERS WHO FEEL CONFIDENT IN THEIR ABILITIES WILL STAY IN THE PROFESSION LONGER.

SO THAT'S THE GOAL IS TO KEEP THEM TEACHING AND KEEP THEM HERE.

SO REALLY WHEN WE TALK ABOUT OUR PROGRAM GOALS, THAT IS THE OVERARCHING GOAL IS TO HELP TEACHERS FEEL CONFIDENT IN THEIR ABILITIES.

SO LOBO WELCOME WEEK.

WE ONBOARDED ABOUT 125 NEW EDUCATORS.

IT WAS A MIXTURE OF EXPERIENCED TEACHERS, MID-CAREER TEACHERS, AND NOVICE TEACHERS.

AND THEN ON AUGUST 1ST, WE WELCOMED ALL OF OUR TEACHERS BACK FOR FALL KICKOFF AND WE WERE READY FOR STUDENTS BY AUGUST 8TH.

THIS YEAR, WE'VE DONE SOME UPDATES TO THE BEGINNING TEACHER ACADEMY, AND THEY NOW INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONAL WALKS.

SO ON THESE DAYS, FIRST AND SECOND YEAR TEACHERS GET TO GO SEE OTHER TEACHERS IN THEIR GRADE LEVEL OR THEIR CONTENT AREA.

TEACH. SOMETIMES PEOPLE WILL TEACH NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER FOR TEN YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN EACH OTHER TEACH.

AND SO TO PROVIDE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THEM, WE'RE GETTING GREAT FEEDBACK SO FAR.

THIS FIRST ROUND THAT'S WRAPPING UP HAS BEEN FOCUSED ON ROUTINES, PROCEDURES, RELATIONSHIPS, AND HOW THOSE THINGS IMPACT INSTRUCTION.

OUR MENTOR TEACHER ACADEMY HAS ALSO BEEN UPDATED.

IT INCLUDES SOME SELF-PACED LEARNING MODULES SO MENTORS CAN, YOU KNOW, REALLY DIVE INTO THE THINGS THAT THEY KNOW THAT THEY NEED.

IT'S KIND OF LIKE A TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, LEAVE WHAT YOU DON'T, YOU KNOW.

AND SO THEY CAN FOCUS ON THEIR OWN GROWTH WHILE THEY'RE MENTORING NOVICE TEACHERS.

AND LIKE I SAID, WE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING.

SO USING THE DATA, RESPONDING TO REQUESTS AND FEEDBACK, AND SUPPORTING OUR IMPLEMENTATIONS, OUR EDUCATORS HAVE EARNED ON AVERAGE, 20 HOURS OF CPE SINCE JULY 29TH.

WHEN YOU ADD ALL OF THAT UP, IT'S A LOT OF HOURS OF LEARNING, AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE CAMPUS BASED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

SO THOSE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS.

WHAT QUESTIONS CAN I ANSWER FOR YOU? I DON'T THINK WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

THANK YOU. WE DO HAVE ONE. WE DO HAVE ONE QUESTION.

DOES THE. DOES THE MENTOR LADY WHO WORE THE T SHIRT, DID SHE DO MATH? I DESIGNED THAT T SHIRT.

AND I HAVE A COUPLE OF MATH TEACHERS THAT ARE LIKE, I CANNOT WEAR THIS.

I'M LIKE, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY.

IT'S MORE IT'S MORE THAN 100%, BUT.

YEAH. ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU. OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS CITIZEN INPUT.

[8. Citizen Input ]

MISS FLORES, DO WE HAVE ANY CITIZEN INPUT? YES. ALL RIGHT, MISS WATKINS.

GOOD EVENING. GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT WATKINS, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, SUPERINTENDENT LAMB AND THE CABINET MEMBERS.

MY NAME IS MADELINE WATKINS.

I'M A SOPHOMORE AT LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL, AND I AM A MEMBER OF THE LHS CHOIR PROGRAM.

