. [INAUDIBLE]. YEAH. NO, I DON'T BELIEVE WE HAVE ANY INVOCATION TONIGHT.

RIGHT, MISS FLORES? SO WE'LL GO TO ROLL CALL, PLEASE.

AND INTRODUCTIONS .

[6. Superintendent Spotlight]

LAMB. AND YOU GOT FAR DOWN THERE IN A HURRY? YES. WE'RE GOING TO START OUT WITH LEADERS OF THE PACK, MISS ASHELEY BROWN.

EVERY TIME I SAY LEADERS OF THE PACK, I WANT TO GO VROOM, VROOM.

YOU PROBABLY ALSO WANT TO SING A SOLO OF SOME SORT.

I'M SURE I'M GOING TO BET YOU DON'T KNOW THAT SONG, ASHELEY.

OKAY. THANK YOU, SUPERINTENDENT LAMB, PRESIDENT OLSON, BOARD OF TRUSTEES, THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECOGNIZE THE WONDERFUL STAFF MEMBERS THAT WE HAVE HERE IN LITTLE ELM ISD. AS YOU KNOW, IT'S BECOME A MONTHLY TRADITION FOR US TO REALLY TAKE TIME TO NOTICE AND RECOGNIZE TWO STAFF MEMBERS ACROSS THE DISTRICT FOR THEIR WONDERFUL CONTRIBUTIONS AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY.

SO THE VERY FIRST LEADER OF THE PACK THAT WE'D LIKE TO RECOGNIZE IS MISS TINA FILLEBROWN FROM PRESTWICK ELEMENTARY.

SO I'D LIKE TO ASK YOU TO WATCH THE SCREEN.

I NOMINATED MISS FILLEBROWN BECAUSE SHE IS A ONE OF A KIND TEACHER.

I FIRST KNEW HER AS A MOTHER WHERE SHE IS KIND, FUN AND PATIENT WITH HER THREE AMAZING KIDS.

SHE BRINGS THAT SAME ENERGY INTO THE CLASSROOM AND SHE TREATS EACH KID LIKE THEY'RE HER VERY OWN.

SHE MEETS EACH KID WHERE THEY'RE AT AND FLEXES TO THEIR NEEDS.

SHE MAKES LEARNING FUN, AND I'VE KNOWN HER TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME, ENERGY, AND RESOURCES TO MAKE SURE HER CLASS IS A FUN PLACE TO BE.

IN ADDITION, SHE MAKES EACH CHILD FEEL SAFE, A PLACE WHERE THEY CAN BE THEIR AUTHENTIC SELF, AND SHE CELEBRATES THEIR INDIVIDUALITY.

SHE TEACHES KINDNESS AND SHE MAKES SURE EACH KID FEELS KINDNESS EACH AND EVERY DAY.

I REMEMBER ONE DAY SHE SHARED WITH ME THAT A KID HAD BROUGHT A FROG INTO THE CLASSROOM IN HIS BACKPACK, AND SHE HEARD IT AND SHE ASKED HIM WHAT IT WAS AND HE BROUGHT IT OUT.

WAS SO EXCITED TO SHOW HER AND SHE JUST LAUGHED IT OFF, HAVING TWO BOYS OF HER OWN AND SHE TOOK THE WHOLE CLASSROOM OUTSIDE AND WE SET IT FREE.

WHEN SHE HAS KIDS THAT HAVE STRUGGLED, SHE IS PATIENT AND SHE IS THEIR BIGGEST CHEERLEADER.

SHE GETS EXCITED WITH HER GROWTH AND SHE PUSHES THEM TO NEW HEIGHTS TO MEET THEIR GOALS.

SHE SINGS, SHE DANCES.

SHE'S SILLY.

SHE ALLOWS HER CLASS TO HAVE FUN WITH LEARNING AT THE CORE.

I'VE ALSO SEEN HER BE A LEADER AMONG HER COLLEAGUES.

SHE'S ALWAYS OFFERING A HELPING HAND.

SHE SHARES IDEAS AND SHE ALWAYS SETS A SHINING EXAMPLE.

I KNOW THERE'S NO ONE MORE DESERVING THAN TINA.

SHE MEETS EVERYONE WITH A SMILE.

HER ATTITUDE IS CONTAGIOUS, AND SHE IS A TRUE LEADER OF THE PACK.

WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE MRS.

[00:05:01]

TINA BROWN AS A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER AT PRESTWICK ELEMENTARY.

SHE IS A FAVORITE AMONG STAFF, STUDENTS, AND PARENTS.

EVERY PARENT WANTS THEIR CHILD TO BE IN MRS. FILLEBROWN'S CLASS, MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE LOVE AND DEVOTION THAT SHE SHOWS FOR ALL OF HER STUDENTS.

SHE ENCOURAGES THEM TO BE LIFELONG LEARNERS AND ALSO DEVELOPS RELATIONSHIPS THAT THEY REMEMBER FOR A LIFETIME.

CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. FILLEBROWN, FOR BEING AWARDED THE LEADER OF THE PACK AWARD TONIGHT.

MISS TINA FILLEBROWN. COME ON DOWN TO THE FRONT SO WE CAN RECOGNIZE YOU AS A LEADER OF THE PACK.

SUPERINTENDENT LAMB, PRESIDENT OLSON, IF YOU'LL COME.

SO WE CAN PRESENT HER WITH THIS AWARD AND GET A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY.

AND WHILE WE'RE TAKING THE PICTURE, WHICH I.

MISS. ROBERTS, ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES THIS EVENING? TINA FILLEBROWN IS IN HER THIRD YEAR HERE IN LITTLE ELM ISD.

SHE IS A TEACHER OF OUR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS AT PRESTWICK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

SHE ALWAYS GOES OUT OF HER WAY TO MAKE SURE EACH CHILD IS SEEN, HEARD, AND CELEBRATED.

SHE'S A TEACHER WHO SUPPORTS HER COLLEAGUES ACROSS HER TEAM AND IN OTHER GRADES AS WELL.

MISS FILLEBROWN IS INCLUSIVE, POSITIVE AND SELFLESS AND SHE IS OUR LEADER OF THE PACK.

CONGRATULATIONS. AND OUR SECOND LEADER OF THE PACK IS MISS DAWN NOTO FROM BRENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE VIDEO.

CONGRATULATIONS, MS. NOTO. I NOMINATED YOU FOR LEADER OF THE PACK BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN AN INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER FOR KNOX THIS YEAR.

YOU HAVE HELPED HIM GROW AND LEARN IN A WAY THAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SEE FOR HIM IN SUCH A LONG TIME.

HE COMES HOME EVERY DAY HAPPIER.

HE WANTS TO COME TO SCHOOL NOW.

HE WANTS TO LEARN, HE WANTS TO READ.

AND IN PART THAT IS 100% THANKS TO YOU.

HE IS HAPPIER.

HE TELLS ME EVERY DAY THAT YOU TELL HIM TO DREAM BIG AND REACH FOR THE STARS.

AND HE IS EXCITED ABOUT LEARNING TO READ AND LEARNING MATH AND ALL THE THINGS IN YOUR CLASSROOM THAT YOU DO.

YOU HAVE SUCH PATIENCE AND SUPPORT, AND I'M VERY GRATEFUL THAT YOU ARE A PART OF HIS LIFE AND YOU DESERVE THIS AWARD SO MUCH.

AND WE ARE VERY THANKFUL THAT YOU ARE IN OUR LIVES.

AND I CAN SPEAK ON BEHALF OF MYSELF AND ALL THE PARENTS THAT I KNOW, THAT ALL YOUR KIDS HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD, AND I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HOLDS LEARNING PATH. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH.

WE'RE SO PROUD TO RECOGNIZE DAWN NOTO AS LEADER OF THE PACK, SHE IS AT BRENT ELEMENTARY.

I KNOW SHE STARTED MANY YEARS AGO AT [INAUDIBLE] AND THEN CAME TO BRENT, BUT DON IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT WE CONSIDER THE GLUE.

SHE HELPS HOLD PEOPLE TOGETHER, AND SHE DOES SUCH A FANTASTIC JOB.

SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS.

SHE'S ALWAYS INVOLVED IN WHAT SHE CAN DO FOR HER STUDENTS, TO HELP THEM GROW, TO MAKE THEM BETTER.

HER TEAM RELIES ON HER.

WE RELY ON HER.

SHE'S ONE OF OUR GO TO PEOPLE.

AS A PRINCIPAL, WE THINK OF WHO YOU NEED ON YOUR STAFF TO HELP YOU FIGURE OUT THINGS, ANSWER QUESTIONS.

WHAT IS IT LIKE WE GO TO HER TO GET INPUT? TELL US WHAT YOU THINK.

AND TRY NEW THINGS.

SHE IS A FANTASTIC LEADER.

AND WE LOVE HER SO MUCH.