I'M HERE TONIGHT TO INVITE YOU TO COME AND FLIP PANCAKES.

I'M HERE. I'M HERE TO INVITE YOU TO COME HELP FLIP PANCAKES AT OUR SECOND ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND WINTER WONDERLAND MARKETPLACE.

THANK YOU. I DON'T KNOW THE DATE.

DECEMBER 7TH AT LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL AT 9 A.M.

THANK YOU.

YOU'RE WELCOME. OUR

[9. Approval of Minutes ]

NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS THE APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES.

AND WE WILL BE APPROVING THE MINUTES FROM OUR MEETING.

OUR REGULAR MEETING MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2024.

IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. MR. OLSON MADE THE MOTION.

[01:00:01]

IS THERE A SECOND? I'LL SECOND THAT. MR. BURTON MADE THE SECOND.

IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION OR QUESTIONS? ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

THE MEETING MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER ARE ACTION ITEMS.

[10. Action Items ]

AND MISS ADAMS, YOU ARE UP FIRST.

ALL RIGHT. GOOD EVENING. BOARD.

OUR FIRST ITEM TONIGHT IS THE APPROVAL FOR YOU TO CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30TH OF 2024.

WE CALL IT THE AUDIT.

BUT I WANTED TO SAY A COUPLE OF THINGS BEFORE I TURN IT OVER TO OUR AUDITOR.

MOSTLY FOR THE PUBLIC, BECAUSE MANY OF THEM DON'T REALIZE THAT THE BOARD ACTUALLY EMPLOYS AN INDEPENDENT AUDITOR TO COME IN AND AUDIT THE WORK OF THE BUSINESS OFFICE.

AND I AM AN ACCOUNTING NERD, SO I LOVE IT WHENEVER WE HAVE OUR AUDIT, BECAUSE IT'S A CHANCE FOR SOMEONE TO COME IN THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT WE DO.

AND AND THERE'S SO MUCH OF WHAT WE DO THAT IS INVISIBLE TO EVERYONE.

AND WE ARE WE TAKE PRIDE IN OUR WORK.

I WANT TO TAKE A MINUTE TO REALLY SHARE HOW INCREDIBLY PROUD I AM OF OUR BUSINESS STAFF, THEIR WORK, THEIR INTEGRITY, AND HOW THEY PERFORM THEIR WORK EACH DAY IS IS REALLY TOP NOTCH.

AND THEY ARE THEY OFTEN DO THANKLESS JOBS.

AND AGAIN, MANY OF THE THINGS THAT THEY DO ARE INVISIBLE, BUT THEY WORK HARD FOR THE DISTRICT AND TO BE GOOD STEWARDS OF THE DISTRICT FUNDS.

SO OUR STAFF THAT IS LED BY JESSIE WYSE, OUR CFO.

WE ARE ALSO BLESSED BY THE SKILL AND DILIGENCE OF JENNIFER BARRYCHUCK, NANCY HICKS, CARMEN ROMERO, GABBY ARIA, WHICH I NEVER SAY RIGHT.

I'M SORRY. GABBY. BERNICE SANCHEZ GONZALEZ, LESLIE MARMOR, CHARLOTTE BIPPUS, AND JACKIE CARTER.

AND I ALSO WANT TO GIVE A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO OUR HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM, BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE ALSO DON'T REALIZE WHEN WE HAVE OUR INDEPENDENT AUDIT FOR THE BOARD THAT MOST OF OUR WORK, MUCH OF OUR WORK IS INTERTWINED WITH HUMAN RESOURCES, AND THEY ARE AUDITED AS WELL ON ALL OF OUR PERSONNEL FILES.

AND THOSE ARE THOSE ARE REALLY BIG JOBS, AND THEY DO IT VERY WELL, IN ADDITION TO ALL OF OUR BUDGET MANAGERS AND ASSISTANTS.

SO, ALL OF OUR PRINCIPALS, DIRECTORS AND THEIR BUDGET ASSISTANTS.

SO I'M GOING TO TURN THIS OVER TO DAN TAN, WHO IS GOING TO HIT THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR AUDIT, SOME OF WHICH WE'VE ALREADY GONE OVER IN A WORKSHOP.

BUT I'M GOING TO TURN THAT OVER TO DAN.

AND OF COURSE, YOU CAN ASK ANY QUESTIONS OF HIM THAT YOU LIKE BECAUSE HE IS EMPLOYED BY YOU.

I JUST GET THE HONOR OF WORKING WITH HIM.

GOOD EVENING. BOARD.

MR. LAMB. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE WITH YOU TONIGHT AND TO GO OVER THE RESULTS OF THE AUDIT.

THE DISTRICT HAD A GOOD YEAR FINANCIALLY.

AND THE AUDIT WENT VERY WELL.

WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS CONDUCTING THE AUDIT.

I WOULD AGREE WITH MISS ADAMS THAT THE STAFF IS VERY COMPETENT AND DO A GREAT JOB.

AND THEY WORK VERY HARD TO GET US ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT WE NEED.

AND SO THE AUDIT WENT REALLY WELL.

I WANT TO START ON PAGE FIVE OF THE, OF THE AFR BOOKLET.

THIS IS OUR INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT.

THIS REPORT IS WHAT'S REFERRED TO AS AN UNMODIFIED REPORT.

UNMODIFIED IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF REPORTING THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE AS A GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY.

UNMODIFIED REFERS TO THE FACT THAT THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO OUR STANDARD AUDITOR'S REPORT.

SO THERE'S NO COMPLIANCE ISSUES, THERE'S NO FINDINGS.

STATES THAT IT'S OUR OPINION THAT THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ARE FAIRLY PRESENTED.

SO JUST AN EXCELLENT REPORT.

THE NEXT SECTION OF THE REPORT IS MANAGEMENT'S DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS.

I'M NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH THIS IN DETAIL, BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO SEE A LOT OF THIS IN THE ACTUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS THAT WE LOOK AT.

THERE ARE SOME FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS ON PAGE SEVEN.

THE FIRST BULLET, I'LL JUST HIT IT FIRST.

OR THE SECOND ONE, REALLY? THE DISTRICT'S NET POSITION INCREASED BY 15 MILLION.

NET POSITION REFERS TO THE GOVERNMENT WIDE MEASURE OF ALL OF YOUR ASSETS AND LIABILITIES AND NET POSITION.

IT INCLUDES YOUR CAPITAL ASSETS AND YOUR LONG TERM DEBT, WHICH THOSE THINGS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR FUND FINANCIALS THAT WE WILL LOOK AT, LIKE THE GENERAL FUND, THE DEBT SERVICE FUND, AND THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND.

SO THERE'S A COUPLE OF COMPARATIVE STATEMENTS ON PAGES TEN AND 11.

[01:05:09]

THESE WILL SHOW YOU AND AGAIN, THESE ARE GOVERNMENT WIDE NUMBERS THAT INCLUDE ALL YOUR CAPITAL ASSETS AND LONG TERM DEBT. JUST A COUPLE OF KEY TAKEAWAYS.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE SECOND COLUMN ON PAGE 11, THAT'S YOUR REVENUES FOR THE YEAR.

YOUR REVENUES DID INCREASE FAIRLY HEALTHILY BY A HEALTHY AMOUNT.

YOU CAN SEE IT WENT FROM 138 MILLION TO ALMOST 154 MILLION.

THE THING THAT'S INTERESTING ON THIS PAGE THAT I WANT TO POINT OUT ON REVENUES, IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS TAXES, YOUR MAINTENANCE TAXES ACTUALLY WENT DOWN ABOUT $11 MILLION.