WHEN WE CAME TO RECOGNIZE HER, HER TEAM WAS SO EXCITED AND CELEBRATING WITH HER.

THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS SHE COULD BE NOMINATED FOR.

IN THIS INSTANCE, SHE WAS NOMINATED BY A PARENT WHO SAW THE IMPACT SHE'S MAKING ON STUDENTS, BUT SHE'S COULD BE NOMINATED FOR MANY THINGS.

AND FROM ALL OF US, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, WE COULD NOT HAVE A CAMPUS LIKE BRENT IS WITHOUT PEOPLE LIKE DAWN WHO JUST INVEST THEIR HEART AND SOUL. IN THIS CAMPUS, IN THIS DISTRICT, HER STUDENTS, HER CHILDREN, HER OWN CHILDREN WENT HERE AS STUDENTS AND GREW UP, DID ALL THE THINGS THROUGH BAND AND EVERYTHING.

BUT SHE'S BEEN PART OF OUR FAMILY HERE AT LITTLE ELM AND PART OF WHAT WE NEED TO KEEP US GOING KEEP US DOING WHAT WE DO EACH AND EVERY DAY. AND WE LOVE YOU, DAWN.

WE APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU DO.

THANK YOU. MS. DAWN NOTO, COME ON DOWN.

GOOD EVENING.

OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL IS NOELIA ARMAS VELASQUEZ.

SO, NOELIA, WHERE ARE YOU? COME ON UP. SO, NOELIA, YOUR SCIENCE TEACHER, MR. MAHAFFEY, SAYS, I HAVE SEVERAL REASONS WHY I BELIEVE THIS YOUNG LADY EXEMPLIFIES AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT.

I RECALL A TRAINING SESSION WHERE A VIDEO WAS SHOWN DEPICTING TEACHERS EXPRESSING TO STUDENTS THAT THEY ARE THE REASON FOR TEACHERS DEDICATION TO WORK, MAKING THEIR JOB FULFILLING AND WORTHWHILE.

I FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT NOELIA.

SHE HAS BEEN SO SELFLESS IN HELPING OUR ELL STUDENTS IN MY CLASS.

WHEN WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER AND FOR GIVING THEM INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT HER, MY SIXTH PERIOD AND MY ENTIRE DAY WOULD BE MUCH MORE CHALLENGING.

I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR STUDENTS LIKE NOELIA.

MISS THOMAS, HER MATH TEACHER, SAYS NOELIA IS ALWAYS GIVING IT HER BEST ACADEMICALLY AND WITH HER FRIENDS.

SHE REMINDS HER FRIENDS TO STAY ON TASK TO HELP WORK AS A TEAM, AS WELL AS STAYING ON TASK WITHIN HER OWN WORK.

SHE IS VERY CONSCIOUS OF OTHER STUDENTS NEEDS AND ALWAYS HELPS STUDENTS AROUND HER WITH THEIR WORK, OR EVEN TO HELP THEM FIND SOMETHING.

SHE IS VERY SWEET AND A GREAT STUDENT AND A FRIEND TO ALL.

SHE IS AN OVERALL AMAZING YOUNG LADY.

MR. MARSHALL, NOELIA IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW HARD WORKING A STUDENT SHOULD BE.

SHE HAS TONS OF PRIDE IN HER WORK.

SHE IS ALSO VERY HELPFUL AND PATIENT WITH STUDENTS THAT NEED HELP ON A TOPIC, TRUE DEFINITION OF A LEADER.

I AM VERY HAPPY THAT NOELIA WILL BE REPRESENTED AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.

THE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO SEE WHAT LEADERS LITTLE ELM CAN PRODUCE.

MISS RIVAS, SPANISH TEACHER I MET NOELIA TWO YEARS AGO AND SINCE THEN SHE HAS ALWAYS EMBODIED THE CHARACTER OF A LEADER IN MY CLASSROOM.

I KNOW THAT I CAN COUNT ON NOELIA TO HELP MY GUEST TEACHERS WHEN I AM NOT AROUND.

SHE SHOWS INTEGRITY IN THE CLASS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, RESPECT.

SHE SHOWS RESPECT TOWARDS HER ELDERS AND ALSO TOWARDS HER PEERS.

IN RETURN SHE IS WELL RESPECTED AMONG HER PEERS AND SHE STANDS OUT DUE TO HER SWEET PERSONALITY.

I'M THANKFUL FOR STUDENTS LIKE NOELIA THAT ALWAYS TREAT OTHERS THE WAY THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED, AND IS A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR HER PEERS.

[00:25:01]

CONGRATULATIONS, NOELIA.

HERE'S YOUR CERTIFICATE. [INAUDIBLE] . THANK YOU.

NOW, FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL.

ALL RIGHT.

KADE SUTTNER, CAN YOU COME UP HERE WITH ME? ALRIGHT. GOOD JOB, KADE.

ALRIGHT. I HAVE A COUPLE TEACHERS SAID SOME GREAT THINGS ABOUT YOU.

OKAY. FIRST YOUR ENGLISH TEACHER, MISS GARY.

KATE IS AN EXCELLENT STUDENT.

HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND HIS SENSE OF HUMOR SHINE THROUGH IN HIS WORK.

HE HAS PERTINENT QUESTIONS IN OUR DISCUSSION AND IS ALWAYS CAUGHT UP ON HIS WORK, EVEN WHEN HE'S BEEN OUT.

[INAUDIBLE].

OKAY. NOW, YOUR HEALTH SCIENCE TEACHER, KATE SUTTER, IS A WONDERFUL PERSON, AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT.

HE IS VERY KIND, FRIENDLY AND RESPECTFUL, WHICH CONTRIBUTES TO A POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE WHEREVER HE IS.

KADE WORKS WELL IN GROUPS AS THOUGHTFUL QUESTIONS AND DEMONSTRATES A STRONG WORK ETHIC.

KATE'S QUALITIES MAKE HIM A HUMBLE YET REMARKABLE INDIVIDUAL IN BOTH HIS PERSONAL INTERACTIONS AND ACADEMIC PURSUITS.

YOU ARE ONE OF THE STUDENTS OF THE MONTH AT LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL.

GREAT JOB KADE. IS YOUR MOM HERE? YES, SIR. IS DAD HERE? COME ON UP HERE, GUYS.

[INAUDIBLE].

CONGRATULATIONS. AWESOME.

[INAUDIBLE] . OKAY. REBECCA [INAUDIBLE]. REBECCA.

YAY! I'M GONNA READ SOME THINGS.

OKAY? OKAY.

REBECCA HAS BEEN AMAZING SPIRIT.

SHE IS PATIENT, UNDERSTANDING AND ALWAYS HAS A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

SHE WORKS HARD, ALWAYS DOES HER BEST IN ALL OF HER WORK, AND IS A REAL PLEASURE TO HAVE IN CLASS.

THAT'S FROM YOUR GOVERNMENT ECONOMICS TEACHER AND.

YOUR CTE TEACHER SAYS REBECCA IS SO DESERVING OF THIS RECOGNITION, SHE BRINGS HER UNIQUE BLEND OF PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC PROWESS, CREATIVITY, AND PERSONALIZATION WITH EVERY PROJECT. SHE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO CONNECT WHAT SHE LEARNS TO REAL WORLD EXPERIENCES.

REBECCA IS AN OUTSTANDING BUSINESS STUDENT AND A NATURAL LEADER.

ALTHOUGH SHE PROBABLY WON'T ADMIT IT.

AND ONE MORE THING.

SHE IS ALSO THE ONLY STUDENT AT LITTLE ELM HIGH SCHOOL WHO WAS WHO'S ADVANCED TO THE FINAL STANDING IN THE NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OF 2024 BY DEMONSTRATING, THROUGH DISTINGUISHED PERFORMANCE, HIGH POTENTIAL FOR FUTURE ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

SO REBECCA IS ALSO THE STUDENT OF THE MONTH, OR ONE OF THEM AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, AND IS ALSO THE ONLY NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST.

LET'S GIVE A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE.

[INAUDIBLE].

MOM, CAN YOU COME ON UP? [INAUDIBLE]

[00:30:19]

. OKAY, WE'LL HEAR OAK POINT ELEMENTARY HOUSE COUNCIL PRESENTER DONNIE BARTLETT.

WELL, IT'S ACTUALLY GOING TO BE MS. OLSON. MISS OLSON, MISS WERTH.

YUP, MISS TORRES, YOU GUYS WANT TO COME UP AND WITH YOUR CHILDREN? OKAY. YOU'RE JUST WATCHING. OKAY.

COME ON. GOOD EVENING.

THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US A CHANCE TO SPEAK WITH YOU.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY NOT KNOW ME, I'M KORI WERTH AND THE PRINCIPAL AT OAK POINT ELEMENTARY.