YOU'LL REMEMBER THAT THE 24 FISCAL YEAR WAS THE YEAR THAT THE LEGISLATURE CONTINUED TO COMPRESS THE TAX RATES.

AND IN 24, IN ADDITION TO THE REGULAR NORMAL COMPRESSION THAT WAS PART OF THE FUNDING FORMULA THEY PASSED AN ADDITIONAL 11 CENT COMPRESSION.

SO YOUR LOW RATE REALLY WENT DOWN QUITE A BIT.

AND THAT'S THE REASON FOR THE INCREASE IN STATE AID.

IS THE STATE FUNDED THAT 11 CENT COMPRESSION AS WELL AS THE NEW $100,000 HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION.

SO YOU SAW A FAIRLY SIGNIFICANT SHIFT BETWEEN LOCAL AND STATE FUNDING.

TO GET INTO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS THEMSELVES, I'M JUST GOING TO GO THROUGH A FEW THINGS.

ON PAGE 17, AGAIN, THESE THIS IS THE GOVERNMENT WIDE STATEMENT OF NET POSITION.

YOU CAN SEE THAT YOUR GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES, THE BOTTOM NUMBER YOU HAVE 68 MILLION IN NET POSITION.

AND ON PAGE 19, YOU CAN SEE THAT YOUR NET POSITION INCREASED BY ABOUT $15 MILLION.

AGAIN, THIS IS GOVERNMENT WIDE.

MOST OF THAT IS THE RESULT OF YOUR REPAYMENT OF YOUR DEBT.

YOU NOT ONLY PAID YOUR NORMAL PAYMENTS, BUT YOU HAD AN EARLY DEFEASANCE THAT YOU ABOUT 2.5 MILLION THAT YOU'VE DONE IN THE PAST SOME.

AND YOU DID THAT AGAIN IN FISCAL 24.

AND THAT REALLY HELPS YOUR NET POSITION AS WELL AS YOUR FUTURE BONDING CAPACITY.

THE FUND FINANCIALS ARE ON PAGES 20 AND 21.

YOU CAN SEE THAT YOUR GENERAL FUND ENDED THE YEAR WITH ABOUT 34 MILLION IN FUND BALANCE.

THE DEBT SERVICE FUND ENDED THE YEAR WITH 32 MILLION IN FUND BALANCE.

AND THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND ENDED THE YEAR WITH 191 MILLION.

THAT 191 MILLION IN CAPITAL PROJECTS IS JUST THE UNSPENT PROCEEDS FROM PRIOR BOND SALES.

THOSE ARE OBVIOUSLY BUDGETED FOR NEW CAMPUSES AND OTHER CAPITAL PROJECTS, SO THAT MONEY IS NOT JUST SITTING AROUND, IT'S BEING USED FOR THOSE APPROVED PROJECTS THAT WERE APPROVED IN THE BOND ELECTION.

PAGES 24 AND 25 SHOW YOU THE CHANGES IN FUND BALANCE.

THE GENERAL FUND HAD A HAD A A POTENTIAL INCREASE IN FUND BALANCE THAT WAS TRANSFERRED OVER TO YOUR GROWTH AND TRANSITION FUND THAT WAS ESTABLISHED TO HELP WITH FUTURE FUNDING ISSUES AND GROWTH ISSUES WITHIN THE DISTRICT.

THAT TRANSFER WAS ABOUT 2.8 8 MILLION.

SO YOUR GENERAL FUND STAYED THE SAME.

YOUR DEBT SERVICE FUND INCREASED.

AND YOUR CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND WENT DOWN 15 MILLION DUE TO THOSE PROJECTS THAT WE JUST TALKED ABOUT.

SO THE LAST FINANCIAL STATEMENT THAT I'M GOING TO LOOK AT IS ON PAGE 27.

THIS IS A BUDGETARY COMPARISON FOR THE GENERAL FUND.

YOU CAN SEE THAT ALL FUNCTIONAL EXPENSE CATEGORIES WERE WITHIN BUDGET.

SO THERE'S NO PROBLEMS WITH EXCEEDING BUDGETED AMOUNTS.

I'M NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH THE FOOTNOTES IN DETAIL.

THOSE BEGIN ON PAGE 33.

THERE'S A LOT OF INFORMATION IN THOSE THAT PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EXPLANATION FOR NUMBERS THAT ARE IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.

[01:10:07]

THERE'S INFORMATION ON YOUR CAPITAL ASSETS, YOUR LONG TERM DEBT.

EXTENSIVE DISCLOSURES ON YOUR PENSION AND OPEB LIABILITIES.

OPEB IS OTHER POST-EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS.

AND FOR TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS, THAT BENEFIT PLAN IS FOR RETIRED TEACHER HEALTH CARE.

AND THE DISTRICT CONTRIBUTES TO THAT FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES.

AND THAT FUNDS HEALTH CARE FOR TEACHERS ONCE THEY'RE RETIRED.

I'M GOING TO LOOK AT ONE MORE SCHEDULE TO KIND OF DEMONSTRATE WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT WITH THE TAX RATE ON PAGES 84 AND 85.

THIS IS YOUR DELINQUENT TAX SCHEDULE.

YOUR DELINQUENT TAXES ACTUALLY WENT DOWN.

SO YOU HAD A VERY GOOD COLLECTION HERE.

THE FIRST, THE SECOND AND THIRD COLUMNS SHOW YOU THE, THE SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS TAX RATE.

IT WENT FROM A LITTLE ABOVE $0.94, DOWN TO 0.757 $0.05 PER $100 OF VALUE.

SO THAT'S A FAIRLY SIGNIFICANT TAX DECREASE.

YOUR YOUR APPRAISED VALUE IN COLUMN THREE CONTINUES TO SHOW A HEALTHY GROWTH AMOUNT FROM 7.4 BILLION TO ABOUT 8.1 BILLION. THE LAST THING I'M GOING TO HIT ON IS A COUPLE OF ADDITIONAL AUDITORS REPORTS THAT BEGIN ON PAGE 91. THERE'S A REPORT ON YOUR GRANT FUNDS IN GENERAL, BECAUSE YOU DO RECEIVE BOTH STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS WERE REQUIRED TO DO SOME ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES UNDER WHAT ARE CALLED GOVERNMENT AUDITING STANDARDS.

AND THAT'S THE REPORT THAT BEGINS ON PAGE 91.

AND THEN THE REPORT ON PAGES 93 AND 94 IS SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO WHAT ARE CALLED MAJOR FEDERAL PROGRAMS. EACH YEAR, THE AUDITORS ARE REQUIRED TO SELECT SOME OF THE LARGER FEDERAL PROGRAMS TO AUDIT AS A MAJOR PROGRAM, AS IT'S DESCRIBED IN THE LITERATURE. THE MAJOR PROGRAMS FOR 2024 ARE SHOWN ON PAGES 95 WAS THE TITLE ONE PROGRAM, THE SPECIAL EDUCATION CLUSTER, WHICH INCLUDED FORMULA DISCRETIONARY AND PRESCHOOL, AS WELL AS SOME COVID IDB MONEY.

AND THEN THE THIRD ONE WAS THE TITLE TWO PART A PROGRAM.

BOTH OF THOSE REPORTS, AGAIN, ARE UNMODIFIED REPORTS.

THERE'S NO FINDINGS.

THERE'S NO COMPLIANCE FINDINGS.

THEY'RE EXCELLENT REPORTS.

THAT'S ALL I'M GOING TO GO OVER.

I'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? OH. HOLD ON. WE NEED A MOTION.

IS THERE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE AUDIT? SO MOVED. MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE A MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND.

MR. OLSON MADE A SECOND.