I WANTED TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE TO YOU ONE OF OUR AMAZING COUNSELORS, MISS KATE OLSON.

MISS OLSON HAS CREATED A FANTASTIC PROGRAM ON OUR CAMPUS TO HELP BUILD OUR FUTURE LEADERS CALLED OAK POINT HOUSE COUNCIL.

AS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW, OUR CAMPUS PARTICIPATES IN THE HOUSE SYSTEM.

THIS IS A SYSTEM THAT WAS INITIATED AT THE RON CLARK ACADEMY IN ORDER TO HELP ESTABLISH A STRONG SCHOOL CULTURE, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS, AND PROMOTE THE FEELING OF WE BEFORE ME. HOUSE COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE SELECTED BY TAKING PART IN A RIGOROUS INTERVIEW PROCESS WITH FELLOW HOUSE LEADERS.

THEY RUN A CAMPAIGN AND THEN THEY'RE VOTED ON BY THE STUDENT BODY.

THIS YEAR, MISS OLSON HAS TAKEN THIS PROGRAM A STEP FURTHER.

WE ARE EXCITED TO SAY THAT OAK POINT HOUSE COUNCILMEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST EVER AMAZING SHAKE CONTEST THIS PAST JANUARY.

MR. LAMB AND MR. BARTLETT WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE IN ATTENDANCE AND GOT TO WITNESS THIS EVENT IN ACTION.

WE ARE EXCITED TO SAY THAT THESE FIVE STUDENTS WILL BE TRAVELING TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA IN JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS TO REPRESENT NOT ONLY OUR CAMPUS, BUT ALSO LITTLE ELM ISD AT THE RON CLARK ACADEMIES NATIONAL AMAZING SHAKE COMPETITION.

HI EVERYONE.

SO HOUSE COUNCIL TEACHES STUDENTS LEADERSHIP SKILLS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.

ONE OF THE BIG IDEAS FOR THIS GROUP WAS TO DEVELOP LEADERS AND FILL THEM WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THAT WILL BENEFIT THEM THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

FROM THAT, THE AMAZING SHAKE WAS BROUGHT TO LIFE.

THIS COMPETITION CHALLENGED THEIR POISE, KNOWLEDGE, LEADERSHIP AND HUMILITY AS A TESTAMENT TO THEIR HARD WORK.

THE FIVE YOUNG LEADERS ARE HERE WITH US TONIGHT WITH A CHALLENGE TO GET COMFORTABLE WITH RESEARCH AND PUBLIC SPEAKING.

THESE YOUNG WOMEN WILL PRESENT ISSUES THAT SCHOOLS ARE FACING AND PROPOSE SOLUTIONS.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK THEM QUESTIONS AND PROVIDE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, BECAUSE WE WANT THEM TO BE PREPARED AS POSSIBLE.

IT IS OKAY TO BE HARD ON THEM.

THEY CAN TAKE IT. THEY HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR THEIR SELF AND THEY ALSO KNOW THE EXPECTATIONS I HAVE OF THEM.

AND THEY CAN HONESTLY HANDLE CRITICISM BETTER THAN MOST ADULTS.

SO ALTHOUGH THIS IS AN EXERCISE FOR THEM AS THEY PREPARE FOR THE BIG WEEKEND, I CHALLENGE YOU TO LISTEN AND CONSIDER THEIR THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS.

SO OUR FIRST SPEAKER IS GOING TO BE SARAH CASAREZ.

THANK YOU. HI, MY NAME IS SARAH CASAREZ.

I WANT TO ADDRESS A PROBLEM THAT WE ARE SEEING MORE OFTEN, WHICH IS OUR AMAZING TEACHERS LEAVING OUR SCHOOLS.

THIS IS FOR VARIOUS REASONS, BUT ONE OF THEM IS BECAUSE TEACHERS NOT ONLY TEACH THEIR STUDENTS, BUT SOMETIMES BECOME A NURSE, JANITOR, PSYCHOLOGIST, PARENT, COUNSELOR.

AND TO FINISH THEIR ACTUAL SCHOOL WORK, THEY NEED TO STAY LONG HOURS AFTER SCHOOL.

ONE SOLUTION TO KEEPING OUR TEACHERS WOULD BE SHORTER SCHOOL HOURS, SO THEY CAN GET OUT OF SCHOOL EARLIER AND SPEND TIME WITH THEIR FAMILY. ANOTHER SOLUTION WOULD BE LOOKING INTO COMPETITIVE BENEFITS SO TEACHERS KNOW WE CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY NEED AND WANT THE BEST FOR THEM, AND THAT WE'RE THE DISTRICT TO GO TO AND NOT ONE AROUND US.

I KNOW WE ALL WANT THE BEST FOR TEACHERS AND IN MY EXPERIENCE, TEACHERS HAVE HELPED MOLD ME AND HAVE GIVEN ME TOOLS FOR MY FUTURE.

THIS IS WHY, WITH BETTER BENEFITS AND SHORTER SCHOOL DAYS, TEACHERS WILL STAY IN OUR DISTRICT AND WILL GET THEIR JOB DONE HAPPILY AND WITH EASE.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO GO TALK TO OUR STATE LEGISLATORS ABOUT SOME OF THIS? YES, I WOULD LOVE TO.

PERFECT. WE WILL SIGN YOU UP TO GO WITH US.

I HAVE A QUESTION.

[00:35:01]

SO WHAT DO YOU FEEL ABOUT STUDENT DISCIPLINE THAT ALSO HAS A PROBLEM TOO? CAN YOU REPEAT THAT, PLEASE? STUDENT DISCIPLINE.

SOMETIMES THAT IMPACTS TEACHERS AS WELL.

AND WHEN I MEAN STUDENT DISCIPLINE, THAT IS STUDENTS WHO ARE OUT OF LINE WITH THE TEACHERS OR STUDENTS THAT MAY BECOME PHYSICAL WITH TEACHERS. YEAH.

SO I HAVE A PARENT AS A TEACHER.

AND OH, SO HE WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT, LIKE, ANOTHER REASON THAT TEACHERS ARE LEAVING IS DISCIPLINE.

YES. AND LIKE, SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN KIDS GET PHYSICAL? WHAT'S YOUR SOLUTION? OH WELL OF COURSE KIDS NEED TO LEARN DISCIPLINE.

BUT SOMETIMES WHAT THE SCHOOL OFFERS TO DISCIPLINE, THE CHILDREN AREN'T ENOUGH.

SO MAYBE IF WE COULD ADD ANOTHER STEP, LIKE, NOT ONLY ISS OR OSS, THAT WILL JUST BE LIKE, OH, I GOT A MINOR THING.

SOMETIMES THAT'S MINOR, JUST SOME KIDS.

SO IF WE COULD ADD ANOTHER STEP THAT IF IT GETS PHYSICAL, OF COURSE THAT WOULD BE THAT OTHER STEP.

SO THEY DON'T DO IT AGAIN OKAY.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT. OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS SHALOM ORTIZ.

HELLO. GOOD EVENING EVERYONE.

I'M THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PLEASE HEAR MY SOLUTIONS.

SO I'M HERE TO TALK TODAY ABOUT THE NUTRIENTS AND THE FRESHNESS THAT WE NEED IN OUR SCHOOL MEALS.

SO WHY DO WE NEED FRESH FOOD? GROWING CHILDREN NEED FRESH FOOD FULL OF VITAMINS AND MINERALS FOR THEM TO GROW, TO HAVE A HEALTHY BODY.

IN FACT, FRESH FOOD IS PROVED TO HELP STUDENTS LEARN THERE.

IT GIVES THEM BETTER ENERGY AND OVERALL THEY CAN LEARN BETTER, WHICH IS AN IMPACT FOR TEACHERS TOO.

ALSO WITH THEIR BETTER HEALTH.

IT ALSO IS PROVED FOR ANXIETY AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH.

IT IMPROVES SO INSTEAD OF THEM.

SO IT ALSO HELPS TEACHERS BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT HAVING AS MUCH AS ANXIETY AND THEY GET BETTER ON THEIR SCHOOLWORK.

NEXT. I'M ASKING.

I'M TELLING YOU ABOUT NUTRITIOUS FOODS.

SO CHILDREN SHOULD ONLY HAVE 25G OF SUGAR A DAY.

IF THEY HAVE MORE THAN THAT, IT CAN HAVE NEGATIVE HEALTH EFFECTS SUCH AS OBESITY, LONG TERM OBESITY, AND DIABETES.

JUST TODAY'S BREAKFAST, WHICH IS THE SAME IN THE HIGH SCHOOLS ALL OVER THE DISTRICT.

IT WAS 60G OF SUGAR.

TOO MUCH SUGAR AND PRESERVATIVES IMPACTS STUDENT LEARNING AND MAKES THEM UNFOCUSED AND EASILY DISTRACTED.