NOW, ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? YOU GOOD? NO, MA'AM. I'M FINE.

THANK YOU. WE DON'T HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

THANK YOU. SO, ALL IN FAVOR OF ACCEPTING THE AUDIT, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED.

MOTION. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

MISS ADAMS, YOU ARE BACK WITH OUR NEXT ACTION ITEM.

ON THIS ITEM, THE ADMINISTRATION COMES TO YOU SEEKING APPROVAL FOR SOMETHING THAT WE'VE DISCUSSED OVER REALLY OVER THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF TO TWO YEARS, AND THAT IS TO TO OFFICIALLY TERMINATE OUR TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT WITH THE STUDENT TRANSPORTATION OF AMERICA, WHICH DOES BUSINESS AS GOLD STAR TRANSIT.

AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO A CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM TO COMPLETE THE CONTRACT AND THEN WOULD TERMINATE THIS AT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT YEAR.

THIS IS REALLY A FINANCIAL DECISION.

AS YOU KNOW, WE ADOPTED A DEFICIT BUDGET THIS YEAR.

WE ADOPTED A DEFICIT BUDGET LAST YEAR.

WE HAD SOME EXTRAORDINARY ITEMS THAT REALLY HELPED OUR BOTTOM LINE.

BUT WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE STRUCTURAL HEALTH OF OUR DEFICIT, AND THERE ARE NOT MANY AREAS WHERE WE CAN REALLY GAIN SAVINGS IN THE.

[01:15:08]

IN THE SIX FIGURE AREA.

AND WE ARE ESTIMATING THAT WE WILL SAVE ABOUT $700,000 BY BRINGING OUR TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS IN-HOUSE.

AND SO TONIGHT, AFTER WORKSHOPPING THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND SEEKING THE ADVICE AND COUNSEL OF AN OUTSIDE CONSULTANT, THIRD PARTY EXPERT IN THIS AREA, WE BRING YOU THIS ITEM TO OFFICIALLY TERMINATE THAT CONTRACT AT THE END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

I'M HAPPY TO COVER ANY QUESTIONS CONCERNING THAT.

I JUST WANT TO STRESS HOW MUCH WE HAVE APPRECIATED THE PARTNERSHIP OF GOLD STAR THAT WE LOOK FORWARD TO.

CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOLD STAR OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS.

AND THAT THIS IS THIS IS REALLY A FINANCIAL DECISION.

IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. MR. OLSON MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE A SECOND.

IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION OR QUESTIONS FOR MISS ADAMS? I'M GOING TO ASK JUST BECAUSE I WANT IT ON RECORD.

MISS ADAMS, HOW MUCH ARE WE GOING TO SAVE BY TERMINATING OUR CONTRACT WITH GOLD STAR AND BRINGING THIS IN HOUSE? WE ESTIMATE THAT WE'LL SAVE ABOUT $700,000.

SO THAT'S SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS.

IT'S A SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS.

AND AND YOU KNOW, AND AGAIN, THAT'S NOT REALLY EVEN A CRITICISM.

YOU KNOW, BUSINESSES THAT ARE IN BUSINESS TO OPERATE ARE IN BUSINESS TO, YOU KNOW, TO GAIN A PROFIT.

AND SO WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO IS REALLY TO, TO REMOVE THAT PROFIT PIECE AND, AND BRING THAT IN HOUSE SO THAT WE CAN REDISTRIBUTE THOSE FUNDS TO OUR CLASSROOMS. ALRIGHTY. THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

MOTION CARRIES.

THANK YOU. OUR NEXT ITEM IN ORDER IS CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF A NEW FTE REQUEST.

MISS BROWN, YOU ARE UP.

GOOD EVENING AGAIN.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES. PRESIDENT WATKINS SUPERINTENDENT LAMB.

WITH THE ACTION THAT YOU ALL JUST APPROVED.