CURRENTLY, MOST OF THE FOOD WE SERVE AT OUR IN OUR DISTRICT HAS TO BE MICROWAVED, WHICH CAN LEACH CHEMICALS AND MICROPLASTICS.

ALSO, FOOD IS EXPENSIVE IN LOW INCOME FAMILIES DEPEND ON THE SCHOOL FOR NUTRITIOUS MEALS.

BUT IF WE'RE NOT GIVING NUTRITIOUS MEALS, THEY'RE NOT GETTING ANY.

AND OVERALL IT'S FOR THE BETTER.

HERE'S SOME SOLUTIONS.

SO WE SHOULD INVEST IN LOCAL FRESH FARMS SO WE HAVE BETTER FOOD OVERALL AND WE'RE GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.

SECOND, WE SHOULD INVEST IN COMMUNITY GARDENS AT THE SCHOOLS.

IT'D BE A FUN AND A LEARNING EXPERIENCE.

MY THIRD SUGGESTION ARE OFFERING SNACKS THAT ARE LOW IN SUGAR BECAUSE THEN KIDS WON'T LIKE THE SUGAR WON'T ADD UP, AND THEY'LL HAVE AND THEY'LL HAVE A BETTER LUNCH.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR TIME.

I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT REST OF YOUR DAY.

ANY QUESTIONS? I COMPLETELY AM ON BOARD WITH YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS AND WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DO HAVE IN THE COMMUNITY, FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THIS, IS WE HAVE WHAT IS KNOWN AS SAINT ARBOR COMMUNITY GARDEN, WHICH IS LOCATED HERE IN LITTLE ELM, WHICH PROVIDES, I THINK LAST YEAR WE PROVIDED ALMOST 2,000 POUNDS OF FRESH VEGETABLES AND FOODS TO LOW INCOME STUDENTS.

SO THAT'S THE OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS WHO REALLY WANT TO KNOW A LITTLE BIT MORE.

IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED IN THAT TOO.

SO GREAT JOB.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.

ALL RIGHT, WE HAVE [INAUDIBLE].

HI, MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE] AND I'M A FIFTH GRADER AT OAK POINT ELEMENTARY.

TODAY I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT PREVENTIONS ON BULLYING.

LAST YEAR IN FOURTH GRADE, I GOT BULLIED BECAUSE MY FACE WAS NATURALLY RED AND A GIRL KEPT ON CALLING ME A RED TOMATO.

IT GOT SO BAD I DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY.

NOW, THIS IS A FORM OF THE FEW TYPES OF BULLYING.

BULLYING IS ONE OF THE NEGATIVES IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

ALSO IN AMERICA, WE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO PUT AN END TO IT, BUT WE CAN AT LEAST TRY TO MAKE IT BETTER.

[00:40:06]

I CAME UP WITH THREE PREVENTIONS TO STOP BULLYING.

I'LL EXPLAIN THEM NOW. FIRST OF ALL, WE SHOULD HAVE A HOPE SQUAD LIKE THE KIDS AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, BECAUSE THE KIDS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SEEM TO LISTEN BETTER AND ACCEPT THE ADVICE.

IT WILL COMFORT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN BULLIED, BUT NOT ONLY HAVE PROBLEMS BECAUSE SOMETIMES KIDS FEEL BETTER TALKING TO OTHERS THAT HAVE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED IT IN THE PAST FEW YEARS INSTEAD OF TEACHERS AND STAFF, AND THEY CAN FEEL FREE TO TALK TO A COUNSELOR INSTEAD IF THEY'D LIKE.

WE SHOULD ALSO HAVE ORGANIZED PAPERS WHICH TO RECORD WHAT HAPPENED.

AND IF THERE IS OTHER THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS IMPORTANT, THEY CAN REQUEST A MEETING, AND IT WOULD BE IF THE STUDENT FINISHES THEIR WORK, BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T WORK IF THEY KEPT ON GETTING DISTRACTED FROM THEIR WORK.

SO NOW THE NEXT PREVENTION IS GOING TO BE ABOUT CONSEQUENCES FOR THE BULLYING.

THE USUAL IS USUALLY ISS STUDY HALL WALKING AT RECESS AND OTHERS THAT ARE NOT RECOGNIZABLE.

BUT WE HAD LOTS OF TIMES WHEN THE, CONSEQUENCES MEAN NOTHING AND THE ACTION KEEPS OCCURRING.

THE SOLUTION FOR THIS SHOULD BE AT SCHOOL.

A TEACHER CAN TALK TO TEACH BULLIES A LESSON ABOUT WHAT THEY DID, AND TO MAKE AN APOLOGY LETTER TO MAKE IT ALL FINE.

ALSO, THEY SHOULD BE GIVEN A WARNING.

THEN IN THE FUTURE THEY CAN MAYBE BECOME FRIENDS AND NOT HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. AND FOR THE LAST PREVENTIONS, WE SHOULD HAVE CERTAIN STANDARDS IN THE SCHOOL BECAUSE STUDENTS DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL AN ADULT WITHOUT THE BULLY HARMING THEM PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.

SO MAYBE WE CAN HANG UP STUDENT MADE POSTERS TELLING PEOPLE CALM AND PEACEFUL MESSAGES, LETTING THEM KNOW THAT THEY ARE WELCOME TO TELL ANY PROBLEMS THAT THEY HAVE. NOW I FINISH ALL OF MY THREE PREVENTIONS ON BULLYING.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

ANY QUESTIONS? ALL RIGHT. NEXT WE HAVE ESTELLA PEREZ TALKING ABOUT NEWCOMERS.

HI, MY NAME IS ESTELLA PEREZ AND I'M IN FIFTH GRADE.

I'M HERE TO ADDRESS THE TOPIC NEWCOMERS TO AMERICA.

ABOUT 23% OF SCHOOL CHILDREN IN AMERICA DO NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH AT HOME.

IMMIGRATION HAS GONE UP FROM JUST THREE 376,000 IN 2020 TO 2021, TO NEARLY 1.14 MILLION IN 2022 TO 2023.

WHILE TEACHERS TRY TO JUGGLE DOING ALL THE WORK, THEY ASKED STUDENTS TO HELP THE NEW STUDENTS AS A SORT OF TRANSLATOR.

THIS CAUSES THE STUDENTS TO GET BEHIND ON WORK OR GET BAD GRADES.

BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE INTERPRETERS.

USUALLY IT TAKES ONE OF THESE KIDS 2 TO 3 YEARS FOR THEM TO SPEAK, WRITE, AND READ IN A NEW LANGUAGE FLUENTLY.

AND SOME STUDENTS DON'T HAVE THIS TYPE OF TIME.

HOWEVER, IT TAKES A KID IN AN IMMERSED ENGLISH CLASS 100 DAYS, WHICH IS ABOUT SIX MONTHS.

IF THESE KIDS ARE TAUGHT REGULARLY BY A PROFESSIONAL BASED ON RESEARCH BUT IT TAKES 100 DAYS, WHICH IS ABOUT SIX MONTHS.

IF THESE KIDS ARE TAUGHT REGULARLY BY A PROFESSIONAL BASED ON RESEARCH, IT IS IMPORTANT FOR LEARNERS TO PRACTICE REGULARLY, NOT ONLY WITH A PROFESSIONAL AT SCHOOL, BUT ALSO WITH 1 OR 2 HOURS OF PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.

I PROPOSE THAT THE SCHOOL OFFERS A BILINGUAL PROGRAM THAT IS SELF-PACED, MEETING STUDENTS AT THEIR LEVEL.

THIS IS WHAT THE GOAL OF TEACHING ACADEMIC CONTENT IN TWO LANGUAGES IN A NATIVE LANGUAGE, SPANISH, AND IN A SECOND LANGUAGE, PREFERABLY ENGLISH.

THIS WAY THE PROFESSIONAL WILL BE HELPING THEM READ, WRITE, AND SPEAK IN ENGLISH, AS SOME ADULTS IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH, NOR BE ABLE TO TEACH THEM THESE THINGS WHILE STILL HAVING THE GOAL OF JOINING THEIR PEERS FOR SOCIAL TIME, WHICH IS LUNCH, RECESS, AND SPECIALS.

THIS CLASS WOULD BE IMPLEMENTED RIGHT AFTER THE KIDS ENTER OUR SCHOOL, AND IT SHOULD BE ONGOING AS STUDENTS LEARN MORE ENGLISH, THE AMOUNT OF GUIDANCE IN THE PRIMARY LANGUAGE DECREASES UNTIL FULL PROFICIENCY IN LANGUAGE IN ENGLISH IS OBTAINED.

THIS CAN BE EVALUATED EVERY YEAR TO SEE IF ITS EFFECTIVENESS, AND TO SEE IF IT IS NEEDED ANY MORE BASED ON THE NEWCOMERS.

FOR KIDS TO LEARN ENGLISH FASTER, I SUGGEST THEY TAKE THEIR CHROMEBOOKS HOME.

IF A KID DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET AT THEIR HOUSE, I SUGGEST PROVIDING A HOTSPOT SIMILAR TO WHAT WE DID IN COVID.

TAKING THE CHROMEBOOK HOME WILL PROVIDE THESE KIDS WITH A FUN PLAYING TIME WHILE ALSO LEARNING, LIKE WITH PRODIGY ENGLISH, DUOLINGO, BINGO KIDS, PIKA STUDY CAT AND MORE.

THESE APPS COULD BE DOWNLOADED BY OUR LISD TECHNICAL TEAM TO THE CHROMEBOOKS FOR THESE KIDS.

THIS WAY, THE TEACHERS CAN TRACK PROGRESS AND TURN IN THE GRADES THE KIDS PROGRESS.

IN CONCLUSION, HELPING NEWCOMERS TO AMERICA SHOULD BE AN IMPORTANT TOPIC TO ADDRESS.

[00:45:01]

ONE OF THE REASONS I THINK THESE ARE GOOD OPTIONS IS BECAUSE IT WILL HELP STUDENTS BUILD THEIR ENGLISH VOCABULARY, BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE, AND HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THE ENGLISH TOPICS TAUGHT BY THEIR TEACHERS IN THE FUTURE.

WHEN THESE KIDS HAVE LEVELED UP TO WHERE THE OTHER STUDENTS ARE IN ENGLISH, I THINK IT WILL ALSO HELP.

AS I KNOW SCHOOL GETS GRADED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS.

ANY QUESTIONS? THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT.

OUR FINAL PRESENTER IS PARKER BOWERMANBELL AND SHE IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.

GOOD EVENING, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS.

MY NAME IS PARKER BOWERMANBELL.

I ATTEND OAK POINT ELEMENTARY.

I'M IN THE FOURTH GRADE TODAY.

I'LL BE TALKING TO YOU ABOUT SPECIAL EDUCATION.

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY, A FRIEND, A COWORKER, OR EVEN A CLASSMATE WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY? WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT THE HELP AND SERVICES THAT ASSIST PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE UNDERFUNDED? SOME CHILDREN ARE DISABLED OR HAVE LEARNING DISABILITIES SUCH AS DYSLEXIA, SPEECH IMPEDIMENTS, AND HARD OF HEARING SUCH AS MYSELF. SPECIAL EDUCATION IS ABOUT TEACHING THESE CHILDREN HOW TO LEARN TO BE WITH DIFFERENT STUDENTS AND LEARN HOW TO BE.

LEARN HOW TO READ AND SPEAK.

SPECIAL NEEDS INCLUDE SPEECH OR HEARING DIFFICULTIES, EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS, PHYSICAL DISABILITIES, AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS.

STUDENTS WITH THESE SPECIAL NEEDS OFTEN NEED MORE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.

THIS MAY MEAN DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO TEACHING, ACCESS TO A RESOURCE ROOM, AND USE OF ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY [INAUDIBLE] STUDENTS DO BETTER WITH SPECIAL TEACHING STYLES OR DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. ONE WAY TO BETTER SERVE OUR STUDENTS IS BY PROVIDING A MICROPHONE AND ASL TRAINER FOR HARD OF HEARING STUDENTS.

ANOTHER WAY IS TO HAVE A TALKING CALCULATOR FOR BLIND STUDENTS.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

ANY QUESTIONS? GOOD JOB. GREAT JOB.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU GUYS.

THANK YOU.

[INAUDIBLE].

OKAY.

AT THIS TIME, MR. BARTLETT IS GOING TO SHARE OUR AMAZING SPELLING BEE WITH YOU.

[INAUDIBLE] COULD YOU COME UP HERE, PLEASE? DO YOU MIND? THANK YOU.

SO, MISS [INAUDIBLE] AND MISS HOLCOMB STARTED OUR I GUESS FIRST IS, I'M ASSUMING IT'S OUR INAUGURAL DISTRICT SPELLING BEE. YES.

SO AGAIN, WE WANT TO HONOR THOSE KIDDOS THAT COMPETED AND WON AT OUR DISTRICT LEVEL.

I'M GOING TO LET MISS [INAUDIBLE] TALK MORE ABOUT THE ONE THAT SHE ORGANIZED.

MISS HOLCOMB, LAUREN COULD NOT BE HERE THIS.

SHE HAD TO BE WITH HER MOTHER.

BUT SHE DID WRITE A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THEM COMPETING AT THE REGIONAL SPELLING BEE, WHICH IS KIND OF COOL.

AND SO I'LL READ THAT ABOUT THOSE TWO PARTICIPANTS, BUT I'M GOING TO LET MISS [INAUDIBLE] GO FIRST.

GOOD EVENING.

I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE SPANISH SPELLING BEE IN AUGUST, AND I QUICKLY EMAILED LAUREN AND SAID, WE HAVE TO DO THIS.

AND LAUREN SAID, ABSOLUTELY, WE'RE DOING THIS.

SO WE DID IT.

WE HAVE TWO SPANISH SPELLING BEE WINNERS FOR THE DISTRICT.

OUR SPANISH SPELLING BEE WILL THEY WILL COMPETE AT REGION 11 ON MARCH 22ND.

IF WE HAVE A WINNER, THEN THEY WILL COMPETE AT NATIONALS IN EL PASO.

SO IT'S A PRETTY BIG DEAL.

THE SPELLING LIST FOR OUR SPANISH SPEAKERS IS 1300 WORDS.

SO IT IS A LOT OF WORDS FOR THEM TO LEARN.

AND ACCENTS DO COUNT.

SO I'M SUPER EXCITED THAT WE HAVE TWO LOVELY LADIES THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE RECOGNIZING TODAY.

SO OUR FIRST UP IS OUR FIRST RUNNER UP.

SHE IS A WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT AND THIS IS MISS JOLETTE MONTES.

[00:50:32]

AND OUR SPANISH SPELLING BEE CHAMPION FOR 23-24 IS AN OAK POINT STUDENT.

AND THAT IS. YES, OAK POINT.

GO FOR IT. THAT IS MISS SARAH MOLINA.

YEAH. SO I JUST WANT TO READ REAL QUICK WHAT MISS HOLCOMB HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE TWO STUDENTS THAT COMPETED IN THE SPELLING BEE. YEAH, THE REGIONAL SPELLING BEE.

OKAY. SO SHE SAID THAT I WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT OUR TWO SPELLING BEE CHAMPS REPRESENTED LEISD.

WELL, THIS EVENING AT THE DENTON COUNTY SPELLING BEE.

VICTORIA AND SIEANA DID AMAZING.

THEY SHOWED GRACE UNDER PRESSURE, PERSEVERANCE AND DETERMINATION.

THE COMPETITION WAS FIERCE.

THERE WERE 24 SPELLERS, TWO FROM EACH DISTRICT, CHARTER OR PRIVATE SCHOOL IN DENTON COUNTY, RANGING FROM THIRD GRADERS TO EIGHTH GRADERS.

SIEANA PARTICIPATED IN FIVE ROUNDS AND VICTORIA IN SEVEN.

SO IT WAS AN EXCITING NIGHT AND BOTH GIRLS LEFT EXHAUSTED AFTER GIVING IT THEIR ALL.

AND THAT'S WHAT WE WANT IN COMPETITION.

LET'S GIVE IT OUR ALL AND JUST WALK AWAY EXHAUSTED.

SO THAT'S FANTASTIC.

SO OUR RUNNER UP PERSON IS SIENNA MOFFAT.

COULD YOU PLEASE COME UP? MAMA, WILL YOU COME UP HERE TOO, PLEASE? AND OUR CHAMPION SHE IS FROM HACKBERRY.

AND THAT IS VICTORIA YORK.

VICTORIA.

SO, VICTORIA'S PARENTS, WILL YOU COME DOWN, PLEASE, AND TAKE A PICTURE WITH HER? AND ALSO THE TWO BILINGUAL WINNERS.

WE WANT YOUR FAMILY TO TAKE A PHOTO AS WELL REAL QUICK.

I'M SORRY WE DIDN'T DO THAT WHEN YOU WERE UP HERE, OKAY? IF Y'ALL COULD COME UP AS WELL.

THE TWO SPANISH BEE WINNERS IN JUST A SECOND.

WAY TO GO, VICTORIA.

SARAH AND JOEL.

JOEL.

THANK YOU.

[00:55:03]

OKAY, I BELIEVE THAT WRAPS UP THE SUPERINTENDENT SPOTLIGHT.

AND THERE IS NO REPORT FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT, SO TURN IT BACK TO YOU ON NUMBER EIGHT.

ALL RIGHT. WELL, GENERALLY AT THIS POINT IN TIME, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND LET EVERYBODY LEAVE.