WITH MISS ADAMS WE NOW WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO YOU FOR CONSIDERATION A NEW FTE REQUEST WITH US BRINGING TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN-HOUSE.

HERE IN LITTLE ELM ISD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME.

WE NEED TO ASK FOR AN FTE FOR DIRECTOR FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.

THIS PERSON, THIS POSITION WILL MANAGE THE TRANSPORTATION NEEDS FOR THE DISTRICT AND WILL BE HOUSED OR UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF OUR OPERATIONAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.

THERE IS GOING TO BE A FINANCIAL IMPACT.

OBVIOUSLY, WHENEVER YOU HIRE OR START A NEW FTE, THERE'S THERE'S FINANCIAL IMPACT WE'RE ANTICIPATING AND APPROXIMATING.

IT'LL BE IN THE AREA OF $100,000, DOLLARS.

HOWEVER, THAT AMOUNT WILL BE MORE THAN COVERED BY THE DOLLAR SAVED WITH BRINGING THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN-HOUSE.

SO WITH THAT, THE ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF A DIRECTOR FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FTE POSITION AS SUBMITTED.

IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. MR. OLSON MADE THE MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. MR..

MONTEMAYOR. MR..

MONTEMAYOR MADE THE SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MISS BROWN? THERE BEING NONE.

ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED? NONE.

ALRIGHTY. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

AND YOU ARE NEXT WITH THE NEXT ITEM.

YES. SO THE NEXT ACTION ITEM FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS WE HAVE CONDUCTED A THOROUGH INTERVIEW AND SELECTION PROCESS TO FILL THE CURRENTLY VACANT DIRECTOR FOR NETWORK AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICES POSITION.

AND SO THE ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE HIRE OF A NEW DIRECTOR FOR NETWORK AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICES, AS WAS DISCUSSED WITH YOU IN CLOSED SESSION.

IS THERE A MOTION? SO MOVED. IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. MR. BURTON MADE THE MOTION.

MR. MONTEMAYOR SECONDED.

IS THERE. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MISS BROWN? ALL IN FAVOR? RAISE YOUR HAND.

MISS BROWN, I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR NEW DIRECTOR FOR NETWORK AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICES IS MR. JACK VESTAL.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU. THE CONSENT AGENDA IS NEXT.

[11. Consent Agenda ]

ARE THERE ANY ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE PULLED OUT? NO, MA'AM. I'LL CONSIDER A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA.

SO MOVED. MR. OLSON MADE THE MOTION.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. MR. MONTEMAYOR MADE THE SECOND.

WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

AND THAT BRINGS US TO THE END.

[01:20:01]

WE HAVE BOARD PRESIDENT COMMENTS.

AND WITH THAT, I'M GOING TO START DOWN HERE WITH MR.

[13. Board Comments ]

BURTON FOR BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS.

THE ONLY ONE THAT I HAD THOUGHT ABOUT FOR BRINGING FORTH TONIGHT IS, IS THE 633 RUN.

IT'S A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM TO HELP IN ANY WAY THAT WE CAN.

SO IF THERE'S THOSE THAT, YOU KNOW, THAT MAYBE PARTICIPATED LAST YEAR AND HAVEN'T DONE YET THIS YEAR JUST ENCOURAGE THEM TO, TO CHECK IT AND, AND COME WALK WITH US JUST TO BE THERE FOR THE CAMARADERIE AND FOR THE FOR THE GREAT RESULTS THAT COME OUT OF THAT OF THAT ENDEAVOR.

I JUST WANTED TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MARCHING BAND AND COLOR GUARD THAT PERFORMED THIS LAST WEEKEND AT REGION BAND.

THEY GOT STRAIGHT ONES WHICH IS WHICH WAS PRETTY COOL.

SO NOW IN TWO WEEKS, THEY WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE AREA COMPETITION.

WHICH, OF COURSE, IT'S A MUCH LARGER POOL.

THE KIDS ARE PRETTY EXCITED.