BUT IF YOU'RE A FOURTH GRADER UP, WE'RE GOING TO MAKE YOU STAY.

I'M JUST PLAYING.

EVERYONE'S GOT SOME GOOD BEDTIMES.

SO EVERYONE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO AT THIS POINT YOU'RE MORE THAN WELCOME TO STAY.

WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU STAY, BUT.

WE'RE GOING.

[INAUDIBLE] . OKAY. WE'LL GO AHEAD AND CONTINUE HERE.

WE'LL GO WITH CITIZEN INPUT.

FLORES? DO WE HAVE ANY CITIZEN INPUT? NO, SIR. OH.

SO WRONG.

WE'LL GO ON TO APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES.

[9. Approval of Minutes]

CONSIDER THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES FROM JANUARY 22ND, 2024.

HOPEFULLY A CHANCE TO REVIEW THOSE.

DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED? SO MOVED. SO MOTION FROM MARY, SECOND FROM KEN.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED? I'M ABSTAINING. ANY QUESTIONS? NOPE. ALL RIGHT. WE'RE ALL GOOD.

ALL RIGHT. WE'LL GO ON TO.

[10. Action Items]

I TURN THE PAGE TOO SOON.

ACTION ITEMS. CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT EXTENSION AND COMPENSATION.

DO I HAVE A MOTION FROM THE FLOOR TO ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION BY THE BOARD MADE DURING CLOSED SESSION.

SO MOVED. DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND? SO I HAVE A FIRST FROM MARY.

SECOND FROM JEFF.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED? MOTION PASSES.

WE'LL GO ON TO ITEM B.

CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE 2024 2025 ADMINISTRATOR CONTRACTS, MISS BROWN.

GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT OLSON.

MR. LAMB, BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

ANNUALLY IN FEBRUARY, I BRING THE SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ADMINISTRATOR CONTRACTS, SPECIFICALLY OUR PRINCIPAL CONTRACTS AND OUR DIRECTOR CONTRACTS AND OUR CENTRAL OFFICE CONTRACTS AND EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS.

AND SO THOSE HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED TO YOU PREVIOUSLY PRIOR TO TODAY.

SO IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF ADMINISTRATION THAT WE THAT YOU APPROVE THE CONTRACT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 24-25 AS SUBMITTED.

AND AS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION.

YES. THANK YOU.

SO DO I HAVE A MOTION? I HAVE A MOTION FROM MARY.

DO I HAVE A SECOND? ANY QUESTIONS? SEEING NONE. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

MOTION PASSES.

THANK YOU, MISS BROWN, ON THAT ONE.

BUT OF COURSE YOU COULD JUST STAY RIGHT THERE BECAUSE NEXT IS CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE 2024-2025 FTE REQUEST FOR DISTRICT NEEDS.

YES. THANK YOU.

SO FOR THIS ACTION ITEM, THERE ARE TWO FTE REQUESTS THAT WE'RE BRINGING TO YOU FOR CONSIDERATION THIS EVENING.

ONE OF THEM IS FOR THE A NEW FTE FOR PRINCIPAL POSITION AT THE NEWLY NAMED LAKEWOOD VILLAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

[01:00:02]

THE SECOND FTE REQUEST IS REALLY JUST A REQUEST FOR A POSITION LIKE AN FTE.

THIS IS FOR A DIAGNOSTICIAN.

THE CAMPUS IS GOING TO BE DETERMINED, BUT THE FUNDING FOR THE DIAGNOSTICIAN POSITION IS REALLY COMING FROM THIS.

IT WILL NOT NEGATIVELY IMPACT THE BUDGET.

BECAUSE MISS ROBERTS IS GOING TO BE UTILIZING FUNDS THAT ARE CURRENTLY BEING USED FOR CONTRACTED SERVICES CEASING THOSE CONTRACTED SERVICES AND THEN MOVING THOSE FUNDS INTO THE PAYROLL PART OF THE BUDGET SO THAT WE'RE NOT HAVING ANY KIND OF NEGATIVE FINANCIAL IMPACT ON THE BUDGET.

SO WITH THAT, THE ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF DISTRICT NEEDS FOR THESE TWO FTES FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR AS PRESENTED.

DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE? SO MOVED. DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND? I GOT A SECOND.

CLOSEST TO MY LEFT. WE'LL GO [INAUDIBLE].

ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? SEEING. OH, YOU DO? GO AHEAD.

COME ON. YOU'RE ON. WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT THE [INAUDIBLE], IS IT GOING TO BE SOMEONE JUST TO ONE CAMPUS OR ARE THEY GOING TO FLOAT BETWEEN THE OTHERS? YES. SO THE IF YOU ALL WERE TO APPROVE THIS DIAGNOSTICIAN POSITION, IT WOULD BE ASSIGNED TO ONE CAMPUS.

AND WITH THE APPROVAL HOPEFULLY OF THIS POSITION, THAT WILL MEAN THAT WE'LL HAVE A DIAGNOSTICIAN AT EVERY SINGLE CAMPUS IN OUR DISTRICT.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? SEEING NONE. THEN WE HAVE A MOTION.

AND A SECOND. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED? MOTION PASSES. THANK YOU, MS. BROWN. NEXT, WE'LL HAVE TO CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF LAKEWOOD VILLAGE ELEMENTARY.

EARLY SITE PACKAGE.

MICKEY? SPEED. GOOD EVENING PRESIDENT OLSON.

SUPERINTENDENT LAMB, BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

I'M COMING TO YOU TODAY FOR PRESENTING THE EARLY SITE PACKAGE FOR LAKEWOOD VILLAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

JUST TO GIVE YOU LITTLE INSIGHT, THIS EARLY SITE PACKAGE WILL ESSENTIALLY GIVE US A FEW MORE MONTHS OF CONSTRUCTION THAT WILL BE NEEDED.

IT WILL ALSO GIVE THE GC A CHANCE TO ORDER SOME OF THESE LONG LEAD ITEMS. SOME OF THESE ITEMS MAY TAKE A YEAR OR MORE TO FOR US TO PROCURE.

SO THAT'S THE REASON WHY WE'RE COMING WITH THIS EARLY SITE PACKAGE.

THE BUDGET FOR THE SITE PACKAGE, IT WILL BE ROLLED INTO THE MASTER BUDGET WITH THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL BUDGET THAT WILL BE PRESENTED AT A LATER DATE.

WITH THAT BEING SAID THE ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS THE APPROVAL OF THE EARLY SITE PACKAGE BUDGET AND AUTHORIZED SUPERINTENDENT AND HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS.

DO I HAVE A MOTION TO ACCEPT? SO MOVED. DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND. ANY QUESTIONS? SEEING NONE. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED? MOTION PASSES.

THANK YOU, MR. JAMES. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW SCHOOL.

WITH THAT, WE'LL GO TO THE CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD TO CONTRACT WITH INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT FIRM MISS ADAMS. GOOD EVENING BOARD.

AS PRESENTED IN YOUR AGENDA, WE ARE REQUESTING AN ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY WITH OUR BOND FUNDS.

WE HAVE OUR BOND FUNDS INVESTED IN POOLS AND INVESTMENT POOLS.

AND THIS IS THE PUBLIC FUNDS INVESTMENT ACT.

ALLOWS US TO INVEST WITH THE PUBLIC TRUST ADVISORS, BUT WE DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE AN AGREEMENT WITH THEM.

AND THIS IS JUST SO THAT WE CAN STAGGER OUR THE 180 MILLION THAT WE ISSUED LAST YEAR.

BECAUSE THESE PROJECTS, AS YOU CAN SEE, ARE NOT PROGRESSING IMMEDIATELY.

AND THAT WE HAVE STAGGERED LADDERED PAYMENTS FOR THEM.

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN GAIN AS MUCH INTEREST ON THOSE AS POSSIBLE TO HELP OFFSET INFLATION AND ESCALATION, WHICH THERE IS PLENTY OF.

AND SO WE CAN, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD, WE WILL THROUGH OUR TEXAS CLASS IN YOUR STATEMENTS WILL STILL COME FROM TEXAS CLASS, BUT WE CAN THROUGH THEM USE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PUBLIC TRUSTED ADVISORS.

EVERYTHING STILL FOLLOWS THE PUBLIC FUNDS INVESTMENT ACT.

THEY HAVE ALL PFIA COVERAGE.

IT'S JUST WE DON'T HAVE A CURRENT CONTRACT WITH THEM.

AND SO ALTHOUGH THEY'RE OPERATING THROUGH TEXAS CLASS, I WANTED TO BRING THAT DIRECTLY TO YOU.

WE HAVE SO FAR BEEN YIELDING A REALLY NICE RATE IN THE INVESTMENT POOLS BECAUSE THE CURRENT RATES ARE SO HIGH.

WHAT THIS REALLY ALLOWS US TO DO IS STAGGER OUT AND CAPTURE SOME OF THAT CURRENT MARKET ON SOME YIELDS THAT WILL BE FURTHER LADDERED OUT THAT WITH OUR DAILY INVESTMENT POOLS, WE HAVE TO TAKE WHATEVER RATE IS OFFERED.

AND RIGHT NOW THEY'RE GOOD AND WE'VE AND WE'VE DONE WELL.

WE'VE ALREADY EARNED ABOUT $9 MILLION ON THE 180 MILLION THAT WE HAD LAST YEAR.

BUT WE'RE STILL HAVE 182 MILLION OF THAT IN THE BANK, BECAUSE WE HAVE ACTUALLY EARNED MORE INTEREST THAN WHAT WE HAVE PAID OUT.

[01:05:06]

WITH THAT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 2256.003 OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS INVESTMENT ACT, THE DISTRICT DESIRES TO CONTRACT WITH PUBLIC TRUST ADVISORS, LLC.

PUBLIC TRUST.

PUBLIC TRUST IS AN SEC REGISTERED INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

THE INITIAL TERM OF THE CONTRACT WILL BE TWO YEARS.

ADOPTED THIS DAY, THE 26TH OF FEBRUARY 2024 BY THE LITTLE ELM TRUSTEES.

THAT IS THE RESOLUTION.

DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THIS RESOLUTION? FROM MARY. DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND. ANY QUESTIONS? YES, SIR. A COUPLE OF QUICK QUESTIONS.

I'M JUST READING THE MATERIAL.

THIS IS A COLORADO BASED COMPANY, CORRECT? SO THE HEADQUARTERS ARE IN COLORADO.

THEY HAVE TO. THERE ARE SEVERAL CRITERIA THAT THEY HAVE TO MEET TO BE A TEXAS INVESTOR.

AND THEY HAVE ILLUSTRATED THAT THEY'VE MET ALL OF THOSE WE AS SOME OF OUR OTHER PUBLIC FUNDS.

IN FACT, I THINK MOST OF OUR FUNDS ARE OUT OF THE DENVER, COLORADO.

OKAY. DO THEY HAVE ANY REP ANYWHERE IN THE AREA OR IS EVERYTHING IN COLORADO? I'M SORRY. DO THEY HAVE ANYBODY REPRESENTING THEM IN OUR AREA? YES. OKAY. YES THEY DO.

AND TEXAS CLASS IS THE TEXAS POOL THAT WE WORK THROUGH WITH THE BOND FUNDS CURRENTLY.

AND THEY HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH TEXAS CLASS SO THAT OUR STATEMENTS ACTUALLY WILL EVEN COME TO THE BOARD THROUGH TEXAS CLASS.

BUT I JUST WANTED TO BE COMPLETELY TRANSPARENT THAT THIS WAS A SEPARATE ADVISOR.

AND IT JUST GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO YIELD FOR SOME YIELDS THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO GET THROUGH TEXAS CLASS.

VERY GOOD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? HAVE A MOTION AND A SECOND.

SO THEREFORE EVERYONE IN FAVOR RAISE YOUR HAND.

ANY OPPOSED.

MOTION PASSES.

THANK YOU, MS. ADAMS. APPRECIATE IT. SO WE DO HAVE THE CONSENT AGENDA.

[11. Consent Agenda]

DOES ANY ITEM NEED TO BE PULLED BY ANY OF THE TRUSTEES? SEEING NONE, DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS IS? I HAVE A MOTION FROM DELEON.

DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND.

SECOND FROM MARY? ANY QUESTIONS? NONE. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED. CONSENT AGENDA PASSES AS IS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

WE'LL GO ON TO THE BOARD.

[12. Board President Comments]

PRESIDENT COMMENTS.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL THE CAMPUSES, STAFF, DEPARTMENTS.

UNFORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT HERE AT THE JANUARY MEETING DUE TO A FAMILY ISSUE.

SO I DO APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME.

I DID COME PICK IT UP.

WORN A LOT OF THE T SHIRTS AND EVERYTHING AND ALL THE STUFF, SO IT'S JUST GREAT.

SO APOLOGIZE IN MY LATE THANK YOU FOR THAT.

BUT AS ALWAYS, THAT'S ONE OF THE FAVORITE TIMES AS A BOARD MEMBER IS JANUARY FOR THE BOARD APPRECIATION.

IT JUST MAKES, YOU KNOW, WARMS US IN OUR HEART TO SEE HOW MUCH LOVE IS GIVEN FROM THE DISTRICT.

SO WE DO TRULY APPRECIATE THAT.

WOULD LIKE TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW THAT TRIVIA NIGHT IS TOMORROW NIGHT.

IF YOU'VE NOT SIGNED UP, IT'S PROBABLY NOT TOO LATE.

YOU CAN STILL GET A TABLE SUPPORTING OUR FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY.

SO IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN DOING THAT, OUR SUPERINTENDENT, MR. LAMB, WILL BE THE EMCEE.

THEY KICKED ME OUT. I GUESS I DIDN'T DO THAT GOOD OF A JOB LAST YEAR.

SO MR. LAMB, MIKE ON THE MIC, BABY.

WE WILL DEFINITELY HAVE SOME COMEDY THERE GOING ON FOR SURE.

AND WITH THAT TOO GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM HAD A GREAT RUN.

I'M SORRY IT CAME TO AN END VERSUS THE HEBRON HAWKS.

BUT I CAN SAY, AT LEAST WE DID GET BEAT BY THE NUMBER THREE TEAM IN THE STATE.

SO BUT THE LADY LOBOS DID A GREAT JOB.

IT WAS A GREAT RUN. FANTASTIC JOB BY ALL THE GIRLS INVOLVED IN THAT.

AND THEN LAST, I'D LIKE TO THANK ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS, MR. LAYMAN STAFF FOR THE FLOWERS IN JANUARY.

REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.

WITH THAT, I WILL GO AHEAD AND GO ON TO BOARD COMMENTS.

[13. Board Comments]

SO I WILL START DOWN ON MY LEFT, MR. BURTON. THANK YOU.

PRESIDENT. A COUPLE OF THINGS I'LL FOLLOW ON.

YEAH. CONGRATULATE THE LADY LOBOS FOR A GREAT SEASON AND CONTINUED.

SO HOPEFULLY WE'LL SEE THAT YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR.

THEY'VE GOT A GOOD FOUNDATION STARTED THERE.

ALSO HONOR ALL THE SPELLING BEE CONTESTANTS AND WINNERS.

THOSE ARE UNIQUE TO WATCH.

I'D LIKE TO GET MAYBE GET INVOLVED WITH THAT NEXT TIME.

SO AS EITHER AS A SPECTATOR OR HELP HELP THAT WORK GO OFF.

I WAS ABLE, MARY AND I WAS ABLE TO TOUR A VERY SPECIAL PLACE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL THIS WEEK, AND THAT'S THE WELDING SHOP. AND LET ME TELL YOU, FOLKS, IF YOU HAVE EVER THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT WELDING IS YOU DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT THE STUDENTS OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL, THE POSSIBILITIES THEY HAVE FOR THEM TO GET INTO A TRADE FIELD THAT STARTS OFF IN SIX DIGITS IN YOUR PAY SCALE. THESE STUDENTS CAN GRADUATE WITH THREE CERTIFICATIONS, AND THEY CAN WALK OUT INTO THE PUBLIC.

AND LIKE I SAID, START COMMANDING GOOD MONEY.

AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT DUPLICATED IN OTHER FORMS OTHER THAN JUST WELDING MAYBE, ELECTRIC AND PLUMBING, THOSE TYPE OF THINGS, SO WE CAN ACCENTUATE THE TRADES STRONGER IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

[01:10:03]

AND THEN ALSO, I GET TO TAKE PART IN THE EXCELLENT EXPRESS RECOGNIZING ALL OF THE TEACHERS OF THE YEAR PROFESSIONALS OF THE YEAR, PARAPROFESSIONALS OF THE YEAR AND I THINK THE BEST PICTURE I SAW TAKEN THE WHOLE DAY WE WERE TRAVELING TO EVERY CAMPUS WAS OUR LAST STOP AT PRESTWICK, AND IT HAPPENED TO BE LUNCH TIME. AND ONE OF THE RECIPIENTS WAS MOBBED BY EVERYBODY IN THE CAFETERIA JUST TO SEE THE LOVE THOSE STUDENTS HAD FOR THEIR TEACHER. REALLY WARMED MY HEART.

IT WAS A GREAT EVENT.

AND THANK YOU FOR THE INVITE TO BE THERE.

THANK YOU.

ECHOED SENTIMENTS.

MR. BURTON ONCE AGAIN TO THE LADY LOBOS.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE WORK THAT THEY PUT IN AND HOW FAR THEY WENT.

IT WAS A REAL PLEASURE TO WATCH THEM PLAY.

THEY JUST THEY PLAYED SO WELL.

SO IT WAS REALLY EXCITING TO SEE THEM.

AND FOR THE STAFF AND THOSE WHO ARE POURING INTO OUR STUDENTS, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TIME YOU SPEND WITH OUR KIDS AND OUR STUDENTS.

I KNOW IT'S IT'S AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.

AND I KNOW YOU SPEND A LOT OF TIME, YOU KNOW, DEVELOPING AND NURTURING OUR KIDS.

SO I WANT TO THANK YOU TO OUR STAFF AND OUR PARAPROFESSIONALS AND EVERYBODY OUT THERE DOING THEIR JOB.

THANK YOU. I TOO WANT TO ECHO MY FELLOWS COMMENTS ABOUT OUR LADY LOBOS.

THEY HAD AN AMAZING SEASON.

IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WATCH THEM THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AS WELL AS WE CONTINUED TO THE PLAYOFFS.

HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR WE WILL EARN OUR TICKET TO SAN ANTONIO.

I ALSO WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO OUR HR TEAM FOR INVITING US TO WORK WITH THE EXCELLENCE EXPRESS.

I HAD A GREAT TIME VISITING ALL THE CAMPUSES AND CELEBRATING ALL OF OUR AMAZING STAFF MEMBERS.

NOT JUST OUR TEACHERS, BUT OUR PROFESSIONALS AND OUR PARAPROFESSIONALS.

AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEK AS TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK.

SO I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO ON FRIDAY VISITING A COUPLE CAMPUSES FOR READ ACROSS AMERICA, BUT NEXT WEEK AS WELL.

GOING TO OPEN HOUSES.

I LOOK FORWARD TO GOING TO SEE ALL THE GREAT THINGS OUR KIDS ARE DOING, AND THAT'S PRETTY MUCH WHAT I'VE GOT THIS WEEK.

I DON'T HAVE TOO MUCH MORE TO ADD.

JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR STAYING LATE AND PUTTING THE MEETING ON.

BAND IS STARTING TO KIND OF KICK OFF THEIR SOLO AND ENSEMBLE SEASON THIS LAST WEEKEND WAS ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCES.

NOW THE KIDS ARE STARTING TO GET READY FOR SOLOS AND THE SPRING CONCERT SEASON AND ALL THAT.

SO IT KIND OF RAMPS UP.

AS WELL AS YOU KNOW, THE OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT THEY HAVE GOING ON.

SO JUST SHOUT OUT TO THEM, I'M SURE THEY'LL PERFORM WELL, AS USUAL.

I KNOW COLOR GUARD AS WELL HAS THEIR STUFF.

THEY'RE GETTING THE YEAR STUFF GOING ON.

SO I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING SEEING THOSE.

THANK YOU. YEAH.

I JUST WANT TO ADD ON TO THE EXCELLENT EXPRESS ON FRIDAY WAS IT WAS GREAT.

IT WAS A LONG DAY FOR EVERYBODY INVOLVED.

YOU KNOW, THE TEACHERS SEE US FOR A FEW MINUTES IN THEIR CLASSROOM, BUT YOU KNOW, HITTING EVERY CAMPUS THE MAINTENANCE YARD, THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ZELLERS.

IT'S A LOT OF GETTING IN CARS AND GETTING OUT OF CARS, BUT IT WAS GREAT TO SEE A LOT OF WORK WENT INTO THE PLANNING OF THAT LOGISTICALLY.

BUT I THINK THE MOST SPECIAL PART THAT MAKES LITTLE ELM SPECIAL AND AND PART OF THE FAMILY IS THAT THAT SPECIAL DAY WAS NOT ONLY SPECIAL TO THE TEACHERS AND THE PAIR PLANNERS AND THE STAFF, BUT ALSO A COORDINATING THAT THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WERE THERE AND, YOU KNOW, SEEING THEIR FACE WHEN, YOU KNOW, THEIR HUSBAND OR THEIR WIFE OR THEIR PARENTS, IN SOME CASES WERE THERE WITH BALLOONS AND NOT EXPECTING THEM OR SURPRISED THAT THEY TOLD THEM TO WEAR SOMETHING NICE AND THEY DIDN'T.

AND THE SHOCK ON THEIR FACE THAT THEY WERE THERE.

AND SO I CAN ASSURE YOU, NOT EVERY SCHOOL DISTRICT IS GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY FROM AN HR DEPARTMENT TO CALL FAMILY MEMBERS AND MAKE SURE IT'S A SURPRISE AND COORDINATE THEM TO ARRIVE AT THE CAMPUSES AND KEEP IT A SECRET.

YOU KNOW, THAT'S VERY SPECIAL.

AND, YOU KNOW, WE STOPPED IT OVER, I THINK 60 DIFFERENT AWARDS.

YOU KNOW, THAT'S A BIG UNDERTAKING.

AND SO YOU KNOW, THAT REALLY DRIVES HOME WHAT LITTLE ELM IS ALL ABOUT.

THAT IS ABOUT FAMILY.

NOT JUST FROM THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECT, BUT FROM YOU KNOW, THE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE HOME GETTING THOSE PEOPLE TO WORK EVERY DAY.

SO A GREAT JOB.

SO THANK YOU.

YAY, YAY! [INAUDIBLE].

THERE WE GO. ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU. GO ON TO SUPERINTENDENT COMMENTS, MR.

[14. Superintendent Comments]

LAMB. MAN, THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD THINGS TO TALK ABOUT.

ASHELEY, I'LL SAY KUDOS.

IT WAS A GREAT DAY.

EXCEPT FOR AT THE END.

I THOUGHT FOR SURE I WAS THE BEST SUPERINTENDENT IN THE DISTRICT, AND APPARENTLY I'M NOT, BECAUSE WE DIDN'T CELEBRATE THAT.

[01:15:04]

BUT OTHER THAN THAT, IT WAS A GREAT DAY, SO THANK YOU.

YOU DID GREAT. SO MANY GOOD THINGS GOING ON.

IT IS TRULY A GREAT DAY TO BE A LOBO.

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY YOU KNOW, FROM BAND TO SPELLING BEES TO PLAY.

WENT TO MIDDLE SCHOOL ONE ACT PLAY A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.

IT'S TRULY AMAZING WHAT THOSE STUDENTS CAN DO.

AND WE'VE GOT SO MANY GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR KIDS.

IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.

THE WELDING PROGRAM IS TRULY SECOND TO NONE.

SO CAN'T STOP THERE, BUT I'LL NOT BELABOR THAT ANYMORE.

I DO HAVE A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.

YOU SEE THERE THAT LAKEWOOD VILLAGE ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCEMENT, THE FTE'S THAT YOU GUYS APPROVED EARLIER IS WHAT ALLOWED FOR US TO HAVE THE ROOM TO MAKE A PRINCIPAL RELOCATION.

AT THIS TIME, I'D LIKE TO ANNOUNCE WE INTEND TO MOVE MISS KORI WERTH INTO THAT PRINCIPAL POSITION.

CONGRATULATIONS, COREY.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US MAKE THAT HAPPEN.

IT'S GOING TO BE HELPFUL TO.

OR MAYBE NOT.

I DON'T KNOW, MICKEY. SHE MIGHT GET ON YOUR NERVES.

BUT IT'S GOING TO BE HELPFUL TO HAVE SOMEBODY IN PLACE TO HELP PICK CARPET TILES AND THAT KIND OF STUFF.

I'M JUST KIDDING. SO CONGRATULATIONS.

AND TO ALL YOUR SUPPORT THAT'S HERE.

I KNOW THAT'S PROBABLY BITTERSWEET, BUT THANK YOU ALL.

GREAT DAY TO BE A LOBO. THANK YOU AND I'M SORRY.

AS MENTIONED EARLIER I DO THANK THIS BOARD.

I'M ONE MONTH AWAY FROM HAVING BEEN HERE A YEAR.

IT'S BEEN AN INCREDIBLE YEAR FOR ME.

THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT LOVE THIS COMMUNITY.

LIKE, I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYBODY LOVE A COMMUNITY BEFORE.

SO THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO.

I DID GET A CONTRACT EXTENSION, SO I APPRECIATE THAT.

SO I'M KIND OF GIDDY MYSELF, AND THANK YOU ALL.

PARALLEL PARKING WAS KIND OF SKETCHY.

YEAH. WE'RE SENDING YOU PART OF THAT WAS WE'RE GOING TO SEND YOU BACK THROUGH DEFENSIVE DRIVING.

I DO TEACH DRIVER'S ED FOR THOSE THAT NEED HELP.

ALL RIGHT. WITH THAT? DO I HAVE A MOTION TO ADJOURN? SO MOVED. DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL THOSE OPPOSED? WE WILL OFFICIALLY CLOSE AT 8:17 P.M.

COULD STRETCH IT OUT.
